Melo is one of the most overrated "up and comers" of the last decade, he's too small, he's not that good on the mic, and he's average at best in the ring. Trick's better at all those things but still not good enough to be a headliner.
Only one that hits that mark on all 3 is Oba and now they're shoving him into the vision vortex since they're clearly not ready to put the title on him (which is the only move to make with him at this point)

This is sort of always the problem with WWE is they always fuck up the timing. I think most of the time it's best for them to just say fuck it and strike while the iron's hot since the longer they drag it out the higher chance they'll fuck it up when they do pull the trigger, or people just lose interest before it happens anyway
