Alright bros, I’ve been watching this All Elite Wrestling thing for a while now and I’ve come to a conclusion that this isn’t wrestling, it’s a live-action stunt show with a ref standing around for decoration. Where’s the storytelling? Where’s the heat? Where’s the guy in the crowd screaming YOU SOLD OUT while the heel smirks? Instead, we get>17 superkicks in a row>a Canadian Destroyer on the apron that gets a 2-count>a guy doing a triple moonsault to the outside while the opponent politely waits to catch him>Promos that sound like they were written by a D&D groupI’m not saying it’s bad entertainment, it’s flashy, it’s athletic, it’s impressive. But is it wrestling? Nah. Wrestling is about making you believe the fight matters, not just chaining together highlight reel spots until the bell rings. AEW is basically Cirque du Soleil with a championship belt and weird paki for an owner.
