The JR title should be the one with outside contenders.
>>
>>21309934
I really dont understand it at this point. Is it a weird gay Japanese honour thing? Is it Tana having no confidence in the next gen? It is access to Tony's billions? I could kinda get it a few years ago, but AEW isn't in a fantastic state now, so they shouldn't hold so much power over NJPW still.
>>
>>21310101
>If that's MJF, it's a guaranteed loss for sure.
>MJF is probably interested in Oiwa's style, but since he regularly wrestles guys with styles like Tsuji's that are basically superior versions, he wouldn't care about that.
>In reality, Japanese pro-wrestling fans often know less about overseas wrestlers than you might think..
>MJF is a wrestler who is easily of a higher caliber than Ospreay.
>Seriously, lending us MJF? What's up with AEW? Is this some kind of way to release the pent-up distrust towards AEW?
>Looks like Oiwa's IWGP title win is off the table lol
>If MJF comes to Japan, I'll definitely go see him there.
>If the Oiwa-MJF match were held at the Dome, it would be a mega-fight that would attract worldwide attention, and there would be no need to put the IWGP title on the line, so it feels like Tsuji's chances of defending the title at Ryogoku have increased.
>MJF is fed up with all the similar-looking athlete-style pro wrestling, so I think their interest in Oiwa is pretty genuine.
>MJF is definitely in the same vein as Flair and others. He can do aerials too, but I wonder if he was inspired by the Oiwa-Uemura match.
>I'm so grateful to Tony Khan for letting us borrow Ospreay, MJF, Moxley, and others.
>There are already a few angry comments on the New Japan Pro-Wrestling post that mentioned MJF, saying that the results of Ryogoku have been revealed...
>Even with New Japan Pro-Wrestling itself being mocked this much, MJF will still win, right? He's the "superior" one, after all. Considering his character, he would never say something like "Japanese pro wrestling isn't so bad" after the match. If the organization is mocked, it will tarnish the career of the next ace and be the end of it.
>NJPW has become blatantly reliant on AEW. Don't they think that's pathetic?
>>
>>21310395

This is an interesting post from one of our 5ch BROTHERS
Haven't watched much AEW so I don't know how MJF operates in feuds he wins as a heel. I really hope he doesn't laugh, call Oiwa a fat bitch and leave or something.
Overall I'm excited for the match. I like MJF way better than Jeongmok and Assplay and I think it's gonna be an awesome 70s southern style match with Oiwa. The prospect of working that kind of match is probably why MJF immediately started shittalking Oiwa on SNS after the G1 final.
>>
>>21310434
First of all he will definitely call Oiwa rightfully fat and laught at him.
Second off, he won't win the fued. MJF willingly lost to Mistico in their CMLL feud by tapping clean in the middle of the ring.
He'll probably win the first match by cheating and lose the next ones and the feud.
Either way it will be good.
>>
>>21310376
AEW is in a better spot now than it was two years ago anon, it's still not as good as in 2019-early 2023 but it's still better than 2024-2025.
And besides Khan has like infinite money, AEW will always be in a better position than NJPW.

>MJF promises to lock the forbidden door
>this is supposed to be a heel promo
GANBARE MJF-SAMA
END THE PARTNERSHIP FOREVER
>>
The reality is that MJF really likes Oiwa's wrestling. He sees himself as the modern Ric Flair and he sees Oiwa as someone he can have a generational rivalry with. They are both extremely young in wrestling terms (27 and 30) and I think he realizes he can have like a 10 year feud with Oiwa if they handle it properly. And he wants that clearly.

It could end up being a good thing for Oiwa. MJF doesn't mind jobbing in other countries (he tapped out to Mistico in Mexico happily). It's Tony Khan that books him way too strongly and is overprotective of him as a top guy.
I expect they will have a big match, Oiwa will win, and then MJF will get his win back next summer at Forbidden Door or something when it is more acceptable for Oiwa to lose. And I think they will go back and forth after that.
>>
>>21310882
the knee jerk reaction to this is just AEW derangement syndrome, anyone who actually knows what’s up knows that this is what MJF is angling for and that he’ll have no problem doing business
i don’t know if he’s losing the first match THOUGH…
>>
>>21311016
>i don’t know if he’s losing the first match THOUGH…
Absolutely he isn't. He put his real world championship on the line in the promo and that ain't going to Oiwa when it's an ongoing AEW tv storyline.

I think a lot of promotions, njpw included, became both things quite some time ago, with each promotions having a different ratio of puro and sports entertainment
>>
>>21311304
they're probably pretty on edge considering the company gets rocked by some scandal at least once a year
>>
>>21311304
depends to whom you ask. every promotions has its own ecosystem, some works better than others.
for now ajpw seems pretty chill considered they had a really terrible period between the rookie getting killed, one of their top guys committing a crime and hiring a sex pest.

To sum it up:
GRIM !!!
>>
>>21310434
MJF handles heat like an older style territory heel. He'll shit all over everything, avoid any comeuppance for as long as possible, then lose; sometimes clean and sometimes dirty. The dirty end is usually just an opening for you to get pissed at him again, it doesn't taint the face's win. He's honestly a pretty good wrestler.
>>21310467
>He'll probably win the first match by cheating and lose the next ones and the feud.
That would be my guess, pretty standard MJF-style booking. Though if he decides to work with Togo and Gedo closely on the angle, it could go way too far. That's too much Memphis in one place
>>
>>21311544
Just keep the wrestlers off the road and they should be fine

>[NJPW] Former Ishikawa Governor Hiroshi Hase Appears and Hints at In-Ring Return: "I'm Retraining—Let's Meet in the Ring Soon"

>Former Ishikawa Governor Hiroshi Hase (65) attended the New Japan Pro-Wrestling event held in Komatsu, Ishikawa, on the 9th.

>A charity fundraiser was held at the event to support recovery efforts following the 2024 Noto Peninsula earthquake. Before the matches began, NEVER Openweight Champion Wolf Aron and Tatsuya Matsumoto held a charity handshake event.

>Hase, who also attended last year's event in October during his tenure as governor, stepped into the ring after the fifth match. Taking the microphone, he declared, "How is everyone doing? Wow, the energy here is amazing. I'm currently retraining, so let's meet in the ring again soon"—marking the second consecutive year he has voiced an intention to return. As he left, he reiterated, "I hope you enjoy the rest of the Komatsu event. Let's meet in the ring soon!" showing enthusiasm for a return to professional wrestling for the first time since the Pro Wrestling NOAH event at Nippon Budokan on January 1, 2023.

>In response, Shingo Takagi—who won the main event that day—commented, "If he does make a comeback, I'd definitely like to face him." All eyes are now on whether we will truly see Hase compete in the ring once again.

Insider-kun here. The real Oka doesn't travel to America anymore is because he had a really bad experience in Las Vegas where he was robbed and had his wallet stolen. Luckily, his passport was not in it, just his wallet but he still lost his JP ID and a bunch of other things (including around 1500 USD). He was booked on AEW multiple times in the past and Khan seems to like him but his experience in Las Vegas has put him off of international travel.

There no way all those AEW guys are losing. Its gonna be a grim dome for NJPW im afraid

>>Kenny
Has started finishing up in AEW and this will probably be his final run in NJPW. They probably put the belt on him (he shows up more than once at least)
>>Mox
Mox is a primadonna but he likes Shota so this could go either way
>>Ospreay
Tony wont let him lose on a NJPW show
>>Gabe
Probably losing as he's been around all year
>>Cope and Cage
Cope is a notorious fag about losing to people, so I assume KOB are doing the JOB
>>MJF
Has his fake AEW title that he treats like the real thing. He might even have the actual title by then, so I doubt he's losing

I think we need to start talking about Tana retiring from his position

If New Japan doesn't treat AEW like UWFi at Tokyo Dome then I don't want any of this. Just this overreliance shows how grim things are.
>>
>>21337499
Why the fuck would Shota get the Mox match? He's literally a bitch in kayfabe and I say this as someone who actullay likes him more than most here. At best he'll be in the rambo just like he was this year

>The Hiroshima cards are way too luxurious lol
>Honestly, if you just look at Tsuji's matches, he's incredibly consistent and worthy of being a champion.
>Kenny's microphone is incredibly easy to hear, unlike most Japanese people.
>New Japan Pro-Wrestling's popularity in America has plummeted in recent years and it's practically dead. If it gets too weak, they won't be able to do the inter-promotional storylines anymore, so I wonder if they're trying to do something about it.
>We no longer need Bushiroad to suck up our profits, so money is now flowing in from TV Asahi and CyberAgent.
>That talk about a 50-50 split is actually completely backwards, isn't it? What's actually being discussed is poaching talent, and on top of that, taking a spot on the top cards of NJPW events and walking away with a big payday just accelerates the inequality. They should either stop the poaching and stay out of the ring, or if they are going to wrestle, pay to bring in the exact same number of NJPW wrestlers. That would make it 50-50. The truth is, since the two companies aren't on equal footing, some unfairness is only natural. But trying to play it off and falsely claim that kind of setup is "equal" is honestly pretty infuriating.
>Kitani: "Japanese people can't empathize with foreigners."
>Kitani: "It's hard to attract foreigners because of the weak yen."

You faggots told me when I asked back in early June that the Tony cucking was done with, they're pushing all their homegrown stars, and it was safe to start watching again and I rightfully decided not to listen to you faggots.

I check back in now and the entire upper card of Wrestle Kingdom is getting taken up by AEW talent and they're conveniently all coming in now to reap the payday and then dip again right afterwards.

It's possible MJF wins this and jobs later but he will job in the end, it's kinda his 'mick (short for gimmick).

If Shota beat Gabe I could see that, but if he can't even beat Gabe why would he get Mox?

>the entire upper card of Wrestle Kingdom is getting taken up by AEW talent

Oddly enough, I've noticed that the only time Wrestle Kingdom has been mentioned was Gabe Kidd offhandedly said "see you at Wrestle Kingdom" as he was leaving.

MJF, Omega and Mox not mentioning Wrestle Kingdom specifically makes me wonder if they're doing the Wrestle Dynasty 'mick (short for gimmick) again.

Yeah, you can apologize to us again. We were right to doubt Shin Nihon after the Grim1. They never learn, still an ass penetrated company. GRIM !
>>
>Kenny, one of their biggest stars, getting booed after interrupting Boltin's challenge
A sign that times have passed to a new era. Boltin is a pure babyface that the entire crowd can get behind. Inserting Kenny into his challenge reminds me of when the old geezers at WWE thought the fans still wanted Dwayne and took Cody out of the main event to put him in until the fans complained hard enough to take him back out again.
I doubt the Japanese fans will threaten to stop watching en masse like that however so we're just stuck with our current rising stars getting cucked for people who are old hat....

>50-50 relationship
>AEW guys win all their matches
Im starting to think that stuff about AEW running Japan next year is true, because Tony's burner is really pushing the "look at what great partners we are" narrative. Something you would definitely do just before they fuck over that partner and run their hometown
>>
>>21337816
I hope to god gayew really does start running Japan because the absolute catastrophe that will be their attendances might just convince them to drop NJPW and leave Japan altogether

Sad part is people are still gonna shit on Gedo even though he's probably one of the weaker voices in the office now that he isn't the one in possession of the nuclear warheads with his management of Okada and Jay. We probably won't ever find out who's really to blame for this because there's no foreign talent at the top of the card to tell Meltzer who's handling it. MJF has been known to outright tell lies to the dirtsheets because he cares about kayfabe... doubt Kenny will say anything, the only time he was shooting on NJPW backstage stuff was when he was feuding with Harold.

>>21337941
Ibushi would 100% leak everything if he was still there but unfortunately he was too stupid to even comprehend what is going on, so he was perfectly leak safe due to his own stupidity

Back when the Grim1 was done and you were saying New Japan is back I was already telling you that you should calm down because they always find a way to fumble and make themselves look like sissies. You didn't listen to me. Now look at what happened. Grim.
See you in January when Pooji beats Pedomega and you all act like they're back again, only for some tranny shenanigans to happen again and fuck everything up. This is the cycle Shin Nihon is trapped in, as long as they keep this disgusting partnership. This curse will haunt you, this is what you get for opening that door.

Wrestle Kingdom 22 card

>IWGP Heavyweight Championship:
Gabe Kidd vs Callum Newman*
>IWGP Global Heavyweight Championship:
Will Ospreay vs Konosuke Takeshita
>Winner gets an AEW contract:
Yota Tsuji vs Yuya Uemura
>NEVER Openweight Championship:
MJF vs Jon Moxley
>IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Championship:
Young Bucks vs Bandido & Jack Cartwheel

And then to open the show, the New Japan Rumble: winner gets an ROH contract.

>*: Callum Newman is All Elite.
>>
>>21337499
>Tsuji vs Kenny
Kenny's gonna put Tsuji over. He said it himself, he wants to prove the relationship is 50-50, so he, as AEW's top guy, is gonna put over New Japan's top guy.
>Shota vs Mox
Current day Moxley basically only loses to people after he's spent a bunch of effort making it clear that he made them who they are and they never would've beaten him if not for his influence and Umino does technically fall into that category, but, it is still Moxley so he just fucking beat him anyway.
>Newman vs Ospreay
Ospreay is gonna drop the belt at World's End and lose to Newman.
>Yuya vs Gabe
Yuya's gonna win. This feels like a pretty standard story built to get blown off at the Dome.
>KOB vs Cope and Cage
Fuckin' random-ass match. Cope is such a bitch about losing, he might actually win this one and then do another fuck-ass three-way to drop the titles to whoever.
>Oiwa vs MJF
MJF will eventually tap out to Oiwa, it's just a question of whether it's at the Dome or somewhere else.
