He's treated as a top tier wrestler, he wins almost all his matches and he pretty much always has a belt, but there's always this feeling that both AEW and him are kinda holding back. Like AEW isn't really pushing him to the top, he's messing around with the second tier titles (which does make those titles feel important, at least) and you can tell he's putting in reduced effort in most of his matches and character work. But it's still good because it's Okada and even at like 70% effort, he's still great. His character is kinda weirdly meta, where he clearly doesn't take anybody in AEW seriously and he thinks they're so far below him, he doesn't have to try.But then sometimes he will be in a really important spot like the Continental Classic or the match he just had against Ospreay and in those moments, he will give you full 100% effort Okada. It's almost a little frustrating that he only does it every so often. It's not bad, you're just usually left with that feeling that you want a little more. He is starting to get mixed in with the World Title more often now, though, so, who knows, maybe he's on the precipice of a bigger push.
