Tape trading peaked like 1985-1995 and he was over with those traders and Meltzer, but it mostly was not for star ratings, though he was in a Dave 5 star tag match. The tape traders loved the Road Warriors also. Modern fans more impressed by the Young Bucks just don't get it.

He was very selective who he would lose to, especially by pin in singles matches, and didn't mind telling promoters bye bye. Probably could have had a run in 80s WWF if he wanted to play by their rules, but he preferred to be a freelance outlaw type like Sabu.
