You, Frieden Moon. Did not take part on it. But as you're finally arriving closer to the PLANT colonies in order to discuss the situation of not only Heliopolis' fall but perhaps, the Secrets discovered within it... A question is raised over what it means for the only Natural ZAFT pilot to come back with news for the Homeland's council to hear.
>>6382068You kept hovering your hand across the tablet as you stared at it from your empty bunk. The details on Operation Orion: The plan and after-action reports from the encounter that recorded the destruction of Artemis at just the tip of your finger.Yet... You didn't know if you'd have the heart to even acknowledge from this distance that Artemis is gone.Having spent just a brief moment within it and yet... Lamenting the loss of life and fortress despite your standing with ZAFT...You could already picture Yzak calling you spineless for the behaviour you were exhibiting, at least if he was here...The remaining week-long trip back to the PLANTs had been filled with only that taciturn feeling of... Longing and dread for what had happened beyond your ability to act. After all, it was your choice to join Athrun and Le Creuset for the hearing...And yet, maybe in order to keep your composure to the best of your ability, you've withheld from properly reviewing the thing, even as you considered it more and more.Yet, a knock on your airlock makes you aware of the immediate reality of your situation as you turned off the tablet.
>>6382070"Frieden, We're approaching Aprilius One's airspace in ten minutes." Athrun passes into your Bunk as you fixed-up the fittings of your turtleneck, giving him a nod as you began to slung your greencoat on "It's honestly... Somewhat unsettling to be back here after everything that'd happened."You try to make as if that statement didn't faze you as much but... Truth be told, the matter of Artemis had only distracted you from your own doubts you had when departing towards the PLANTs.Rusty's death, The fall of Heliopolis... Margellan's doubts on Siegel Clyne's actions."Someone gave a tip these Mobile Suits were mobilized here, Makes no sense to check a neutral colony for them. Arisman's a top-record spy... But she got her orders from someone and I have no reason to doubt it was Chancellor Clyne."Margellan's own statements about the fact did seem to remind you of them all as you readied your uniform, departing with Athrun as the Vesalius finally docks within a supply station of the PLANT homeland."Do take this however, Natural. Don't let anyone see this slip or tinker heavily with the Green Frame until someone treats you just like home. [You'll know the one."You pocket the dossier-folded slip with technical notations and the data disk with Red-Frame's system data into your coat's pockets as you finally exit out of your bunk and float off with Athrun across its halls.Finding yourselves both stopping as one of the windows is serviced from the outside. You're both home... And it almost feels like it isn't quite where you belong.[ https://files.catbox.moe/uiy3gt.mp3 ]
>>6382072Joining with Le Creuset and wordlessly making your way among you three to a shuttle that had recently docked within the Vesalius' docking area. You suppose getting to Aprilius One'd take that, especially with the renown and the heat that Le Creuset had garnered with his summoning. You did not expect to see the passenger hall having two already... Much less those two being the most powerful men in the PLANT colonies."Commander Zala... Supreme Chancellor Clyne." Le Creuset greeted as you and Athrun, out of sheer instinct from the Chief Commander of ZAFT and the Supreme Chancellor, raised your right arms to chest and shoulder in salute."Don't bother with the formalities... We're short on time, so being brief." Patrick Zala commented away, giving one glare towards their son and your own salute as you both hurriedly dropped it "You three did not see us on this vessel and nothing that shall be discussed during the trip to the Council's building shall be reiterated unless deemed necessary. Are we clear?" Athrun and you affirm as well, deciding to settle by the separate row as Le Creuset discussed privately with the Commander...Or that was the plan, as Clyne unchecks their belt safeties, standing up and floating by you as they extend their right hand towards you "It is good to see you again. Frieden."You take their hand, shaking it lightly before noticing his grip seemed to go further, slightly holding your wrist as they seemed intent to pull on it.>Follow along with the pull, does he want to hug you?>Insist on the handshake, It is good but not quite to toss out the clear formalities>Let go dutifully with a salute, You've still got some ways to get to the Council's briefing>Write-In
>>6382073>Follow along with the pull, does he want to hug you?Lmao Frieden c'mon, (I think he wants to pull us away for a 1-on-1)
>>6382073>Follow along with the pull, does he want to hug you?
Probably wants to send a message of some sort.
>>6382073>>6382076>>6382422>>6382550You didn't really know what to do as you looked abound of the seating arrangement.Yet, knew immediately as the aged blond man grasped your shoulder and leaned closer to you as they whispered."It really is good to see you here... Please, do tell me everything that's happened since deployment."And you do that, seated in the opposite row of the shuttle's arrangement as you noticed Le Creuset reporting to Commander Zala... And Athrun's unrested gazes at his father and the conversation you were having by the other side of the shuttle cabin, left out on both accounts...As Clyne breathed in "Chancellor Mackenzie's Son has passed away...? I'll have to reserve some time to inform them before we engage the proceedings of today."The degree of caution the older man was well-merited, from what he had told you as you told them from your departure from the PLANTs up to the disaster operation at Heliopolis."It's concerning how sturdy that ship had been made to withstand that and so much more... But I doubt it had gotten properly resupplied ar Artemis." Clyne drops their own two cents as he rubbed their forehead with their index and thumb a tired expression that seems to vanish as he notices your own uncertainty at his mention of the fortress "My apologies it had gotten involved in this war after everything... The Wall of Light was wuite the technical marvel yet it could not withstand the same power intended to be wielded by...""You're not exactly making it better, Sir." You try to cut off from the topic as it still held a cloud over your head, The man trying to give a comforting smile but soon realizing it wouldn't help you.You looked away into the shuttle's windows as it began approaching the capital colony of the PLANT's apparatus."I suppose the anticipation is getting to us both, My apologies." Supreme Chairman Clyne mentions as you're taken aback from the window as he looked up "Truthfully, it has been messy to deal with Heliopolis' destruction with as little information and official communiques. The Council has had multiple reactions to it and..." The blond man gently passed a hand across their moustache as he looked up."Have you ever heard about The Seed of the P.L.A.N.Ts thesis?"
>>6382781It... Does ring a bell as one of Margellan's more lucid rambles."Our spiritual founder, George Glenn, more than half a century ago, Proposed the idea of the very colonies we had to the then standing United Nations, garnering the Zodiac group's facilities and focusing a whole subset of colonies made for explicit scientific discovery and experimentation." As he recalledz you did raise your eyes slightly as how it tracked...Margellan had a gripe with that thesis, if you remembered. It was a social study analyzed shortly after the war entered into a stalemate at Endymion and published soon after with a decent backing by parts of the PLANT council. It didn't surprise you why, for the Thesis was and has been interpreted as a cause for Coordinator superiority."Think I heard as much... While analyzing Evidence-01. As the first Coordinator and Trailblazer of them all. The hypothetical Seed casted for the existance of the PLANT's is was him, right?" Trying to recall and sanitize the expletives off Margellan's recount of it all."Correct, although it has been only twenty years since Patrick and I have founded the Zodiac Alliance, the PLANT colonies have had a long-storied distinction as the shining beacon of safety and possibility for those of our kind." Clyne explained before suddenly growing a concerned expression "And that, has developed the idea that, if we are to fight for our Freedoms... Why should we look upon our Natural Predecessors that vehemently tried to control us?"The Creation of the Mobile Suit... The N-Jamming waves... All powerful and influential technologies fully made and endorsed by the Coordinators of the PLANT colonies and that had distinctly shifted them from would-be trounced over rebels into a fighting chance capable of toppling the combined might of the whole of Earth's nations... One would be blind to even suggest such would not have changed the general outlook of themselves from their origins"And that is the crux of the Seed... It grows, nurtured and conditioned by the circumstances its growth" Clyne seemed serious as he reconsidered speaking his mind further, taking a look over to the other row... And themselves being engrossed in their own reporting "I'd be a fool to try and compare myself to or say I directly descend from the late George Glenn, but... The idea of superiority against this past... I've fought for our Freedom and Independence nearly all of my life, but I feel sick by the growing demands of repayment in blood for all our struggles."Thesis or not... There was backing to that shift in culture no less aided by the atrocities the former sponsor nations and the Alliance were willing to press."And that is why I deem you important enough to lend your own word. As a Natural who stepped into our world and thrived in it... You and your accomplishments represent a different reality I wish to see the seed within the PLANTs grow."
>>6382797You widen your eyes at the exceeding praise yet... Find yourself unable to properly answer it as the shuttle docks. The two chancellors leave soon afterwards, preparing for the session far ahead and extricating themselves from the hidden meeting as you, Athrun and Le Creuset leave to be escorted to the PLANT council's headquarters as was instructed. And yet those words of praise held up at your head as you gazed to the very own fossil stored within the building, awaiting the time of your audience. To think this thing... Could kickstart the events following towards now..."You're looking at it rather intently, aren't you?" Athrun leans to your side as they too stare at Evidence 01, The Jovian whale that had shooked the world upon its discovery "First time you're seeing it?"You nod to that "I honestly can't believe the PLANTs would keep it after all these years... It feels like something that would belong in a museum." You mention ahead as Athrun shook their head."At the time, the Zodiac group and the Crew of the Tsiolkovsky didn't trust the sponsor Nations on maintaining its integrity after getting confirmed it wasn't fabricated... For me though, I can't believe we'd keep a rock." You raise your eyebrows at what he said, sounding utterly casual about it before he raised an eyebrow "I... Why're you looking at me like-?"This thing sparked revolutions across the earth, it destroyed religious foundations and reshaped how the entire world thought space could manifest after-."I know it's history, Frieden... It still doesn't change that it's a rock." You... Ease up a bit after he clarified. It's not out of a place of disrespect but rather, something the Thesis had also broached in.That maybe the growth wouldn't be done at a mirror pace to the stimuli and culture around it... That it would grow errant from it and potentially, create a new sprouting result separate from its origins.Maybe... That still doesn't change how you're both waiting to be summoned, as your mind finds itself finally elsewhere... Focusing on what could be happening as you stand watching this piece of evidence.>What is happening back in the Nemo?>What is happening upon the Gamow?>What is going on as the Vesalius is docked within the PLANTs?>What could have befelled the Archangel after Artemis?
>>6382807>What could have befelled the Archangel after Artemis?Reading through this I have to say giving mercy was a mistake. The other side gets mobile suits it'll just elongate the war. With more moving parts more things can go wring om both sides.

>>6382807>What could have befelled the Archangel after Artemis?
>>6382807>>6382850>>6382886The Archangel had only managed to escape from Artemis through daredevil stunts during the attack and an all-encompassing crowd convinced by a young officer to abandon the fortress in an organized retreat...Ultimately, adding more crew to the level wherein it could possibly function properly as intended...That is... In theory. As a large front of the escaping crowd was ill-fitting to the demands of running the ship due to Artemis impregnable status had left them lacking in training and bereft of experience.Made more evident as First Lieutenants La Flaga and Parsec exited out of the training sim room in the Archangel. The latter looking considerably drained as the Hawk of Endymion bumped him on the arm with his elbow."You went a bit overboard there with them, don't you think?" As the two floated within the hallways, the dark-haired Ace just glared aside at them "You didn't exactly need to knock him out with a slap and call him a fro-""Fuck that damned french asshole! So is everyone from that damned rock!" Parsec exploded as the blond Ace flinched while seemingly distancing themselves as prying ears across the hall peered to them "These idiots call themselves Pilots but I swear they're damned worse than someone fresh off basic, the fuck was that Garcia moron doing basically telling them to hole up in their-!?"Parsec's rant is cut off as Mu pulls them from their shoulder, giving a quaint nod to passing crewmen from Heliopolis as he sighs."Yeah, I bet they'd love to hear the rest of that. but I get it... That Tolle kid somehow's got more sense than them." Allan once again scoffed as they looked around for passerbies from Artemis."Not by much, it pisses me a hell of a lot more that the completely green Kid has the far better attitude that the people with a year's experience." Allan stops for a moment as Mu dials up the Archangel's elevator "And that's not the only thing making these ungrateful bastards more than just a passing annoyance." Allan lead up as he began into a more ordained listing of grievances. The Archangel didn't manage to get much resources as it was forced to depart Heliopolis, but it mostly got enough to work with a Skeleton Crew armed with one mobile suit. That changed a lot after it got stocked with Eurasian federation personnel, which could be weathered around... Except for a very concerning water shortage."The moment I hear one of these european morons complain about the rationing, I am so decking them-" Allan stops his rant as they looked over to where Mu had been leading them about "Ramius finally got a plan on how the hell we'll dodge the ships chasing us?"Mu just hummed a negatory tone as he shook their head "Not quite... Neumann's got an idea to run through the Debris field after we got those patchwork repairs on the hull but this is-"
>>6383347At that precise point, the Airlock of the bridge opened as Miriallia gave a bowing nod to the arriving earthern and space aces as the command station was hearing out... A newcomer.Allan pre-emptively frowned as Mu and him approached "- It's really a shame what has happened to your chief mechanic, but I swear I can do as good of a job once acclimatized to it! Not to mention how helpful the Heliopolis Crew has been and you as well, Lovely Captain." The english-accented young man gave a slight bow of their head as Ramius just looked uncomfortable at the praise while currently wearing their mechanic overalls."Yeah, whatever. Just get the Strike ready for Kira. Don't mouth off like that just to hear the sound of your own voice" Allan cut off as he tossed their weight towards their command chair, laying over it just as Mu seemed... Skeptical of the young officer's appearance in the bridge."Well, your timing's quite serendipitous actually... We were about to broach something for our continued cooperation." The english officer adjusts their data analysis glasses as they look over towards the grumpy-looking ace "I was meaning to ask... Could I get an apology from you punching me at Artemis?"Mu tensed slightly before raising an eyebrow at the petty, yet last minute request, after barely only a week of travel does he remark this again... Yet-."No." Allan concluded as he gave a raising nod towards Neumann "Alfred, show me that navigation data's you've planned for-"Allan shuts himself up as the young officer insists "That hurt, you know?! Blimey, I know Americans had this reputation of impoliteness but I just-" Allan glared at the young man as he choked on their words."First Lieutenant Parsec, Give the apology and be done with this-" Badgiruel tried to force the complying with an order obly for Murrue to raise her hand."I... Can see where they are going with this, Natarle. We're grateful of your aid and help in our escape from Artemis, Lucielle. But we can't exactly come to grasp that with your previous behaviour." Murrue tried to sound off convinced, even as her tired tone slightly undercut her posturing."More specifically, It'd be really farcical to try and intuit that your rank and contributions translate to power." Allan followed from the thread as Mu sighed "You've dropped a crew of Ill-adjusted individuals and have only started taking helm of the Mechanic's bay... With only another Moebius to boot." The endpoint of it all came down to one thing in particular, As Mirialia, now off-duty regaled the meeting to their friends in the mess hall.
>>6383378"Earn our trust before thinking you're one of us?" Sai reflected upon Miriallia as the earthern Aces' words confused him "I can't say I like either Edward or Allan, but I guess I get it." Sai tossed aside worrying for it as he raised an eyebrow to Tolle ravenously eating his ration."What?!" Tolle shooked their head as he noticed the stare "I've had to skip breakfast because the simulators got bogged down with the Artemis Crew and their instruction, Lucielle's also very much a prima-donna for a chief mechanic." Tolle dropping unusual remarks of him made their girlfriend look at hom strange."You're... Not picking up from Mr Parsec, Are you, Tolle?" Miriallia commented as the green-haired mechanic's assistant shrugged."Difficult not to, He's not intense once you acclimatize. But the swearing gets to you." Tolle raised their hand in a salute as Kuzzey sat down, looking inconvenienced by the full mess hall "Kuzzey, how's the medbay doing? I haven't had the time to check but Mr. Murdoch's awake enough to-"The dark-haired young man just shook their head as they let out a tired sigh "Medbay's also desling with some of the Artemis Escapees getting injured in the escape... I'm way overwhelmed." Kuzzey looked over as Tolle continued eating "The water rationing's also getting bad for their recovery... I can't even-"Kuzzey's recount is stopped as Tolle suddenly chokes on a piece of dry bread, reaching up for their cup of water and realizing it empty as they tried to cough up, calling back for water before picking up Sai's cup...The latter complaining before Kuzzey looked abound to the pilot-in-training "Tolle, do you really want to be a pilot for the Alliance?" the question does seem to take everyone offguard, as Kuzzey looks down "I want to go home... I didn't sign up for this and-"Tolle jumps in after clearing their throat "Well, I'm not a pilot for the Alliance, I'm a pilot for the Archangel. So long as we and the rest of everyone from Heliopolis manage to get to safety... I'll do it, if anything to ease up Kira's load."The assesment sounded off fine for the rest of the group... But Tolle still held doubts of the actions he had comitted back at Artemis.Of course, jumping into a Mistral in a bid to save a paralyzed Strike wasn't exactly the greatest idea, even he admits, He'd be dead without Kira's intervention.But... In the end, he was willing to go to the extreme of it all... To save his Best friend. And that begged the question amongst the group of friends from the fallen colony...Where is Kira Yamato?
>>6382886read it already, couldnt understand wanted some human to explain it but thank you
>>6383542Kira could not get Artemis out of his head. The moment the fortress started being attacked, he was press-ganged and forced to pilot and lend a master copy of the Strike's data by the station's commander...The next moment, he was following ahead, using only the beam rifle of the Aile Striker and its shield but not having been able to get the vernier pack installed in the interim of the base loss of power and his escape.Clumsily running with the Strike before interrupting it into a Zero-G vernier maneuver, yelping and covering themselves with their shield as the locked gateway into the mechanics and cargo bay blows up.Gunfire erupting as the smoke clears away with one fell rupture of the thin atmosphere, the Duel, with a brand new, yet, jury-rigged GINN arm firing a machine gun as it prattles "That bastard having me beg for an arm! These Natural's thought themselves safe but the nerve of that midget!""Hey, it's your fault you had to get yours melted, Sorry doesn't cut-!" The Buster's pilot followed the rapport before immediately locking eyes to Kira "Strike! Nicol, Miguel, Yzak!"Kira had to fight not only his way out of the crumbling fortress, but all pilots engaged in its destruction, expending their energy thin as the fighting grew brutal yet managing to exit the fortress with fire support as the Archangel had to discharge it's Lohengrin cannons for an emergency getaway. It was a clear coast, Kira couldn't spare shooting the already discarded beam rifle but he had managed to maim the Duel again with it and in the fighting chance, injured the GINN with orange highlights as well by discarding both of his knives. He was ready, almost too soon to call it-.And it was, as his Phase-Shift ran out in the escape, The pursuing Blitz cut off as the Archangel discharged a Gottfried cannon round to seal his getaway... Right as the Strike was tackled aside.Kira struggled, reflexively ticking the CIWS targetting systems on and-.Flinching within his cockpit as a voice he had only heard when Heliopolis began getting attacked immediately called his name"Kira Yamato... I promised I would kill you."Kira woke up then and there in his bunk, sweating cold and screaming out in terror just as he did in that moment.Covers within his bedding sticking to his glistening skin as he covered his forehead with both hands, recovering his breath. He didn't choose this, he wanted no part of it.He didn't want this lingering sense of dread running behind his back everytime he got into the Strike's cockpit for maintenance or coding. He wanted to be an system engineer... Not a Pilot at the verge of death with each deploymentBut it was only he who could pilot the Strike... And no one else could understand how that affected him.
Damn so the master data has already been transmitted. So killing Kira and the arch angel won't be a war ender anymore.
>>6383927The time had passed along with your own report of the whole situation at Heliopolis and then after...You tried to be truthful to it all but with some suggestions from Clyne that were handed by one of his aides and escorts. You, however, submitted it at much the same time as Athrun, both of you managing to peruse each others and finding yourselves puzzled at the different contexts conveyed within."The alliance's natural pilot-? Athrun, wasn't he-?" You saw him averting his gaze as you mentioned it, the clear discomfort letting you know what he meant by it "I guess it would be out-of-pocket to make it so close... But he's a coordinator isn't he-?""We can't have dissent or second-opinions for this summon" The uncharacteristic choice of words coming from Athrun made you raise an eyebrow before he passed a hand through their coat's chest "I... I mean that-"You lower his hand as he tries to excuse themselves "I understand that maybe it is an order from your father... I don't know anymore."The growing sentiment as the War starts reaching its one-year anniversary is very uncertain for you to even ascertain... A lot of moderates are not happy for the stalemate after the captire of the Fortress of Boaz and the public, while still worried at an existential level from the inciting actions. Haven't gone unlearned from all the failures and sacrifices. With the earthern front also not progressing in any significant way, a lot of people really do consider pulling back with all the existing alliances and to motion for the recognition of the PLANT colonies as a nation proper in peacetime negotiations, believing the N-Jammers could effectively curtain the Alliance's means of fighting back with excessive force. But the other side is arguing for it invalidating all the sacrifices made for the war, nevertheless the fact that such a peace is an effective sham birthed from idealists unable to picture anything but the best possible outcome for it.But even so... Athrun does feel less conflicted as he looks upon an announcement within a TV about the memorial for Junius Seven's destruction "Father's right... I can't let the Naturals get off scot-free or get the benefit of the doubt just because Kira was forced to join them. I have to be objective."You lower your lips in pursed thought, somehow not quite believing Athrun's words as you both reunite with Le Creuset proper.
>>6383983"So, you both submitted your reports, have you?"Le Creuset's affable question doesn't really faze either you or Athrun as you both remained stalwart at the pressure of being questioned by the council for this encounter.Truth be told, It's distracting you with the fact that in the interim of the meeting, the Green-Frame is undergoing technical evaluations much alike the Aegis was.Which reminded you that you had thought to present the Red-Frame's data as a piece of evidence along with the Green-frame.Something that Clyne held some reservations to as you had told him. Given the fact these Gundam Frame machines were built in askance from the Alliance by Morgenroete..."It does beg the question, and that question could kickstart a paranoia abound to people that are not nominally our enemies" Clyne mentioned it as such as he had considered during your conmute to Aprilius One "A Corporation is free to act as they do, but the baseless accusation only because of them being based in ORB... That I wish to avoid. The truth is, you agreed... But you also had to fully justify your being here in the first place, specially as the council finally adressed it's Natural-Pilot for the first time in person.>Present the full data of the Astray Frame machines, both to help understand their mechanics and to potentially unearth information>Only submit mechanically relevant information, to aid in fixing and researching Green and Red Frame variants.>Withhold the data to only ZAFT's mechanics, it's better to trend caution like Clyne suggested.>Write-in
>>6383990>Only submit mechanically relevant information, to aid in fixing and researching Green and Red Frame variants.
>>6383990>Withhold the data to only ZAFT's mechanics, it's better to trend caution like Clyne suggested.Damn it Arthrun, your bias is gonna get more people killed.OK I'll go with our sponsors idea. No data so they can't make red or green variants. Nor implicate ORB in this. With the added benefit of when this goes pear shape no one knows how to fight it.Does Clyne's faction get the data seperate from the military?
Clyne has a better sense of the politics, and is our ally. We could try to change things w8th the data but we risk speeding things up or making things worse ifnwe choose wrong. He'll also probably have a plan to justify the mcs presence since he's asked this.
>>6383990>Withhold the data to only ZAFT's mechanics, it's better to trend caution like Clyne suggested.
>>6383990>>6384302>>6384391You had it in your coat's pocket...By all means and ends, in a logical scenario. You should submit it as evidence, not only for ZAFT's development of weapons boldtered by the effectiveness of the hijacked G-Weapons but... Simply to be aware that Morgenroete was dealing with something else altogether. But that something had no answer clear-to-find and worse yet, sparked the pressing thought of why a Corporation benefitting the Earth Alliance would even feel the need to create their own, unaffiliated Mobile Weapons in secret. So, you ended up withholding uploading the disk's copies into the PLANT council's database, deciding this information would be best reserved for the engineers working on the Green-Frame directly. And that long, encompassing process of submitting everything, cleared out your immediate obligations as you waited out for Athrun to change into plainsclothes."Father wants to see me... I can't say I hadn't missed him all this time but..." Folding your green coat so as to better hide the data disk in your person you'd heard out Athrun stopping to pensively think by himself "Sorry if I'm being pushy Frieden. But these council meetings usually dictate the next plan of action in the war and Father doesn't want to get blocked by people after taking Boaz."You... Don't share the same sentiment. While not publically reproached, you knew well enough that the failures of the Grimaldi Front rested upon that man's shoulders. And in a way, the stalemate and ensuing small skirmishes after taking Boaz from the Alliance are in sheer direct fault of his own reckless, greedy planning."I guess it is what it is." not letting your true feelings in regards to Patrick Zala once again possibly calling for an offensive with all the data already processed, you tugged at the neck of your turtleneck as you restrained from possibly commenting far more dourly to who was, otherwise. The father of one of your fellow servicemen "I don't have much to do myself, besides worrying sick for everyone back chasing the archangel."To that point, Athrun came out of the fitting room, just as he shook theirbhead "Actually, I managed to get a direct line to XO Adres and Captain Margellan." you raise an eyebrow and tilt your head slightly at the rather opportune happening "Attacking Artemis made them refocus on resupplying from Heliopolis and they've also lost the trail on the Archangel... Margellan said they would wait for council orders before calling in some reinforcements."
>>6384969That... Slightly makes sense as Margellan kept complaining that he had and overflow of spare parts rather than workable mobile suits as he instated Miguel to their command. At least acknowledging that the Gamow and the Nemo wouldn't see action any time soon did ease up your worries.. though it did nothing for the fact you still had nothing to do for until the council meeting happened tomorrow. It didn't dawn upon you until just now that you... Don't have much going on by yourself in the PLANTs, just as you and Athrun made your way out from the Council building-.The car awaiting him being also followed by a open-roofed military car waiting just behind them, making you raise an eyebrow if anyone else would be exiting-."Hey, Goldilocks!" You flinched as a woman called out for you, the backrow door's seat opening as Athrun widened their eyes at the casually dressed woman in yoga pants and labcoat beckoning for you "You've got something I neee, better cough it up, Natural."You looke at Athrun as he seemed bewildered by the treatment, before the car he was supposed to take rolled down its window as the driver eyed the councilman's son.Silently, you both nodded off and went away to each of your separate obligations...[ https://files.catbox.moe/qkslf3.mp3 ]Yet, flinch as the first thing you get after getting on your ride is a tablet shoved into your hands, looking it well after the shock...Scanned schematics of the Green Frame in one window and a live-feed of it standing by itself that was denotated by it being muted."First off, can you tell your daffy pal to stop screeching stranger danger when we're trying to fix their system corruption?" The woman fixed up the back of her short hair as she looked upon her own tablet "Oh, and second thing... Go to hell for having me waiting for the blueblood to dress up."The atittude immediately rubbed you off extremely ill from a complete stranger but... That wouldn't be that strange coming from Margellan."Are you....-?" You ask sway only for the woman to unfold an ID card from within her labcoat."Civilian Contractor, Aile Donnahauer... Ephraime's really got the strangest tastes if he's now looking to hire and oversee Natural pilots." You were put off by the slight against the former chief engineer but settled on it as you tapped the tablet's window to the green frame."-I'd slap you all, I oughtta!" Garodo complained out fron speakers as they remained immobilized by pins."Garodo, they're doing maintenance on your system, just like the-." Your attempt to pacify the AI seems to go on deaf ears as its eyes still light on and off."Says you! I got turned on and all they're doing is trying to get invasive. The hell're you at?!" You sigh, acknowledging that Garodo's inherent protection of their system integrity couldn't be reasoned."I hope you have a better plan than promising Ice Cream once you're there."
"How the fuck did you get all this documentation, Natural?" Aile reviewed the red-frame's data along with their team of ZAFT mechanics as you settled comfortably in the green-frame's cockpit "We could barely get through a system analysis and these Notations only hinted but-.""Just cross-reference with what parts legible we have from Green-Frame's scan and run integrity recovery systems at your call to begin manually fixing the corruption" you comment ahead as you take a bite from the ice cream popsicle that were conveniently being sold on the way to the testing hangar. The work on the Green Frame itself took a noticeable improvement in speed from having Red Frame's data along with Margellan's own notation guiding away the ZAFT engineers in ticking out the mechanical details of the mobile suit.Yourself giving your own bits of help as you consulted with Garodo and any coding requests the team had being facilitated between you both."It's certainly a sweet-deal of a machine, that's for sure." Aile commented as you finished your snack "However... There's certainly some constraints I can immediately find." raising an eyebrow, you got a messaging request from the command post of the engineers. As a live video-feed was fowarded as you accepted it "See, the Vesalius also fowarded data on the G-Weapons since it was on their computers and I can immediately see issues when even comparing it to our latest production CGUE's." Aile's remarks are immediately denoted as the schematics of a CGUE and the Duel gundam were overlaid and then spread par with the Astray Frame's."The battery's shit." Aile dropped matter of factly as spreadsheet comparisons of performance outlayed across each of their batteries "Now, this may just be because in Comparison, the Gundams have to field and maintain Phase-Shift Armour, but you can clearly tell these were made with total secrecy by the fact the battery's at bare minimum.""So... What do you intend to do with that?" You ask away to the woman as she hums."I'm not fully done with these... But I can give out some prospect upgrades when it comes to the battery">Replace the Green-Frame's underperforming battery with a CGUE's, raising operation time at the exchange of potential issues from rigging>Improve the battery to be more in-line with the G-Weapons, with next-to-no possible drawbacks except the upgrade suite possibly not being completed until next deployment on the Nemo.>Refine the Astray Frame battery using combined data from them and the PLANTs, taking the least amount of effort and managing to aid PLANT's engineering yet not quite adressing the main issues of the battery, a bandaid fix
I'm confused about the last option. It extends the astray's life but not as much as the other options? Also it advances plants understanding so they can keep advancing it?Wouldnt that run counter to what we decided previously of not providing the technical data to the plants? Even if it's just the batteries.
>>6385041[The aid in this context is mostly conceivable in the next round set of upgrades the Astray Frame is getting, as Aile is not quite finished with laying them out]
>>6385045So we still have the power issues but the next set of upgrades get a boost or less time cost. Am I understanding that correctly?
>>6385051[There's a slight boost in comparison to replacing them with the CGUE's more potent but beam-weapon untested battery or the G-Weapons high-yield but laborous batteries, but yes.]
>>6385056If we chose the CGUE battery and didn't use beam weapons, would that dodge the rigging issue? Also how much of a power difference between it and the G weapons twice the run time? Three times?
>>6385069[A difference from the canonically mid-performance battery-yield of the Astray machines attested by the Blue Frame variants. Consider about a quarter to the Duel given that the G-Weapons batteries are good because of how energy intensive always-on Phase Shift can get. There'd be however some unforeseen consequences from now rigging ZAFT technologies wholesale into Alliance/ORB MS but that remains in the realm of possibility and testing]
>>6385078Does being the test case make things faster or can we choose the G weapon battery and wait for them to make a ZAFT variant?
>>6385081 [it's the difference between a CGUE and a Prototype GuAIZ battery performance, to say without spoiling]
>>6385030>Replace the Green-Frame's underperforming battery with a CGUE's, raising operation time at the exchange of potential issues from riggingOK I'm going to take the risk. Well just have to avoid the use of beam weapons until the kinks are worked out.Do we have a time table on how long it'll take for that? Hoping we can serve as a test case to speed things along.
The G batteries and no phase shift means longer operation times even with beam weapons.CGUE more power meaning longer operation times but uncertain beam weapon use. Where would the extra power go to? Thrusters? Or are there other energy intensive upgrades coming later?I'm not expecting an emergency before we have to deploy in the neemo and even if there was the Mc can pilot normal MS relatively well.
>>6385030>>6385085Changing to:>Improve the battery to be more in-line with the G-Weapons, with next-to-no possible drawbacks except the upgrade suite possibly not being completed until next deployment on the Nemo.On secomd thought I'll switch to this. We have no phase shift armor. So our operation timemin the Astray should already eclipse any other suit and I can't think of another use for that energy. We're also not really expecting much before the Nemo and if something happens we can roll out in that aircraft to fight.
>>6385030>Refine the Astray Frame battery using combined data from them and the PLANTs, taking the least amount of effort and managing to aid PLANT's engineering yet not quite adressing the main issues of the battery, a bandaid fix
>>6385030>>6385304>>6385494As she finished her potential schpiel about the benefits and drawbacks, your eyes were caught up by Garodo initiating a command textbox by the live-feed's corner "Man, does she drone on and on."You just shook your head to the impatient AI as you placed your own reply within the textbox "It is what it is, I can confirm I've had battery warnings beginning to blare when using Green Mirage in testing bouts."For their part, Garodo just let out an eletronic thrill "Okay, when you put it like that. It does begin to make sense... I'd really rather not get a part of me ripped out" The strange sentimentality from the AI weirded you out as Aile continued on about the CGUE's top-of-the-line but beam-capable engine... With some modifications."Can I take a third option?" You ask outright to the civilian engineer as they scoff."Third options always suck. That's my second opinion." As she regales her answer you still pursued it, mentioning performance upgrades that known Aces in your sphere had given to their GINNs "Fine! You want your stupid shit battery given a kick of life. I can accomodate it. Frees up time for the ZAFT boys to continue ahead with the other notable things" You arc an eyebrow as she finally yielded, not quite getting what was her endgoal.Until she brought up weaponry"Here's a tidbit about your rifle, it's different in design to the Duel's." As the weaponry spreads open up, Aile seems to denote the more focused bore size of the Duel's in comparison to your standard weapons "the... Specialized rifle's fine, it's very well designed with the design's constraints in mind, IF you don't lose it that is. Which is why I'm interested in your standard side-rifle" As the woman narrated away, she immediately pulled design schedules"These are all pretty much rough drafts altogether. They'd be workable but I can't guarantee their combat effectiveness until testing... The engies'd loved the practice with Beam weapons though>Modify the Type-71 Beam Rifle into a weaker, but faster fire-rate of shots as well as shortening its profile into a Submachine Gun>Modify the Type-71 into a weaker but nore convenient and energy efficient side-arm, A beam pistol, if you will>Modify the Type-71 into a stronger and longer range weapon, yet more cumbersome so It'd need to be carried separately, A Hi-Beam Rifle."Oh and another thing... We got these schematics reverse-engineered from Alliance weapons the Nemo found last week... Figured you might want to know since Ephraime was convinced we could make them and we're shipping a considerable amount his way." You arc an eyebrow, another video-feed opening up as...
>>6385764A ZAFT manufactured blade is present, labeled away in engraving as the MA-M4RA Carnwennan. My own opinion? Kind of pointless to have a vibrating toothpick, but command acknowledged the Heavy Blade for as cost effective it is, gets damaged from constant use in theoretical comparison... And some higher-up idiot went along with Margellan's idea of making a straight up replacement of the blade for it"You... Are even more confused by that tidbit as you ask away what she meant."Well, limited production's began on this... Vorpale Ensem project, I don't think it'll ever exit it because making the knives is cost-effective with the materials... Not like you'll need it, the axe-stock of your custom rifle uses the same vibrating components, but there's no denying the benefits..."You're left thinking on it for a bit, a bit unsure on how to forward this info.>Don't add Carnwennan's to the Green-Frame, if anything to spare the fusselage and panneling time for the hidden compartments>Add the Carnwennan's as emergency weapons for the Green Frame, you've heard the Strike and seen that mercenary use their own Alliance versions rather effectively and on recount.>Show interest in this Vorpale Ensem... Maybe add it as a part of the Green-Frame's loadout.

>>6385765>Show interest in this Vorpale Ensem... Maybe add it as a part of the Green-Frame's loadout.Since we didn't change the battery, I'd rather increase operation time by not using the beam sabers.>Modify the Type-71 into a weaker but nore convenient and energy efficient side-arm, A beam pistol, if you willSame reason for the guns, we're using a lesser battery.
>>6385764>Modify the Type-71 into a weaker but more convenient and energy efficient side-arm, A beam pistol, if you will>>6385765>Add the Carnwennan's as emergency weapons for the Green Frame, you've heard the Strike and seen that mercenary use their own Alliance versions rather effectively and on recount. It pays to have variety--we might not always need a big fuckoff sword, but it couldn't hurt to have the option to use it now and then if need be. As for modifying the Type 71 into a Beam Pistol; it makes sense, given that the Green Frame's custom rifle fills he intended role of primary beam firearm for the machine, and if we play our cards right, we might be able to refine the Beam Pistol into something that could eventually pack some serious punch despite its smaller size.
Rolled 1, 2, 1, 2, 2, 1, 2 = 11 (7d2)>>6385764>>6385765>>6385777>>6385812>>6386775>>6386921You've heard from Athrun that the Strike's own knives were effective in Artemis' assault. A tidbit he probably learned from asking the people involved with his direct line to the Nemo and Gamow. In a way, the Carnwennnan's don't seem like too much of an overhaul or upgrade to the Alliance-Made weapon but what did change is the way they could fold and store themselves within a Mobile Suit's compartments."How about that... A pair of them per compartment below the suit's skirt." Aile commented away as she added preliminary modifications to the Green-Frame's schematics "We'll take a moment to reinforce the frame for the Hydraulics and charging ports for them too, but overall, not too bad an ask for the Team." The woman sounded off calmly before letting out a sigh "You got the thing for the rifle's work? I won't lie to you. ZAFT brass wants the thing tinkered with because of it being expendable"That's comforting for your decision-making.However, you find yourself a bit stumbled on how to go with it, the Twin-Blade Rifle was bulky, but custom made for Green-Frame's functions and limits. What's with the long beam saber incorporated as a bayonet and the axe stock doubling for a power auxiliary melee in comparison to the beam sabers. So you... Tried to solve it as best as you could as you pulled a coin "What the hell are you doing?" Garodo chimed in the text box as you shrugged."Leaving it to chance." You answer as the robotic voice snickers for a second "What? You got a better idea to suggest?"Garodo's textbox once again lit up "Not optimally, my databanks only have theoretical performance data with the Standard frame-astray Rifle... Hopefully these new weapons won't be worse than untested conjecture."You shook your head to the snark from the machine as you flipped the coin in the air.
>>6387443Your answer came in quickly as Aile began showing you conceptual drawings of the complete reworking and miniaturization of the yet-experimental beam rifle."And with this, my hiring costs raise up from here on, I just hope some asshat doesn't try to claim my own designs for their own." Aile noticed away as she pulled back the schematics of the Green-Frame "Hell, I'm going to consider even making it small enough for it to be an integrated weapon too, the fluted armour's got the space for it." She seems to make a pregnant pause upon mentioning the Green-Frame's armour... Which made you raise an eyebrow as the live feed pulls again squarely focusing on the Astray's schematics."The armor... We recognized the components being patented away by scientists from the PLANTs, not my jurisdiction to theorycraft, but... It does raise the level of involvement Morgenroete had with these secret weapons." Aile questions for a moment as you ask away what she means "There is probable cause for thinking the corporation isn't pissing away funds, materials and knowledge for their own amusement or experimentation... Probable Cause, but no link."You understand a little bit more why Siegel was wary of the council obtaining the Astray's information as Aile goes into tangents about slight brushes with a potential donor wanting the machines purpose made... It falls back entirely to how Red Frame was made as the far more sturdy unit compared to Green Frame's purpose."Green Mirage." Aile sounds off the name of the particular system as you focus in on the live feed "It's a combination of sensors, Hydraulics, Thruster output and fluid response that essentially lends the pilot along with their support AI superior mobility and response times and a fluid manipulation of the whole suit's frame to avoid any incoming damage detected by the system... In a sense, it's given this one suit human-like reflex and motion to accompany it."Nodding to that, and more precisely getting why you hadn't managed to get struck heavily while piloting the Green-frame... It then begged her own questioning as she asked you to unseat some hydraulics from place. To your surprise, a rail along the backpack unit of the Green-frame allowing it to slide up or down, the hinging hardpoints remaining for use."There's no way I can coat your suit's armor in Phase-Shift when we only just got it unlike beam weapons... But with this sliding rail, I can try to cobble something">Make a mobility pack, able to raise speed and thrust of the Astray at the cost of making it a larger target>Design Assault Shroud into it, allowing it even more weapons and durability by way of armour plating in exchange for hampering the thrusters and finer motion of Green Mirage.>Decline and let the ZAFT engineers focus on the rest of their work output.
>>6387784>Make a mobility pack, able to raise speed and thrust of the Astray at the cost of making it a larger target2FAST2FURIOUSWhile Assault Shroud tech is used to increase durability, firepower, and mobility all in one go, the Green Frame is different enough from both standard ZAFT mobile suits and the G-Weapons that anything we do have would likely only hamper it. We're not Lowe Guele, so we can't think up some truly bullshit additions, so focusing on what the Green Frame can do well, which is mobility, feels like a no-brainer. Maybe we can slap together something using spare parts from the Duel's Assault Shroud backpack add-ons and go from there?
>>6387784>Make a mobility pack, able to raise speed and thrust of the Astray at the cost of making it a larger targetEmbrace your inner red comet! Too bad we're green. Hopefully as the tech matures we get a smaller pack. This will likely have more relevance in close range as a negative.
>>6387784>Decline and let the ZAFT engineers focus on the rest of their work output.
>>6387784>>6387927>>6387927While you had your own reservations in doing further digging and theorycrafting on the Astray's manufacturing and purpose which Aile seemed to prod at.You were eager to give out your advice and experience with the Green Frame proper now that it sliding rail for the backpack was found... As much experience you would have only really piloting it for a week. While it hadn't been made in direct comparison for you to more confidently mention it, calculations by Athrun and your own input had made it clear that the Green-Frame, outside of Green Mirage and even then in short burst. Was the mobile suit amongst the G-Weapons eith the least thrust and acceleration amongst them, possibly requiring that being accounted into the formation and more in-check, requiring aid from something like the Mobile Armor form of the Aegis to get around at par speeds."Well, that's hurtful." Garodo commented as you sent your notations for a possible mobility and sensors array pack "I'm theoretical superior to the CGUE in all respects!"You grimaced a little at the confident eroding from the AI textbox as you settled back into the pilot seat "Marginally so, and outside the Green Mirage's reflexes... I think we're on-par with the Duel."Garodo let out end marks in his textboxing as you awaited a reply from them..."Which one was it, that one?"You're a bit taken aback that he wouldn't remember Yzak... Then again with the data corruption and all. He would probably only be a digital consciousness aware for a week or so-.Clarifying the unit as the blue one with the low-temper pilot did however, ring a bell for Garodo as they let out an annoyed buzz "Man! You're whack! I ain't going to be compared to that trash heap and blueblood, In fact!"Garodo starts sending out information through the connected database, the livestream suddenly getting heated as Aile is asking what exactly you were doing...Only for a minute to pass after the upload of data, her yelling and hawking coming to an end."Interesting... A bit hard to replicate. But interesting"
Jeep the Astray really socks. All it has is nimbleness and beam weapons. Compared to the G weapons it's inferior in every way.
>>6389179it sucks FOR NOW, at least. If the progression taken by the Red and Blue Frames in canon are of any indication, the Green Frame, at least while it's in our possession, ought to have some crazy potential.
>>6388968In the end, you had pitched out along with Garodo having sent design ideas for the extra equipment backpack.Exhausting the rest of the day as you and Aile were escorted out of the premises "We should start in earnest by tomorrow, gonna take a while to begin machining parts and cracking designs overnight" Aile stretches out their upper body as the short-haired tan-skinned woman let put a yawn "Lucky you, essentially being given a month's of shore leave. Don't go too ham out on town, will you?"You just let out a tepid white lie as a reply, now acknowledging the fact that you busied your time with only ZAFT training and FLUGG testing. You'd even have the recognition of the armed forces, however minour that would actually be-.So as you took your steps, silently as possible, you raisee your hand towarss the door with careful trepidation...Caution that suddenly betrayed as the peephole's mechanism audibly clicked, yourself only managing to see from the other side a blurred image of a man in a council uniform-.Before your instinct told you to instantly recoil back, a hunch proven right as the lock in your apartment's breached by a singular frangible slug, the door being kicked inside-.And yourself immediately grappling with Military Police as you rest the night-stick of the fist one to charge in off their hands, shoulder-checking them against the wall before slamming the collapsible blunt cudgel onto the one armed with the shotgun-.Your racing heart and nerves cleared in as the MP behind you stood up, yourself quickly reacting as you smack their right arm with the nightstick and weave from below their guard as you kneed them int the gut!You would have continued, were it not for your body to instinctually react as the clicking hammer of a handgun stops you dead-in-your-tracks."You... You widen your eyes as you recognized it but you...You couldn't believe it as the man commands you to face them, slowly, the the remaining MP checking on their injured partner as your hunch proves right."Councilman Mackenzie?"
>>6391074You were at a loss of words to even express the confusion you've had upon realizing the man pointing their handgun at you.It rested upon them, to open up as you got the picture in full "You... My son was killed and you couldn't do anything to save them?" His words hit you deeply as you felt the air leaving your lungs.You... You didn't want them to die but... But he's-."You've made a damned reputation out of going out of your way to save Coordinator lives. So why couldn't you with my son, Huh?!" The man closes in as he pressed the handgun to your forehead "Why is my son dead, Natural?! Why didn't you save him if he believed in you so much!" He... He really did?"You'll make it up to me, damn it... After the council meeting, I'll have a spot for a recruitment drive... A mock debate, I want you to be there and say precisely the things I want the nation to understand for why we fight."You flinch for a moment but... That's a far-shot, what if the proceedings get extended? The man retires their handgun as you asked away over the precise nature of the meeting... It could take the whole day-."Patrick predicted we'd have a clearer verdict in less than three hours time... Not like Le Creuset, Zala's son or your Natural opinions and observation matter."You were estranged away, as the MP's and the Councilman took their exit from the broken-into apartment.Leaving you to ponder on what previsely he meant that your opinion wouldn't matter. It became far clearer after the fact, The day afterwards.
>>6391118"Those who call the Earth their home are not to be trusted"That was the strong thoughtpiece Supreme Commander of ZAFT, Patrick Zala had reached to after an hour of deliberation and testimony over the meeting in regards to Heliopolis' destruction. The human costs and the capital actions committed against diplomatic neutrality outright forgotten as the nature of the G-Weapons and their location within Morgenroete's Heliopolis colony facilities, along with the ease of access the Alliance had docking replaced them as concerns of priority.Perhaps, more glaringly, as much as Athrun and Le Creuset had gotten moments to explain their cases... That did not extend to you. the councilmen holding you in silence as your partner and commander took priority on clarifying the facts of the operation. You'd looked over to Siegel Clyne, as the Council deliberated that while no proof was made of a connection, that Morgenroete operated independently from ORB's national apparatus. An inconclusive and you even have to argue, Hopelessly naive explanation to Colony authorities not denying a full-on fleet from docking within their installations, let alone the recently discovered factoid that the Archangel battleship had been derivated from an ORB Union design."Even so... We're to believe that the efforts of the South American and Oceanian unions, weathering the might of the Alliance as we endeavoured in the gravity front are null and void from your point of view?" Ezalia Joule commented as she seeked to reign in the more oppressive feelings the council had spurned by Zala's words."Perhaps." The man just responded as the woman raised her eyebrow inquisitively "Their cooperation has been motivated by Siegel allowing and promising material and food securities in exchange for the support of our movement... Take those away and I would not be unfounded that they would turn likewise as if we were dealing with the Sponsor nations once more."You want to be able to communicate something, but Clyne and the people like-minded like him seem to not be able or even interested in refuting the points made by Zala and the councilmen equally like-minded to them."Even after taking Boaz, the Alliance is dissolute between each of their members... If the Atlantic Federation is the only one to toy with the concepts of Mobile Suits with this ammount of success. What could Moscow or Beijing, who allow Coordinators in their ranks have come upon?" A councilmember resounded as you noticed Athrun look downturn... Just as you were beginning to feel fed upAnd... You feel exceptionally voiceless to be here amongst the Council only for them, even Chairman Clyne. To ignore you as if you didn't exist.
>>6391556>Speak out of turn, reveal the fact the Strike's pilot aboard the Archangel is a Coordinator>Speak out of turn, Bring up as much as you know is concrete about Morgenroete's own Astray Frame project>Speak out of turn, Remark in behest that this same kind of rhetoric is to blame for such failures as Grimaldi and the early days of the Gravity Front.>Remain silent, observe what the Council shall do.
>>6391557>Speak out of turn, Remark in behest that this same kind of rhetoric is to blame for such failures as Grimaldi and the early days of the Gravity Front.I'm in-between this and.>Speak out of turn, reveal the fact the Strike's pilot aboard the Archangel is a CoordinatorThe second might piss off Athrun but it disrupts his father rhetoric and fear mongering about how they're just facing Naturals, how much better they can make the weapons. Problem also is we contradict Athruns report and who are they more likely to believe? The first option I'm not sure what the effects are except pointing out a repeated tactical issue.
>>6391590What would even really be the point in revealing the pilot is actually a coordinator anyway? Does it really do that much damage to Patrick's rhetoric?Or honestly even about leading to the failures of those fronts, is that likely to make even a slight stir among the council? Even behind closed doors after we depart?
>>6391667Revealing it was a coordinator that did those things, makes this a nation v nation conflict instead of a race vs race. Second one of the base assumptions they're runnung on is if this is dangerous now what happens when coordinators are involved. By saying a coordinator is already involved and thus why this is so dangerous right now, we undercut that point. As for pointing out their failures at the Gravity Front. If I remember correctly they did something similar to this push due to Zala and ended up in a worse position and yet they wanna do it again. The two options in my opinion is how we're attacking the rhetoric. Through past precedent or through attacking something seen as a fundamental truth. The US vs them arguement. We can't let it go unopposed or this ends like canon. With this idea rooted in everyone's minds and pushing Zala to an unassailable position.
>>6391557>Speak out of turn, Remark in behest that this same kind of rhetoric is to blame for such failures as Grimaldi and the early days of the Gravity Front. And if we get any sort of opportunity after interrupting,>Speak out of turn, reveal the fact the Strike's pilot aboard the Archangel is a Coordinator>>6391679Makes good sense to me. Even just planting a SEED of doubt seems a good idea, though it may put us in a poor position with the council in the short-term, and piss off the Zala-aligned.
This also doesn't allow them to ignore the Gorilla in the room. The Natural that has done the impossible. Zala is purposely minimizing out role and participation because we run counter to his rhetoric by existing.
>>6391682Well being too passive is part of the reason the Clyne faction had to sit things out until the end. Hopefully by creating an opening they can argue a better case.
>>6391682If your talking about Rusty's pops, the Mc has the least amount of fault. He wasn't even there and yet he got the guilt trip, instead of Arthrun whose actively making the mission harder after failing to convince Kira.If we say nothing out of guilt or loyalty it'll just get more killed long term, by making this a race war. Rusty's pops knew the Mc had the influence to make a difference and he could disrupt the kangaroo court if he decides to interject.
>>6391684Hmm, by that metric, then wouldn't it be better to just say that there's already a coordinator fighting against their efforts, straight up protecting naturals? And then of course there's us who's in the same room, and the other black-bands who fight for ZAFT, even if they've been minimized to the n-th degree.By comparison just saying "yeah but like, didn't this go badly before bro?" seems almost like just attacking Zala directly instead of a basic assumption.>>6391689We can only hope.>>6391693Well, there's a reason Zala got so much influence in the end in canon, besides assassinating his opposition of course. He swayed people to him, that guy included, so I'm assuming there's a pretty strong bloc of support for him already that will only grow in time.
>>6391696Remember the Black Bands can't even pilot and yet the Mc can. He also tied with Zala's son, the elite. Saved countless coordinator lives, to the point he became known for it. The MC probably has alot of public if not political influence he's not aware of.As for the gravity front. Remember they gave the Mc a mobile armor instead of a mobile suit. They mass conscripted people before they were ready and they were too arrogant on their push. Which lead to major casualties. Yet they're getting high on their supply again!
>>6391557>Speak out of turn, reveal the fact the Strike's pilot aboard the Archangel is a Coordinator
>>6391557>>6391590>>6391682>>6391789It was then and there that the conversation turned towards the results of the operation, rather than its costs."Captain Le Creuset, was the capture of these mobile suits at least worth the effort and losses in the operation?" Zala broached in to close the discussion, Le Creuset being summoned to stand as he looks around the council surrounding them."As mentioned in the after-action reports and from data gathering of the G-Weapons systems. I am in good faith to believe as much, as has been said amongst this very group." Le Creuset repeats after a few lines he had been summoned to answer previously "However, I would like to summon Athrun Zala. Current pilot of the Aegis Gundam and with enough hands-on experience fighting the archangel's own remaining unit to make a judgement."Athrun raises an eyebrow at being called, looking beside towards you before taking in the opportunity, after Clyne allowed the testimony to be shifted around.Getting up as you noticed their nerves from directly having to answer one of the questions heralded to Le Creuset, Athrun raised their arm into their chest as a salute before introducing their machine."One majour characteristic of the G-Weapons relies on their operating systems." After a while of proclaiming around the specific specs and equipments of the captured G-Weapons, Athrun soon hit their stride into their general equipment "After getting it cleaned up and reformatted for Coordinator use. It is an implicit upgrade in maneuverability and response times from the previous manual control systems we've had for years." Athrun moved ahead as he presented captured footage from your attempt to capture the strike... Pre-ambling himself. As he uttered something that did not stick right with you, ever since yesterday."Advantages enough to leave a Natural to pilot on our level, including all respective technological advantages."This seemingly shocked the council, as not only the G-Weapons had superior firepower and armour...It meant the clear gap between Natural and Coordinator was being cinched in artificially and that attacked the ideology of superiority the PLANTs prided themselves on.
>>6392450The council began deliberating as Athrun sat back down along with Le Creuset."With just these five mobile suits... Damn Naturals! Their history of war begets them to create these weapons to opress us!" A Councilman of trade slammed their side of the desk with their fist."Control yourself, Ameria... They couldn't have gone this far into making more, their data outright says they were prototypes and proof of concepts along with that ship." Joule reigned in most of the panic with that statement... Before suddenly befelling her own logic "But the next logical step after they were planned to be-... Some parts of them could be in mass-production."The council began discussing fiercely amongst the situation, as you felt increasingly pushed into doing something to even let your voice be heard.Something... That you had to break apart the doubts amongst the council as you stood up and took to a stand."That- That can't be quite right!" You try to reign in as the Council looked down on you "Former Chief Engineer Ephraime Margellan headed some testing in the OS that is also on the Green-Frame Astray. The OS was borderline unfinished and field-reports confirmed that the Creuset Squad had to reformat the code in order to take off!"There's eyes ontop of you and... You just feel their condescendion rolling onto you as their silence was broken "Speak when asked to, Natural. We-!"You aren't going to stop now when it's-! "Even I, an experienced pilot and Endymion survivor couldn't manage to pilot it without need of a reformatting virus to retrograde manual OS control and even then, I require a dedicated support AI to use the machines in full function!" The objections seemed to drop down as the heft of what you're saying seems to dawn on them... The G-Weapons may be this powerful, but if they couldn't be piloted properly..."What does that change, Natural If the Alliance already has one working machine. Nothing stops them from making the adjustments required for it to function. How shall you explain the Strike Gundam?"An ultimatum given to you by none other than Patrick Zala... Looking deadset as if you had no way to answer it properly. You stumbled, acknowledging Athrun as his eyes widened in quiet panic... You made a promise to it and-...But... But this truth matters, it... It's essentialy to even give you a foot to stand up as you've been quietly supressed for an hour and a half."That's because... The Pilot of the Strike is a Coordinator."
>>6392459"What?! Is this true?! All the data that was unearthed makes the machines developed by the Atlantic Federation...!""But that means we've been repelled from complete victory by a Traitor?! I don't know how you've come into this information, but I want their name and head...!""Why would they be aiding the Alliance?! I can't fathom betraying our struggle this much to...- We need to capture them and their unit, that can't be allowed...!""How would you all, respected officers of the PLANT colonies believe the drivel spoken by a Natural that speaks out of tone!?" Patrick tried to take control of the situation as questions arose from your information "Hear your own words and clear all doubts, He could be lying-!"You clench down your teeth at being supressed more directly, anger beginning to stimulate and let your more reasonable sense of control falter "You would know this if you've read my reports! I did not mention the Coordinator pilot. But mine and many other annotations have been in it!"There's a lull in the arguments as suddenly, the Council's projector began getting filled with notations and documents.Your own report as you give out a scant look at it, Multiple councilmen baffled at seeing it."He made a report...! Why was I not informed of this prior like Le Creuset's and Zala's-?!""Watch your tone, Councilman Zala! I was an Endymion Survivor before taking office, Even if a Natural. I would not be presently here if it wasn't for their emerging from the Cyclops trap and warning our entire fleet of it.""This seems farfetched! We were missing information and we want to adjourn this meeting this very same day-?!""Order!"It was only by Siegel's Clyne command that the table fell silent, his own analysis of the situation suddenly acknowledging that Zala had fell in line instead of leading it around.Just as you turned, Athrun's restrained but clear sheer horror at the situation enveloped right down to Clyne calling Le Creuset to stand."I understand that as his commanding officer, you take responsibility for what your men say upon as fact... Rau Le Creuset." Siegel impounds upon the masked man as he waited for the command, yourself standing between the council's stand "Is what Frieden Moon says true?"The man... Only gave a quaint smile as he answered, Athrun's eyes growing wide in panic as he covers their mouth."Absolutely, All of it is True."
>>6392474The meeting was given a brief recess, an hour as much while the newly unearthed information was processed and the Clerical error that led to your report outright being missing for reading was investigated.And... Even after letting your voice and your own thoughts be heard and understood by the Council. You feel terrible, no less exemplified as Athrun confrontrd you outside.[ https://files.catbox.moe/hw9y46.mp3 ]"What is wrong with you?!" As he corners you, slamming their arm to your chest as they pin you to a wall, the young man glares at you "I told you that because I trusted you'd keep it secret! You forced Le Creuset to even admit to it!"You stifled trying to explain yourself, knowing full well Athrun, in his current emotional state. Would just lash out harder. But you had to admit one thing."I was ignored near all of the council meeting... I felt like I got pulled into the Homeland for no reason or purpose if I only had stayed quiet." You tried to explain yourself as Athrun pulled off your, struggling from visibly punching you outright as they turned their back on you."Then you should have remained silent...! Damn it, Frieden! You're a Natural!" As he turned towards you, hands raised into a fighting stance... "You're stepping into the most important and sacred place for all Coordinators and you insist on letting your voice be heard over us all?!" You're shocked for a moment, Athrun himself suddenly realizing the weight of their own words as he chokes, suddenly reaching down and departing from the hallways they had cornered you as you looked down.True... There is some truth to his words. In particular with the date as you take heed of an official state media announcement running on a TV.The soon upcoming Memorial for Junius seven anniversary filling your mind as you waited for the recess to end, as well as the meeting to reconvene.>Go search for Athrun and at least, apologize for breaching his trust.>Go looking for Siegel Clyne and try and seek some guidance.>Go outside and take a breather from the tense atmosphere of the meeting>Kill time and wonder... What could the Archangel be doing at this very moment?
>>6392506>Go looking for Siegel Clyne and try and seek some guidance.
>>6392506>Go looking for Siegel Clyne and try and seek some guidance.Screw Athrun, he had his chance. This misinformation could have gotten others killed, on top of igniting a race war. All for one person. If Kira wasn't mecha Jesus seed would have ended very differently.
>>6392506>Go looking for Siegel Clyne and try and seek some guidance.Athrun's a hothead who says terrible things in the heat of the moment, especially if his feelings get hurt. He has to have seen just how terribly we were being treated until we managed to get ourselves out of hot water with the council, so the best thing for now is to give him some space while he wrestles with his own bullshit for a bit.
>>6392506>Go looking for Siegel Clyne and try and seek some guidance.Wow, Athrun is an a-hole, bro seriously expected us to be bottom bitch for Coordinator betters just so he can be loyal to his bestie. Literal 'Why Can't you take the L for me' energy
>>6392611It's not even just that. You see the leaps of logic they were doing and how his father was taking advantage of it to further his agenda. Athrun was willing to allow all of that and the deaths that would follow for a beastie he hasn't met in years.Look at Rusty, knew him for longer and yet he doesnt mourn him. Allows the strike and the piloting data to reach earth, further escalating the war just to cover for Kira.>>6392595Nah he absolutely means it at this point. Hie mom died to nukes. He's not as racist as his pops but he's racist on the inside until later in the series where Kira can open his eyes.
>>6392629I like how Athrun goes through basically the same character arc two times over the course of two series. Really says alot about what kinda guy he is.
>>6392506>>6392557>>6392568>>6392595>>6392611You couldn't do anything but weather the ill feeling that Athrun had left you with hanging by your chest. As you searched within the facility, passing by ZAFT members anxious about the following orders when the council meeting reconvenes and civil servants getting paper trails over the missing report. You found him then and there, the Supreme Chairman of the PLANT council sitting down upon a chess table, rubbing their chin inquisitively at the half-played board."Chairman Clyne." You call out to them as the older man gave you a polite bow upon noticing you approach "I thought'd to look for you during the recess but... I guess I didn't really think acting out on my own would-" You get silenced by the man as he raises their hand calmly."I can understand what you did... Certainly, I too, wouldn't want to have been dragged from the frontlines only to be subjected to politics." The man admits as much as he invites you to sit by the opposite side of the table. He looked off, waving his hand around as two personal guards noticed, the hidden order implied as the two of them vacated the place from prying eyes and listening ears before holding guard just outside of it.As much as it estranged you why that would be needed... All he needed was to talk in order to let why to be known "How... Are you feeling? After Artemis had fell, that is?" You looked down upon the playing board as he mentioned the incident hanging still by your head."Not any better, since I keep trying to avoid looking at recounts and numbers." You mention as much as the man nodded, understanding the sensitive topic while not prying too much into it... Though you find yourself a bit more confused by the state of the table."Ah, Patrick and I had been carrying out a game until he was called for a deposition before we proceeded with the meeting... Do you play?"You have to shake your head to it "I was a little bit more of a fan of active games rather than sitting on a table for an hour or two growing up... But I do know how, Why?" Asking abound, the older man gets up from their seat as they pull it back politely."I guess it would help illustrate my point as we go... Mind if we switch sides for a moment?"
>>6392673One of the main things you notice, as you exchange spots in thebplaying board with Chairman Clyne. Is that your side of the board is considerably taken compared to theirs."Very well then, I move." Clyne takes the first step ahead as he moved one of their Knight forth, threatening your last remaining pawn as you reflexively pushed ahead to save it "It is a tragedy for the ear to have almost reached a full year of starting... And in doing so, it makes gauging the public far more difficult for it"You moved your pawn ahead, before getting locked out of moving it forwards, one of your Bishop's in danger as you take a knight from Siegel's position."The PLANTs were originally made to research and develop new technologies upon space, by Coordinators who escaped persecution from earth... As our national identity, we have no traces or roots in war or conflict." You listen in before Siegel expertly puts you into check, your King menaced by his remaining knight and Queen as you're forced to sacrifice your last rook."I... Guess I understand?" you answer to Siegel's wordz making the general outlook of the council begin to make slight sense... Despite the clear separation they make from Coordinator to Natural. The PLANTs want to live in peace, but in doing so, they want to cut ties and control their own destiny from the Earthern blocs that pushed them forth... The conflict brewed within that context naturally draws in the comparison and excision between the two as separate beings specially given the heavier parts of oppression began when the PLANTs demanded independence. You manage to pass your lone pawn into the end of the board, transforming it into a Queen as you keep sacrificing your remaining pieces for the queen."You know, unrelated to this all... It is a shame you couldn't meet my daughter as you arrived." You raise an eyebrow to what he means as you calculated your next move "The preparations for Junius Seven's memorial had called her to survey the area it's in... She certainly would like to meet the Mind-Killer of Endymion in person. But that is not here nor there." You moved the newly minted Queen to check their King, having over-extended their side of the board chasing for your own."Everyone did seem to consider moving forth with the war now that we hijacked the Alliance's tech..." You mentioned watching as Siegel backed out from your King in one move."Unfortunately... That is the will of the people, to use that technology to end the war in our favour... This, I cannot stop, No one really can."And with a long stride of their rook.Checkmate.
>>6393008What followed afterwards as the council meeting reconvened, seemed almost like unfurling a planned upon.Patrick Zala, explaining the origins and the desires for the PLANTs freedom and prosperity, stifled by the desire for control and the history of war and conflict of the human race giving out precise tutelage...All in all, it sought to re-establish the priorities of the early days of the Gravity Front, Operation Ouroboros. The entry of the N-Jammer's into the earth's orbit"If we are not to act now, the Alliance, as demonstrated by these G-Weapons will manage to have the power to turn on us, it is imperative we move. Not this time with Bluster and confidence on their already dominated territories. But with swift retribution and the sheer industrial and technological might of the PLANT colonies."Patrick explained themselves... As well until his supporters within the Senate stopped to consider one thing. The Archangel... And their Coordinator Pilot. Kira Yamato."That ship... Wether it be sunk or captured, we cannot allow it to link back to the Alliance with its collected data... As for the pilot, I care not for Traitor's for our struggle. Capture or Terminate them."And that marked the end of the meeting, as you tried to reach up to Athrun for a moment, himself frowning as you approached before trying to keep a more curt appearance."Frieden... I don't want to talk to you... Not at this moment." Athrun distanced away from you as he awaited for someone to exit along the remaining councilmen...And you decided to take note of that leaving as you realized you had that mock debate with Councilman Mackenzie...Until you found yourself suddenly cornered by ZAFT blackcoats blocking your path in a hallway, raising an eyebrow before another one from behind you grabbed and pulled by your shoulder-Only to panic at the last moment, finding yourself slammed into the hallways' wall by none other than Patrick Zala as they lock eyes with you at the same level."I have no clue why Siegel still entertains your presence in our fight, Natural. But learn your place within it and do not dare to try and counter my will."The man lets go of you, the entourage of blackcoat officers moving along with him as you're left briefly stunned by the threat.You... Started getting why Athrun and even Siegel were aware on why imposing your will into the Council was an ill-prepared move... Yet the one you had to take nonetheless by the latter's admission.
>>6393032Making your way out of Aprilius One to Seven for the headquarters of the state media...It was immediate then what you were planning to do as you saw the band of green, red and white coats upon the studio. The mock debates directions were to assuage the public over the renowned focus of the war, as the memorial for Junius Seven slowly peered itself forth. It was to reignite their call for retribution for it.And... Of all things. It was your call as the Black-Band pilot of ZAFT to indicate to your fellows in rear echelon and support duties to give their lives for this push."Truly, I'd thought the Media was lying to me after Endymion. No way in hell they'd allow a damn Natural like you to join the forces", A redcoat Ace comments as you're waiting for your turn to show up."I... Get that a lot outside of the Creuset Squad's ranks." You try and maintain a good humour as you read off the scripted answers you have in hand."I guess you did earn that spot in the elites... However you do, that Squad's allegedly nearly wiped itself out taking those suits." As a white coat crossed their srm, you tilt your head a frown lightly at what they're supposed to mean."Yeah, nearly all their pilots died, Think I'd heard that the Shooting Star of Dawn from Boaz got removed from their ranks too as well. Shame how we're promoting a screw-up of this-"."Shut the hell up." You pulled by the redcoat trying to drag your squad's reputation down "We sacrificed nearly everything in getting these technologies from the Alliance... What do you think would happen if we'd let them to be finished back at-." Your peaking anger seemingly not changing their unflappable expression as they looked towards you."At the Neutral Colony you all destroyed in the process."You're stunned by the cruel reality of his words, even as the mock debate began...Because even as you tried defending the cause for it... You still participated in it and-.Ultimately acknowledging that your own actions, no matter how much you lamented them were yours to own up.>Play along with the script, knowing the people need to understand the war could turn up in intensity.>Follow along the spirit of the script, you've lost close people in your deployment... Let that be known to the public>Ditch the script and try to speak your own mind, the war is definitely becoming rougher and the populace has to know with honesty, what that could mean.>Write-In

>>6393048>Ditch the script and try to speak your own mind, the war is definitely becoming rougher and the populace has to know with honesty, what that could mean.If I get Clyn's point is no matter what we did, this decision was inevitable because it's the will of the people. The people dont understand war and thus can't fathom the cost of their actions. So I'm going to choose the action that makes them confront that reality and give respect to the dead. They'll understand their zealots is more to blame for a neutral colonies fall then the soldiers who pulled the trigger.Anyway as much as I don't like Zala, he is correct about finishing off Kira.
>>6393066I'm not so sure that's what he was saying. If anything, I think he's saying that it doesn't matter what anyone says. The foundation of the PLANTS is inextricably linked to Coordinator life within, and any sort of message to the contrary is doomed to failure immediately. And the chess game was depicting the fact that it's not really possible for the PLANTS to survive against the earth, I think the queen we minted is the capture of the G-Weapons, or maybe even GENESIS, (though I actually think that'd be demonstrated by flipping the game table). So I actually think we should look at this as maybe an opportunity to do something else. Option 1 is just following the script leading to getting checkmated, Option 2 is doing 1 but making it public that we care for those close to us, and Option 3 is fighting the tide for no clear gain.I'm uncertain of what we could say in the context of this debate to actually say something that could shift progress meaningfully somewhere.
>>6393102Eh then I'd rather go out swinging with the third option then allow this farce.
