Alright, I'll bite. First off, I didn't even vote for a female character, but this is just nonsense on your ends. All the information about the characters focus on their combat capabilities, with no accompanying pictures or descriptions emphasizing anything about their sexual character. The accusation of anons being coomers just doesn't apply here. Not to mention there is a decent split between the sniper, the tank, and the fast characters. Hardly everyone.

That sentence was more addressed to the other anon. Though to be blunt, I'm lumping you two together because I assume you also don't like the way things are going for the same reason. If I'm wrong, I'm wrong. But if it isn't coomer complaints, it'll be "I can't emphasize with female characters", or /u/boat salt, or "female protags are overdone".

I did count the votes, 054 literally has the second most votes. You are right that a FeMC is getting a lot more votes though. Nothing more to say if this is the extent of why you are mad.
>>
>>6390952
Female protags are played differently from male protags, and I prefer how the latter are played.

Ya'll are actual little children and so grew up with ipads instead of Newgrounds, I'm sure, but this quest is set in the world of Diseased's 'Thing-Thing' games. Pic related is a recurring antagonist, another bioweapon, her name is #153.

That's what we're going to look like.
No one is cooming to this.
People are voting for the character with the powers they like because it's the only info we have that actually matters.

Aside from all of that, please just grow up? It's sad enough that you are so fragile about the prospect of a story featuring a woman, but to the point you actually type up a post sniffling and crying about it like the rest of us are supposed to pity you, I mean, it's fucking embarrassing. Just play something else. No one else gives a shit you're allergic to women, you don't need to clue us in.

>>6390958
I remember this guy from another quest, one with three protag perspectives. The first and second were male, third was female. The second she was announced the guy had a sperg out and decided to shit up the thread by ranting about something he read on /pol/.

If he does it again, just report the little shit.
>>
>>6390958
>No one is cooming to this.
Again, not the one who said "muh coomers", I don't dislike female protagonist because of "coomers" because the coomers just take to the female side characters instead.
>>
>>6390968
That's cool bud - since it seems like you wanted to read the post popcorn style, check out the next immediate sentence after that one, and then the last one in the post.
Just get a real problem.
>>
>>6390971
>"YOUR the REAL crybaby"
he says as he has meltdown because someone said they don't like female protags
>>
>>6390953
While I agree that male and female characters have different archetypes and tropes associated with them, and that often colours char gen options and how people play them, it isn't always the case that characters conform to their most stereotypical associations like 'guys swing, girls shoot'. Just as an example, one of the many dead quests littering this board SCUMWORLD has the physically strong character selection option be a woman.

But while your apparent reason is valid, I just don't believe you. Otherwise you'd be complaining about everyone picking the sniper or the fast character instead of the tank, instead of emphasizing their sex.

>>6390965
To be fair, even with the diminishing population of this board, it might not be the same guy. Anti-female protag anons have been a staple of quests almost as long as they've existed.
>>
>>6390980
>it isn't always the case that characters conform to their most stereotypical associations like 'guys swing, girls shoot'.
Not the point, either. It's not a matter of "female protagonists are coombait/generic/this/that/this"

It's simply the fact that they tend to be noticeably different from how male protagonists act. This doesn't mean it's always in a specific way, it means that it will always be different from how a male protagonist acts. And as a tendency, I prefer the latter.
>>
I don't get why this dude is complaining so much when at the end of the day, it's just a game.
This is a very silly thing to get so riled up about. I think the QM will do a good job no matter what.
>>
>>6390980
You're wasting your effort. He'll fuck off when the game starts anyways. He voted up there and specifically said he is choosing the male with the most options because he is male, and not because of his power set - i.e. he is a gender brained weirdo and doesn't care about what this game is actually about.
>>6390983
Small life, emotionally reactive. Clearly can't shame him into shutting the fuck up, so arguing with him just shits up the thread. I agree, the QM clearly cares about the source material with the cool formatting in the intro. This dork will bail and we'll be better off for it.
>>
Yea OP please ignore the autist. I don't care what biological sex our protag is--I just wanna see where this quest goes

Anyways, gonna count votes for fun.
012: xBt, S0T, gVs, 2I1, ZmM
086: 3V3, mnQ, eqK, KUm, j7f, MBi, gst, khe, A/v, oRk
054: pyb, 1ST, fcS, 7Ys, 4HA, R3i, YSN, jf+
114: W7c

Personally I do like tank builds, so I would've voted for 054, but I think being able to parry things is incredibly fun. The only one I feel generally meh about is the jack of all trades option. Specialization is more fun, imo
>>
>>6391000
He knows he's being disingenuous trying to reframe his whiny hand-wringing as just a neutral preference. Troll at best, not worth your time either way.
>>
>>6390982
Okay, that's valid. I don't agree with the 'always be different', emphasis on the 'always'. While distinct from "I can't emphasize with a femc", it seems fair to lump them together as similar reason, I should've added an etc to the end of my prior statement.

Lets stop here, we've derailed enough. I've caught a 1 day ban for a similar derail at the start of a quest before.

>>6390983
>>6390993
To be fair, his responses are pretty minimalist. It is part of why I thought/still kinda think that he is just baiting. Not super riled up or engaged, possibly just dragging out higher effort responses for minimal response. We can never truly know.

Lets stop shitting up the thread. It takes two to tango and all that.

I can't type at length on my phone for replies but I'll try to address the arguments and say I have a similar aversion to FeMCs most of the time but I'll elaborate that the sex choice in this is mostly just aesthetics. I hope that it isn't too divisive of an attribute.

Additionally yes, this quest is based off the Thing-Thing series but due to it wrapping up well enough I'm using my own background to make something I believe will better fit the quest format. There will be similarities and deliberate expys.

Finally if I've counted right #086 takes the lead. I readied a more general post last night as I started the quest later than I wanted to so I'll do a few edits and ready it in case I miscounted the vote.
>>
>>6391043
>I hope that it isn't too divisive of an attribute.
It's only one guy complaining about it. I'm fine with it as long as you write an engaging quest. May #086 parry a billion bullets.
>>
>>6391019
Oh wait, are you talking about that one quest that immediately died? Middle Eastern setting, wise man, something else, and then a dancer girl for char gen options? Or something else? There's been a few semi-recent shitstorms over gender at char gen. My memory has been stirred from the pic.

>>6391001
I was thinking of 114 as being like characters such as Point Man from FEAR, or Subject 106 from Trepang 2.

You are Subject #086. You have spent the entirety of your short life within the confines of this facility. Moving through is empty halls followed by scientists and guards. Honing your body and mind against whatever test they put to you as they prodded, injected, and monitored you. A stream of endless days each as unremarkable as the last, all ending with you swallowing the small colored capsules they handed you and drifting into a nearly dreamless slumber.

Your eyes split open to the muffled sounds of gunshots. Instincts carry you faster than your thoughts as they flow against the fog of your sedated sleep. Leaping from your padded cot you crouch as you press yourself against the padded walls of your cell, peering out the barred window within its door. You see the sterile white lights shining through the grey hallways die out, leaving you in momentary darkness before the red glow of the emergency lighting gives only the faintest of illumination. You make out the loud approach of armed guards, before you see their darkened silhouettes speed past you. The echo of their footsteps soon drowned out by the thunder of gunfire. As the muzzle flash irregularly lights up the corridor, you duck behind your cot for cover. Your hands clench into fists, ready to act even if you’re helpless to escape your confines. You listen and try to make out anything above the gunfire, but hear nothing but the sounds of violence and the agonized screams of the dying. The already dim lights vanish as something strikes your door, reverberating with a clang as you see the helmeted back head of a guard through your window. It convulses as two cracks of gunfire fill the hall, sending bits of your door’s handle into your room. Silence permeates the area after the corpse slumps over, then the sudden burst of automatic fire overwhelms the quiet. You hear rapid footfall before you dash up to your door.

The cause of the carnage you see spread across the floor and hallway walls is long gone, and as your gaze turns to the destroyed locking mechanism on your door you spy the bandaged and jacketed forms of your fellow subjects, some sprinting off into the depths of the facility, others gathering together or trying to wretch the cell doors open. A scant few even remain on their cots, unperturbed by the situation.

It was more that he kept responding to anyone that voted in a way he didn't like by calling them garbage, and repeatedly calling the MC 'reddit' and 'netflix', just cloying, whiny nonsense. He only really talked about /pol/ stuff earlier when QM asked about feedback, and need anons to know he disapproved of female MC's because he wants to beat up elderly blacks or something like that. Bro was just annoying. If it's the same guy I hope he doesn't sperg so much over people voting different.

You swing open the broken door, moving with a measured pace towards the other subjects starting to coalesce together. From here you can make out the numbers embroidered on their jackets with ease. #114 is busying himself prying open the door to #109 with a stun tonfa, beside him is #012, who’s busying herself checking a Hi-Power, and #054 who tears open #091’s handle, letting the occupant dash out and right by you. Your gaze follows him to see #028, #057, and #066 depriving the dead guards of their MP5K magazines to supplement their own. Your attention is drawn back as you hear a crack as the electrified end of the tonfa #114 was using explodes, the door swings open and #109 gives him a nod before turning to grab a handgun from one of the corpses. #114’s attention turns towards you now.

“Eighty-Six.” He greets you as you reciprocate.

“One-Fourteen, Twelve.” You nod to the both of them as #012 peeks up from her firearm to glance at you.

“I suppose you're looking for help if you haven’t bolted off like some of the others. We’re planning on moving to the armory before trying to hijack something from the garage.” #114 motions to #012 and #054 as he picks up and checks one of the MP5Ks laying on the floor.

“We’re heading towards the control center, if we move fast we can open the rest of the locks in this place and escape using the helipad before they cordon this place off completely." #066 divulges her plan to the other subjects.

“And you?” You ask #109 as he kicks a tonfa off the ground and into his hand.

“Following One-Fifty-Five.” He answers as he twirls the weapon. “And getting out any stranglers he leaves behind.”

#109 runs off after answering, disappearing into the dimly lit corridor as he chases after #154. You don’t see any other subjects follow him.

“Better weapons will get us farther.” You say as you step closer to #114. He takes a Hi-Power from #012 and checks the chamber before letting his arm rest and extending his free hand towards you. You grasp it and give it a light shake in confirmation of your alliance.

“Let’s move.” He commands as #054 joins the rest of you.

#066 nods and motions for her two companions to follow, and they swiftly make their way towards the nerve center of the facility. Likewise your team bolts off in the opposite direction, following by memory the route to the armory. As you rapidly approach the stockpile you see a squad of guards running up ahead. One of them has a radio in hand, and you can overhear what he’s speaking into it. They’re heading to the armory just as you are, apparently hoping to meet up with some of their comrades. You already know that they won’t reach their destination.

Without a word, and only the subtlest of gestures by head, the four of you have already marked your targets. Your footsteps silent below the clang of their boots, your hands grab the guard’s head as you run up behind him. A confused noise escapes him as his momentum stops, catching the attention of the other three. They have no time to react as you wrest the man’s head, producing a sickening snap as your hands release him. Leaving the body to drop as you snatch the gun from his hand. Before they can even fully comprehend what’s happening, the other three are dead. One’s gaze turns towards the pistol pointed right at their face, the other goes flying back from a hit that leaves his face caved in, the third falls face first blood pooling around his head. The four of you quickly filch some extra ammo and resume your sprint towards the armory.
>>
>>6391665
The sound of gunfire is constant, you see bullets fly down the hallway, striking the wall that intersects your corridor with another that leads to the armory. Pressed against the wall, two on the hall you’ve arrived from, and two on the opposite are fellow subjects. They lean out to try and suppress whoever is in the armory, the one closest to your party, #024 turns to face you.

“Seems we weren’t the only ones looking for weapons. There’s at least another full guard squad in there, along with whatever men the armorer has with him.” He tells you as another burst of bullets and some indistinct shouts boom down the hallway. #024 points up at the roof behind your group. “There’s a ventilation shaft that likely leads into the armory, with you four there should be enough to press in and keep any reinforcements back once I’m in.” #024 elaborates as he readies his weapon.

“Are you sure you’ll be able to deal with them?” #114 asks.

“No.” #024 answers as he holsters his smg. “But I only need to kill the one with the machinegun.” He states as he pries the cover off the vent.

“I’m going too, we’ll clear them out faster if we have more hands to surprise them.” You tell #024, who raises no objections as he throws the cover aside and lifts himself into the innards of the vent.

“If we don’t get in there fast we’re not going to make it out of this facility. I’m coming along.” #114 proclaims as he follows you.

You effortlessly climb up into the shaft, the three of you speedily crawling the length of the duct, the cold air carrying the sounds of gunshots and casings clattering to the floor closer and closer to the three of you. Your allies seem to be doing a very good job keeping the guards distracted. You’re treated with the splendid confirmation that the enemy is utterly unaware of your intrusion as #024 gently removes the cover and slinks down to the ground. His MP5K is already trained on the five guards holding the defense as you and #114 get out. You join #024 in perforating the guard’s backs with bullets, blood specking out as they shudder and collapse over their barricades. The two of you are checking your flanks as you reload and see #114 motion for the two of you to take cover as he fires his pistol at the armored figure rounding the doorway that leads deeper into the armory. Bullets plink off the transparent shield attached to his carbine and armor, but as the three of you dive behind the lockers lining the room’s insides you spot the faint trace of blood staining his blue uniform as he retreats. You can hear him shout over the bursts of his gun.

“BREACH! BREACH!” He exclaims as you hear the blasts of new guns firing at you. The three of you fire back as you weave between cover to close in, pinning the armorer and his entourage as you hear the other subjects rush in to join you.

As some of the other subjects move ahead to keep the fire on the remaining guards, you step aside and turn your attention to the lockers and crates filling the room. Guys if we’re gonna play as a parry god then a two handed weapon is no good.

We gotta get into John Wick range first our talents to work.

Parry with the gun.

If we can take multiple without necessarily going akimbo all the time, then we should at least take a sidearm and a melee weapon. Wasn't sure we could. I'll add a vote for
>Stun tonfa
>USP Tactical
as sidearms in addition to the UMP/MP5

To answer some questions; You can take a melee alongside a firearm and use them separate or together. You can hold any of the weapons in two hands but naturally larger guns are more unwieldy and would have drawbacks to the benefits the extra firepower brings.

However all choices would be held and not stored as #086 is grabbing them to be used immediately in fighting the surviving guards.
