Recounting Our Hero's last adventure, A young man strikes out into the dangerous, ungoverned land of Axegaurd to make a name for himself. Formerly a librarian from the frigid northern kingdom of Holuthheim , This hero uses his smarts and his skills with a blade to tackle the quests he was given. At his side is a former soldier, a Beastwoman with a foul mouth, a noticeable drinking problem and an unmatched skill with hand to hand weapons. Khyber, as she is called, offered to temporarily join our hero but agreed to stay by his side a little longer, so long as he'd provided an adequate amount of alcohol . Our Hero's second party member is a neurotic but well meaning mage. Her name is Xiphos and the esoteric school of magic she follows demands the worship of strange beings of light that grant her holy abilities. She is here to fight the worshipers of darkness who plague these lands, even if she is anxious about everything. Including fighting darkness.

Our previous tale ended with a beginning, a farmer offered nearly all the coin to his name to Our Hero and his party. The job, on paper, is simple "get rid of the succubus that has been attacking my town by any means necessary". What this band of heroes will soon find out is that this job will not be as simple as they believed it to be. For night has fallen on this lawless lands, and in the cover of darkness the succubus lurks

The farmer was so desperate in fact, he even offered his horse to Our Hero and his party. So long as she gets back in one piece. No one on that horse wanted to get there after the moons rose but alas, their beautiful pale blue light served as an unfortunate reminder for the conditions they would be working in

near darkness

to stave off any doubt or worry he may have had, Our Hero recounts what the farmer told him about the succubus. That is has taken the form of the baker, Mariam, a beastwoman who is deer like in features. However, the real Mariam has one, escaped the city, and two, lacks long, white, shaggy hair. The farmer also stated that the succubus is likely to plundering a farm, or salted pork storehouse. "Anywhere there is meat, there is going to be a succubus" Our Hero recalls the farmer saying

When Our Hero, Khyber and Xiphos finally make it to the village, they are struck with a feeling most unnerving. A feeling not at all helped by the silence, there were no noises coming from the forest, no leaves rustling, no twigs snapping. Just the sound of hooves clopping and weapons clattering as they all cautiously dismounted the horse...

"So, what's the plan?"
Khyber asks, an ounce of worry in her voice

Our Hero does not admit this outright, but he does not have a solid plan. To remedy this he takes inventory of what's in his bag, as of now Our Hero has

Mountainroot (x2)
>a bitter tasting root used to make stamina potions

Gerske Flowers (x4)
>used to make herbal tea, it's useless for now, unless a strong floral aroma is needed

Ground Brimstone (x1)
>wrapped in cloth to cover the pungent sulfur smell, might be useful in attracting demons

Undine Water (x1)
>has the ability to wash away magical qualities, though to what extent Our Hero isn't quite sure yet

Invisibility Potion (x1)
>self explanatory, but makes the drinker completely blind for the duration of the potion...what use does that serve anyways!?

Potion of Ignition (x1)
>also self explanatory. It could be used as a last ditch effort but Our Hero highly doubts the villagers want to come back to ashes after the succubus has been dealt with

Potion of Healing (x1)
>It should only be used when absolutely necessary! That being said, healing potions are similar to blood in both smell and taste, this could be useful in attracting a carnivore...or it could attract the succubus when they are trying to tend to someone wounded. Best to consider the risks before using it

"I believe I have something useful too..."
Xiphos nervously adds, brandishing a potion of shining that she has been holding onto
"I'm not sure what it could be used for though..."

Our Hero tells Xiphos that her input is appreciated, and he's glad she's pitching in. Xiphos smiles, though it's covered by her mask

with all of this considered, Our Hero starts formulate some plans, they could...

>1.) investigate the butchers shop in front of them, it's likely been picked clean but could give some evidence as to where the succubus went
>2.) entice the succubus with the brimstone and use it to lure the succubus into a place where it can be dealt with
>3.)keep on guard and venture through the woods to the rest of the village, and plan from there.

(awww thank you very much!)

Though it may seem risky, Our Hero and his party ventures deeper into the woods. With axes, hammers and daggers raised they all walk with caution, ready for an attack from a demon at any moment...

But there is nothing, nothing but silence. Khyber comments that this is "Fuckin creepy" and Our Hero concurs. Unscathed but a little more anxious the party stumbles on rest of the village and Our Hero takes note of what he sees. There is the bakery, and home of the person the succubus has copied, two houses, a tavern, a market an armory and a storage house

There are many possibilities of attack here, but also many chances to be attacked. Some plans may be riskier than others but Our Hero formulates some nonetheless. Right now, Our Hero could...

>1.) Investigate the bakers house, investigating what is essentially ground zero of this whole problem may be risky, but could also provide important details about the enemy they are fighting
>2.) Prepare for a fight in the farm. Get this over with as fast as possible, lure the succubus there if he has to. This is also risky but will get this done as quickly as possible. Someone's bound to get hurt doing this...
>3). Check the armory for anything that may help. he is free to return whatever he borrowed and there's no risk in checking after all! That being said, there is a chance the succubus is hiding there...

No reaosn to assume it's living there. If it is, then maybe we'll catch it out of the house and be able to set a trap or gather info.
