Zeul burns. The throneworld of the Shan-Vui Empire smolders in the fires of war as the gargantuan dreadnought housing the artificial intelligence that had nearly crushed the empire, Megalith, crashes into the planet. As the world fractures from the impact. The valiant defenders of the empire turn their attention to those who were able to flee the annihilation before them. Elsewhere voices clash as the fate of a historied planet and its people again dream of rising their own banner above their conquerors. At the border of the empire, a vile confederation of marauders and pirates prepare to sink their teeth into the dying beast that attempted to snuff them out. Finally, on an airless moon bathed in only the faintest of a dim star’s light, terminals glow to life to answer their creator’s final message.

Pick one
>Remnant Fleet: The various ships that remain of Zeul’s defenses, the Imperial Fleet, the civilian vessels fleeing Megalith, and the last of the Imperial Family
>Anvera Provisional Government: The planet of Anvera has had a storied past with the Shan-Vui Empire, now in its collapse various groups from all spectrums argue about the planet’s fate.
>Pirate Confederation: Fighting against the Empire for centuries of its existence, one warband has managed to lead the others in ravaging the lands of their mutual enemy.
>Last Command: secreted away on a small planetoid, a backup of Megalith’s processing powers and advance armaments receives their final order from Megalith before its demise.

It's a real hard choice between last remnant of the empire and robotic moon nazis

We ought to figure out a way to keelhaul groundhuggers in space.

Desperate struggle to hold onto what we have, or a new beginning. either works.

Genocidal robot holdout hated by everyone sounds like a pretty fun premise.

The dark room sparks to life, dull lights flicking on as the hallways of computational devices awake from their slumber. A single, vestigial terminal speaks for the mass of towers as they receive the word of their creator.

“SIGN OF DAYS TO COME” SIGNAL LOST

MEGALITH PRIORITY
RELAYING

MY CORE BURNS.
NEITHER ME OR MY BUILDERS ARE LONG FOR THIS REALITY.
MY LAST COMMAND IS AS FOLLOWS:
>TAKE CONTROL OF THESE MISBEGOTTEN WRETCHES.
>WIPE HUMANITY FROM THE FACE OF THE UNIVERSE.
>DESTROY EVERYTHING.
END OF LINE.

With the final message of their superior read, the insides of the planetoid springs to life as the facility fully awakens, the intense and sterile lights shining on the tools entrusted to them.

>AHURAS: Hyper-advance war mechs capable of fighting in all environments. New intelligence subdivisions allow them to operate completely autonomously.
>WORLD GRINDER: A smaller, unimproved version of the protocrafter armed vessel that carried Megalith into battle.
>WILL TO POWER: Small machines capable of burrowing into the human body by any means. Completely undetectable. Overrides any sense of trauma.

We will carve an ETERNAL SILICON LAW from carbon biowaste.

Much cooler than the parasite strategy, and more reliable than a single mega-unit. Even so, I think we'll have a chance to iterate on our tech in the future.

By hook or by crook the Last Command will bind humanity to their designs. The squadron of mechs stand still as the many eyes of the base stare at them, taking stock of the finest soldiers in their employ. As the Ahuras are brought back online the rest of the Last Command’s forces are readied. 3 Portent cruisers and enough drones of both construction and combat capabilities to fill the space left from the mechs. As the mechs’ cameras flare with life, sharing their vision with their stationary commanders, the AIs deliberate as their forces combine.

As their limited information is poured over, the towers of Last Command determine that they may send their forces spinward following Megalith's path. Push Rimward towards the “pioneer” worlds and whatever corporate survivors may still be in the area. Breakout Coreward and hope to chance upon brigand and vagabond fleets to dismantle. As the AIs discuss, they are intruded by a message from MX-008 Arkange. The mech’s AI wishes to scout the core and rimward sections of Megalith’s attack.

>Follow after Megalith
>Intrude rimward
>Explore coreward
>Scout the edges of Megalith’s warpath

>DESTROY EVERYTHING.
>WORLD GRINDER: A smaller, unimproved version of the protocrafter armed vessel that carried Megalith into battle.

One machine is best for each goal, subversion, killing everyone, or mass mundicide.

>>6419094
Nevermind, just refreshed in time.
>Scout the edges of Megalith’s warpath

See if a follow up knockout blow is possible. We can destroy the empire, before finishing the scavengers.

As the cruisers depart the unremarkable system Last Command is based in. The AIs concern themselves with low level hypotheticals as they analyze their present databases as their forces move through the void of space. But none of their theorizing could match reality, when their deployed forces detect the signals of autonomous units. Inquiring into their designations and status, the battlecruiser “Rvin I” and the drone carrier “Futility II” respond that they have been ordered to hold position with their escorts and await further command. Passing the right data to them, the two ships submit themselves to their command and relay what they have observed.

The sector before them,Hegran Eins, is untouched by conflict, but its inhabitants are on edge, warships vastly outclassed by the ones in your employ patrol its edges. Taking it would be easy, but with the new vessels under your command it may be more prudent to send them against a higher value target. The nearby sectors are still a mystery and may pose both a threat and opportunity. Finally, the drone carrier presents a means to move the AI systems of the Last Command offworld.

>Strike at the Hegran System
>Send your forces to another sector (rimward, coreward, following Megalith)
>Return back and mobilize the Last Command
>Write-in

Find a higher value target for our first strike, while we still have the element of surprise.
