https://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/qstarchive/2026/6402615/Last Time on 3rd Born Son:The Latterborn chose to escape with their loot rather than risk venturing deeper into the Doom in search of Brightroar. During their escape, they lost many of their number and almost the whole of the expedition to an apparition of the Many face God, a Thing that sought to have them take on the debts owed by those within the doom. With Jason's lead, the Latterborn denied the debt and managed to escape, only for Asha and Jason to be cast into the boiling sea of Old Valyria. Miraculously, they awoke off the shores of Tolos safe and sound, where they made the decision to walk the demon road to return to Volantis. On the way there, they stopped at Mantarys, where they discovered a branch family of the Blackfyres ruled over the forgotten city of mutants and the twisted of form, the Lady of Blackscales rules. Haenora Blackfyre, daughter of Maelys Blackfyre, was informed about the fate of her father, and became distressed.x“Sers,” you said, standing from your knee and holding your arms out “I must tell your lady the truth, but it is a harsh one, one that she will need support to bear.” You say, looking at each of the black cloaked men, then to Lady of Blackscales with your kindest eyes “Please, search me for weapons or threats as is your duty, but allow me to step closer, so I may support your lady in this telling.”Asha looked at you with a mixture of confusion, astonishment, and the annoyance only a spouse could hold for their partner.“No, no, y-you can stay away, Just…I d-don’t need,” The lady said, the imperial tone she had before gone, and the scared woman lost to time was laid bare.Balarys, the black cloak closest to the Lady, stepped forward and took a knee, gently placing a hand on her shoulder. She seemed to calm, though her breath still showed signs of panic. He then looked at another Black cloak and nodded, who returned the gesture. The second black cloak stepped forward, his hand on his sword, which looked to be a curved blade meant to fly out of one's sheath with ease and speed. You had no doubt that if a man were to charge any one of them, or their lady, Seven forbid, their blades would see their work before the attackers heard the grind of metal on leather.(Cont)
>>6427107He searched you, and removed any weapon he could find. He was thorough, doing his duty well as he found every weapon that had been on your person, and even a few knives that Asha had managed to somehow hide on you without your knowledge. You did not show your reaction, but you reasoned that you would have to speak to her about those hidden knives at some point in the future. Once you were given the all clear, you were escorted by the Black cloak to the Lady of Blackscales, his hand at his blade ready to cut you down. Their willingness to allow you this close showed the short history of the order, the untouched nobility and trust that could only be fostered when taught how only to be an ideal knight. Your father might have considered this a weakness, a vulnerability to exploit, instead you could only feel happiness that so far from the stories of your home you could find such chivalry. You came to her side, a woman whose world was collapsing around her, whose reality had been upended by an unknown history and truth. “My lady,” you said, placing a gentle hand on her shoulder. For a brief instance, you felt the texture of smooth scale beneath her silks. She pulled away as if your touch was wild fire, pulling into herself “ No, take him away, I don’t wish to-““Your father Maelys Blackfyre,” you began, cutting her off as you hand gently found her shoulder again, showing no fear or hesitation “is not known well in the Seven Kingdoms, however from what I have seen here I can piece together what occurred from both what I know, and what I suspect. Daemon Blackfyre the 5th did something to garner your father’s ire, I do not know what, but it lead to your father slaying Daemon.” You said, and watched the woman’s shoulders slump as a dream died “After that, he took command of the Golden Company and found Allies with other crown seekers. Together they became known as the Nine kings, though the seven kingdoms derided them as the Ninepenny kings. They were united by purpose, promises to help one another gain kingdoms, and perhaps deeper things still. However, they met their defeat in the step stones attempting another Blackfyre invasion.”(Cont)
>>6427109“No!” Lady of Blackscales said, surging forward and grabbing you shirt, shaking you in a panic as you looked at her with sympathy “No, grandmother had no plans like that. The golden Company yes, but no other crown seekers. It would have been the Golden Company, a vanguard of Faceless Men, a dozen other companies of sell swords, a hoard of Unsullied, there were even whispers that a distant aunt may bring to bear a Dothraki Khal.” She said, the scale of the planned invasion making your brows rise “And at its center, My Lord Husband Daemon and I, with our Black Cloaked Kingsguard, and the wealth of Valyria flooding our forces and turning the lords of Westeros. My father would have led a great host, all according to my grandmother's plans! You lie, my father would not go without these things!”You placed your hands on hers, squeezing them to show your sincerity “I do not know what became of your Grandmother’s plans, only that they did not manifest. To the world, Maelys was the last Blackfyre, or at least the last Male Heir. He met the combined might of the Seven Kingdoms, and fell in battle against a Knight by the name of Barriston Selmy… Most believe your family to be extinct, and lost to time.” You say, your words feeling cruel but needing to be said.Devastation. That was the only word that could describe the pools of violet that were searching your own for deception. They found none, and you saw beneath the veil of silk tears begin to fall, and you ignored the scales you saw around her eyes and the feeling of serpentine flesh beneath the silk gloves she wore. Her head fell, eyes cast down to the earth as the sound of a dying animal rose from inside her. You could not fathom her pain, her loss, or her disappointment in the life that had abandoned her. Then, you could not fathom the rage as her gripped tightened on your collar, sharp finger talons cutting through the fabric of your tunic as she began to stand and soon show how much taller she was than you “Liar, you’re a liar! An agent of BloodRaven! An acolyte of our greatest enemy, of the betrayer, of Bittersteel’s obstacle!” She said, her voice rising as a feral tinge came with her words.Asha rose to her feet, and froze as the entirety of the Blackfyre Guard took battle stance, all ready to bare steel.Balarys stepped closer to the raging woman, as you tried to find the words to calm her “My Lady please, you must calm yourself. I do not thi-““The Pitt, yes send him there, until he confesses, until he tells me the truth.” She said, letting you go and dropping you to the ground. You landed, standing tall as you tried to speak “My last, I do not lie. You must believe me, why else would your father not return?” You said, then was pulled back by a black cloak before a strike from the Lady of Blackscales cut open your face.(Cont)
>>6427111“Silence! My father wouldn’t abandon me, he wouldn’t leave me all alone.” She said, her voice shaking, quivering as the Black cloaks pulled you away just as much for your own safety as to follow their Lady’s orders.“Go, take them away, Brothers.” Balarys said, standing between the Lady and you and holding her close “Be calm my Lady, we are here for you. I am here for you.” He said from behind his helm, holding the shaking woman and whispering as she broke down in tears.“Come, we must leave her until Balarys can calm her.” One of the Black Cloaks said, Asha and you were taken away from the room.“I did not mean to cause her so much harm, we’ll leave so she may find peace.” You said, then noticed that the Black Cloaks did not take you back the way you came but deeper into the Manse. “My apologies Ser, what you tried to do was noble, but…our Oaths are clear. We were given orders. Until Balarys can calm our lady down, you will be placed in the Pitt.”“That’s bullshit! She’s crazy, fuck your damn oaths you fucking cowards! Let us go!” Asha said, thrashing and pulling and nearly toppling the Black Cloak holding her until he repositioned and overpowered her.“Hey, do not harm her! Ser Knight, you must release us. We have done nothing to deserve this treatment. We can even prove our words to the lady, do as honor dictates.” You said, trying and failing to exert your power to escape.“Our honor lies in our Oaths to abide by our Liege’s orders, as all true knights. “ he said, Sounding as if the words were a struggle to speak.“Then send someone to Volantis, find the Latterborn, find my brother Tyrion. They can prove our words, they can prove our innocence!” You said, as they pulled you below the floors of the manse, to a dark place below.X“Go brother, venture further than any of us ever have. An injustice is set to occur, one that will curse our name and the name of the Queen we swore to serve. We cannot stand against her orders, but we can act. Go to Volantis, Valenor, and get the proof our guests need. Find the Latterborn, find Tyrion Lannister. Pray to The seven dragons, pray to the seven who are one, that he has the proof we need. Find the truth of what happened to our Lord Maelys, find out the fate of our teacher, the Man who Knighted us.”Valenor took off that night, the smallest of the Black Cloaks and so the one of their number who could mount a horse. He tore through the lands of always summer, a mission, a quest, the honor of his order on the line.(Cont)
>>6427113Had the lives of two innocent people not weighed his soul, he would have been overjoyed. He owed his name to the god of travel of old Valyria, and he owed his knighthood to the warrior and maiden. Now he charged forth, and sought to do honor to all, and to make this worth of the Black Book maintained by their order. The slavers and Dothraki he left in his wake stained the earth red, as one of the Black Demons of the Demon Road rode on.XHaenora tore through the letters and missives left behind by her grandmother and father, searching for something she had never seen before, information she had missed all the times she had read them before. Some were ripping, falling apart after so many years of her handling them. No it couldn’t have been years, was it?Did they abandon her? Did they leave her branch to rot away? Had her father ruined everything? No, he was a dutiful son, one who never stood against the Matriarch of The Blackfyres, who was a dutiful son. Even when her grandmother died, the plan continued on, until that damned letter from her Daemon.“My Lady, please you must rest.” Balarys said, stepping aside as a lock box was thrown across the room “Haenorah! This is unbecoming!” He said, stepping forward to grab her wrists before she through another case of letters.“That right, I’m unbecoming! I’ve never been the proper lady!” She cried out, her silks removed as only Balarys was trusted to see her “Too emotional, too stupid, too monstrous to be a Blackfyre. They abandoned me, all of them, leaving me alone, leaving a horrid mistake to rot away in shame.” She said, trying to pull from Balarys’ grip, to unleash her emotions “No, no no no, he’ll come back!” She screamed out, her mind having been flitting between both horrid realities.Balarys tried to weather this storm, tried to help guide his Lady to the truth. She tattered from the reality of being left behind, that her tears had lead to everything unraveling, or continuing to live a failing lie that promised only loneliness. He could only do so much, could only give her so much. He held her against his chest, his armor left behind, both of their artifice removed only with each other “Haenorah, please, you have to let him go, stop letting that boy hurt you. Accept your father loved you,”She buried her face in his chest, malformed yet somehow perfect for her she found all these years “NO! Silence, I’ll cut out your tongue!” She cried shrilly, meaning none of it as she struggled to escape and fought to find comfort in his arms “He’ll come back, the plan…the plan can’t be dead, I was born for it.”(Cont)
>>6427114“I know My lady, by precious Haenorah. I know.” He said, sitting on the ground and keeping her close as she sobbed, hoping to navigate this mood to save the two held below. “You were born for so much more…”XYou say in the large circular pitt that was your cage, one of many beneath the Manse. Asha was held somewhere else, though you hopped the Black Cloak that had left with her treated her well. As well as yours did you, a cevasse board between the both of you with multiple games shared. He was better at it than you, though you had earned a few victories when he had been forced to fight on your terms, namely around your forts when you had the time to prepare them for attack. “You are a predictable tactician Jason,” Camithor said, his third arm resting as he thought over his next move.“But effective when allowed, I take it?” You said with a smile, ignoring the shackles connecting you to the wall.“Yes, should I ever have to take a city blessed by your focus and time, I shall have to pray to the seven that the war is not lost by attrition and siege alone.” He said, moving his dragon forward. There was an animalistic yawn on the other side of the pit, making you antsy before you maneuvered your archers to cover your ballista. “I hope I have the opportunity, and my fate leads to me being something besides Lion food.” You said, eyeing the massive white lion resting. It was twice the size of a westerland lion, and its muscles made the well fed cousins look pitiful by comparison. “Those things roam the Dothraki sea?”“Were it not for the few Dothraki brave enough to hunt them, they would rule it uncontested. Keeping one was something the old Matriarch did, a luxury to help her pride.” Camithor said, hesitating to move his dragon forward to the pass you had fortified. While Your archers could threaten his dragon at close range, the dragon could move and destroy such a unit easily by positioning itself outside that range. However, the ballista they guarded could strike at that range, and its inner range where it was ineffective was covered by the archers. Had he been faster, perhaps he would have been able to take the pass with ease before you had set up your defenses, but as it stood he would lose his dragon while yours remained safely behind your lines. His only real option was to send forces into the pass, where the ballista could not be used to try and take the pass or slay your archers, but your dragon would be able to move and devastate his forces before he could set up his own Ballista, which took a turn to set up.He instead moved his knights east, towards another pass you had not had the time to fortify, splitting his army as his knights and dragon went south while his main forces held yours at the pass.(Cont)
>>6427116You let out a curse, mobile warfare a weakness of yours as now you had to decide whether it was worth moving your dragon east to intercept the enemy army and risk a dragon battle, or try and push from your position to terrain that favored your enemy. There was also the possibility of trying to double down on your current strategy, to fortify your position and weather his assault on your positions until you could strike out from a position of strength. You bit on your knuckle, Camithor chuckling from behind his helmet as he crossed his arms, proud to have once more carved an advantageous position against your playstyle. He then looked up at a series of candles placed high above, and measured them in his mind before letting out a curse in high valyrian “Ah, it is time for a shift change. We will have to continue this game another time, Lord Jason.” He said with a nod, standing up and packing away the game, leaving marks that could be cleaned later where pieces had been. You smiled, leaning back with a sigh of relief “Well It works for me, gives me time to consider how to respond. You truly have a knock for tactics Ser Camithor, why I think you may even have talent enough to best my father given time to gather experience.” You said, earning a grateful bow of the head from the knight.“You honor me lord Lannister, though I am just a simple knight, I do not imagine I will lead armies any time in my life.” he said humbly, heading towards the cage door behind the White Lion, the beast not reacting as the Black cloak walked by and brushed its mane.“You never know, one day Mantarys will be a shining Jewel the world will have to marvel. I can see it in the streets and people, there is great potential and hope here. It will need great defenders and noble people to protect it. I believe it has them to spare.” You said, smiling as you saw the Knight hesitate at the gate, and then leave. Your words had affected him, and though they were true you knew it was no less a manipulation. The more they felt duty demanded one thing from them, the more they would resist the contrary. You remembered how you aunt Genna would have you Frey cousins do her bidding to prove their better nature, or how quickly ruffians would act like nobility with the coaxing of your uncle Gerion. You smiled, hoping that you were never proven wrong about the desire in most men’s hearts to live up to the example of Chivalric tales of old.(Cont)
>>6427117Returning to your predicament, there was the pitt, the cage, and the cell door that lied behind the white Lion. You had your armor still, you had even your weapons as well. They had not taken your possessions, as they did not feel you should be a prisoner. This gave you options, you thought as you examined the valyrian knife in your pocket, then the stone of the dungeon you rested in. It was clean and well maintained, but not Valyrian in design. It was made of quarried stone, brick and mortar, and reinforced with iron bars and bolts. Meaning it suffered from time and erosion like all mundane structures. Your eyes glanced to the point where your shackles connected to the wall, and knew that there was a slight looseness to it that had been missed by less discerning eyes. Given time, you could remove it from the wall easily. The problem was what came after. The White Lion stood as a guard you had no doubt, one kept on its own chain that could not reach you as long as you stayed within a specific area of the cell and did not agitate it. Behind it was the only cell door out. Managing to escape would be difficult with such an obstacle. You paused and closed your eyes, hearing the sound of cursing and shattering plates in the faint distance, your heart warming at the distant confirmation your wife was still fiery and unbroken. You trusted the Black cloaks to do their best to make her stay comfortable, and she would do her best to make each second she was in chains a curse upon them. You opened your eyes, and considered. They had sent one of their own to find your brother and the Latterborn, to bring others back and confirm your story and aid the lady of Blackscales in calming her mind and accepting his misfortune. However, there was no guarantee that would work, and a part of your mind whispered that you still did not know which side of the coin Haenora had landed on when the gods saw her birth. Did such a saying apply to the Blackfyres? They were of dragon blood just like their rivals the Targaryens, yet they were also different. You knew that the saying was an oversimplification, that the history of each mad Targaryen was more than just they had been born wrong.(Cont)
>>6427118But then you also considered if you even could escape? Could you pull it off, could you manage the feat of breaking free of your chains, getting around the lion, opening your cell, finding your wife and freeing her, then escaping from the pitt and the Blackcloaks? There were many what ifs, and unknowns. You had survived the doom, a far harsher place than this, but there were different rules here, and survival could not be won simply by will alone.>>Begin working the chains, and wait between the changing of the guards to whittle it until you can see your chance to escape.>>Lean back and consider your strategy for your next game with Camithor, and use this as a chance to try and improve your strategic and tactical mind for warfare, or at least get better at Cevasse.>>Other?(AAAAAAGH i DID IT AGAIN WITH THE TITLE!)
>>6427119>Lean back and consider your strategy for your next game with Camithor, and use this as a chance to try and improve your strategic and tactical mind for warfare, or at least get better at Cevasse. We have a Mantaryan knight rushing for Volantis to contact Tyrion, AND Victarion headed the same way - so idunno, there's cavalry coming and going for us. Jason is more exceptional than people think, but he can't tangle with a white lion, probably can't evade the keep's guards. I think we should rely on Asha rescuing us (a solid possibility) or simply allow for our various sympathizers to ameliorate the situation. In the meantime we could stand to become a better tactician, it'll pay off later when the wars cook off across Westeros.
>>6427119>>Other?Well we need to tell them that the Targ's are dead/gone and that the Lannisters had a major part in that. Robert is now the King. Then we need to make sure Asha is okay and not making the situation worse. Ask if we can see her and convince her to not try and stab the guards at the earliest opportunity; she will absolutely make an escape attempt. I know they must obey their orders to keep us down here in The Pit, but simply moving a prisoner from one cell to another whilst "inspecting the old cell for signs of meddling" isn't breaking their vows. Lastly, while we're stuck here, we might as well try to make some value out of it. Try proposing the negotiation points to the knights and see what they think. They obviously can't speak on their lady's behalf, but we can ask how they think she'd feel about some of our ideas. Setting up a trade agreement with Tyrion could greatly benefit both parties, and also prevent another fiasco like this from happening since the Blackscales would begin getting news from the rest of the world when their merchants travel to Volantis.Alternatively we could try to demonstrate value by offering our expertise in construction and begin drafting plans on how to help improve Mantarys.
>>6427119>>Lean back and consider your strategy for your next game with Camithor, and use this as a chance to try and improve your strategic and tactical mind for warfare, or at least get better at Cevasse.I loled at Asha somehow sneaking knives onto Jason without him ever noticing or being the wiser to those kinda antics of hers. Good confirmation that Jason specializes in siege and defensive warfare too as previously suspected by anons. So Jason can into warfare and commandship but is highly specialized.I wonder if we can request if our lady wife be moved closer per any chance? I'm not sure how fast Tyrion can get here, even if he will be most welcomed on account of being a dwarf.>>6427135It might be better to leave the trade negotiations to Tyrion. Although anons did hash out the rough terms and plans for it last thread to be brought up.
>>6427136>leave the trade negotiations to TyrionOh absolutely. Nothing would get signed on papers until the whole situation has cooled down. This would probably just be Jason getting an idea of how they would feel about the proposition, and learning about what they need vs what they can offer.Even from a prison cell, he'd be pursuing what Tywin would advise him to do lmao.
>>6427119>>Lean back and consider your strategy for your next game with Camithor, and use this as a chance to try and improve your strategic and tactical mind for warfare, or at least get better at Cevasse. Also>Asks for the guards to "give a quick check to the other cells in case of middling" while taking us to Asha, and try to convince her to be nice>Tell Camithor to talk with Balarys, to tell him that when the Lady is a little more calmed down, we can tell her a little about modern history, and hint about the Targaryen's fate, to try and cheer her up a littleIf Lady Blackscale gets a little curious about our proposal and hoping to know about the fate of the Targaryen, we can then maybe offer her our services for some reconstructions or planning for the city. To me it's more appropriate if we do it in person instead of through one of the guards.Good to have you back QM!
>>6427119What do you mean? The quest name has always been "Lannister QM"? kek>>6427135>>6427151I mean shit we have time to spend, may as well.>+1 to the talky talk with the blackcloaks. Even if I kind of want to break the chain loose and then just stick around anyway as a power move. "Yeah I could have left. It would have been rude though so I waited instead.".

Because it would amuse me terribly to be let out of the cages and immediately go "well that was mildly unpleasant, Now, I noticed there is space for some investment opportunity."
>>6427136+1Maybe we can invent sandwiches with his help
>>6427119>Lean back and consider your strategy for your next game with Camithor, and use this as a chance to try and improve your strategic and tactical mind for warfare, or at least get better at Cevasse.>Other?>Tell good Ser Camithor and Commander Balarys that we are always open for a talk with any of them, or the rest of their Black Cloaks brothers, and of course Lady Haenorah. We really want to do a long discussion with her. So much to talk. But we shall wait for when she is ready. If she doesn't trust us still, perhaps hearing rumors in Volantis and buying books there could be a way for her to learn on her own ?>Also a small request : give us some paper and ink. We have an active mind, and we are interested in making some architectural projects on paper. And some romantic poetry to narrate and deliver to Lady Asha, so she becomes more calm.
You know I hope Sandor doesn't overreact when he comes down here with Tyrion. Thankfully he does keep a pretty cool head and can behave himself most of the time.
>>6427206Valenor seems very honorable, i think the guy will win them over. Its really Haenorah the issue. Haenorah just need to kind of move over this, accept it. i have a way for her to do that. Haenorah didn't just lose her father, but also her future husband who turned to be a piece of shit. Hearing of Jason sending to his wife romantic poetry while in a cell, its the exact kind of thing that will move her out of her funk and make her interact with Arya and then us.
>>6427119>>6427203>supportSending letters to Asha is a nice addition. As of now we just have to wait and let cooler minds prevail, Lady Blackfyre's guards seem like proper knights that won't let harm befall Jason. It is also nice to have some bonding time with the sigil of our house
Wait a moment, The Mad Maid called us the pale lion and now we are stuck in a cage with a white lion. Very interesting indeed

>>6427119>>>Other?Starting trying to make friends with the cat. Not much else you can do, trapped as you are.
>>6427297Barristan the Bystander catching strays. Unironically kinda funny a few mutated descendents of Old Valyria are showing Duncan the Tall levels of honour when they are perhaps the furthest from Andal culture as you can get. Puts most knights in Westeros to shame
>>6427362To be fair, every single one of them is probably drinking some serious idolatry kool-aid. They are trying to fulfill their ideas of what a knight SHOULD be in a land that has no knights to compare themselves to. It's kind of like a dude swearing he is going to be a great samurai after reading like two examples of bushido and giving his 110% to be as much like he dreams samurai are. If they were actually born and lived in Westeros and saw how these "noble" knights tend to behave they'd probably not take the idea of honor and duty quite so seriously. Small blessing I suppose that Essos is full of absolute shitheels with no concept of chivalry.
>>6427371True... Knighthood in westeros is mostly a political appointment after all, and it is rare to find a true knight. Currently in the story only Brienne of Tarth is embodying those ideals in Westeros and in the past even Duncan was more of an anomaly than anything. Not one soul in a Tourney of Knights stepped up to Brightflame but him. Honour in such a world is still hard to come by, even tho they are trying to fulfil an ideal that isn't there it is commendable. I would probably say that they should at least know of how most knights act tho, considering Blackfyre history of getting fucked over and over again (even before the war of the ninepenny kings)
>>6427119>>6427151+1
>>6427362>>6427371They are a mixture of Old Valyrian and Westerosi culture. In their eyes, the Blackfyre's are a Dragonlord Dynasty. They also style themselves as the Queensguard counterpart to the iconic and highest ideals of Knighthood that is the Kingsguard. So they would hold themselves to extremely high standards just to prove their legitimacy.Keep in mind they apparently still abide by the Valyrian god worship. >>6427380They're based in Essos and their most common foe is slavers and Dothraki. Not to mention hearing about what happened to the Blackfyres. The only reason we were given any kind of leniency was due to being Westerosi and not judging them as despicable mutants. Keep in mind how Jason interacted with them upon seeing and meeting them for the first time. He treated them normally and even honorably, which would have had them shocked and stunned. Jason might be an autist but his brother is also a fellow 'mutant' since he is a dwarf. So Jason was never prejudiced against them and since they aspired to be knights treated them as such despite being in Essos. Thereby acknowledging their hard work and sacrifice thus proving themselves. They only feel discouraged because there are no wars to fight officially to prove themselves and they fear for their Blackfyre saviors. As without them, they would be without a Dragonlord and risk degenerating. This is an especially worrisome threat to such knights, especially those as dreadful as the Queensguard. Hence why they are being so lenient to Jason a normal man and high noble who truly acknowledges them that they hope can help salvage the Blackfyres. Given Jason being able to introduce a trade partner and even help with infrastructure, there is a very good chance he can do just that, assuming Lady Blackscales doesn't completely succumb to madness. Which is their biggest concern, followed by no heirs.Jason's angle on the other hand is much more questionable and upsetting his wife with his foolishness. However Jason is an Adopted Dragonlord and the Blackfyres can potentially really aid his twin brother Tyrion. Jason also doesn't underestimate the Blackfyres despite being Matrilineal now, given his taste in women. He just understands that Westeros especially now wouldn't ever consider them but in Essos they're still useful.
>>6427411I really doubt these guys are deeply considering the benefits that Jason could bring their liege.Their internal monologues and actions really paint them as naive in the political sense and more concerned with their personal honour and the ladies conduct.
>>6427428They indeed seem to take after Daemon Blackfyre himself in that regard. He too was a honourable fool just like Ned Stark
>>6427434I deeply prefer an honourable fool to an ignoble schemer. The world would run smoother but bloody with the Fool

Years of service before their return home will be also agreed upon.)- Other stuff to be decidedGifts- We send them discretly some smiths/artisans and some learned men (all trusted and loyal to Jason) for help their industry and the city it self- Maybe an order of some arrows, shields and raw materials. Include armor pieces of scale, chain, splint, or lammellar.- Other Architectural Projects of Jason for Mantarys : 1 A written and drawn study for give the city a "Sky-Shield" closing it to the outside poisonous air and occasional dragonglass winds (might have an illumination issue ? I just throwed a cool name but its not too tall in my imagination). 2 A written and drawn study for reform the current closed agriculture spaces of Mantarys (this might be key for ensure tpopulation growth) 3 A written and drawn study for new fortifications for the city that uses the terrain to its full advantage, and made for stand modern siege warfare.Removed talk of husbands, Since she already has a man and doesn't seem like the sort to truk with a husband for marriage and a Paramour for love.Removed sending a rider, they already did this and frankly paying for what you already have is bad practice.
>>6427448I mean, the deal is nice and all but they imprisoned us even if it was done in emotional distress. We can probably get a lot more concessions out of them to "right that wrong" as honour demands. I am sure Tyrion will help buff out those detailsimo we shouldn't have offered any marriage stuff anyways, they dont know us so it would be rude. (a side note, don't think Balarys and Lady Blackfyre are romantically involved, it seemed more like a father-daughter type of relationship to me)
>>6427411>Keep in mind they apparently still abide by the Valyrian god worship. They actually practice a varient hybrid of the worship of the seven, one that i found interesting from the GoT mod for crusader kings. The Faith of Dragons, it is rooted in the belief that the 14 flames were simply more diverse aspects of the seven, and by extension, further aspects of the One.>>6427411>>6427380>>6427434That's the crux of it. Their only example of Knighthood would be of the idolized Daemon Blackfyre, the progenitor of their house, along with the other honorable knights that Blackfyre blood produced. It's an ideal to live up to, and one that has been commonly kept by the males of the Blackfyre line, and from them to their squires.
>>6427471We should do the Jason thing and say its water under the bridge, which would trigger them in a good way especially when Lady Haenorah understands the reality of things and that Jason&Asha only wanted to offer help and knowledge. They would then have to give us gift something due to the nobility of the gesture, which benefits us and improve our starting relation even more. The agreement will be done with a good advantage afterwards thanks to this, and of course Tyrion mind. But I recon we would be fair still, since Jason is not against seeing Mantarys flourish. Also the agreement was yet to be offered, so not one single point of it was mentioned. We are still at "explain late Targayens dynasty history, start of Baratheon dynastry and current world situation" part, but we are barely even started telling it. So we have a lot of talk to do still.>>6427448Good. I approve of the revising. I was thinking of doing it myself since i made that write-in and some stuff that happened now made those two points not necessary to do.
BTW QM I dunno if I said this last thread but I am 500% certain that Haenora would be a fan-favorite were she canon. Maybe not when the books came out, but she'd retroactively get more popularity in the mid 2010s as anime got more popular. This is because you made a tall dragon mommy with big "I CAN FIX HER" energy.
>>6427495She'd be a fan favourite sure but she isn't nearly evil enough for "I can fix her" territory, in planetos that is rightfully Cersei Lannister's spot. On another topic, do you guys think there is a cosmic force out there that makes it so some Lannister's always end up in the dungeon of a slightly not all there matriarch?
>>6427521Since Tyrion will most likely not be taken by Cat, the loom of fate has woven us back into this dilemma. It's like pottery, it rhymes.
>>6427521No no it's more like "I can fix her broken heart" as opposed to "I can fix her fucked up evil ass tendencies".Haenora is the fairytale princess that the reader wishes to sooth the ills and ails of, wheras Cersei is the "I shouldn't stick my dick in crazy. HOWEVER..."
>>6427471Well yeah, But what concessions. The wealth of the city and it's Vsteel is it's most attractive asset, and they have a shit ton of it.Like damn man, they had MANSE SOLDIERS outfitted with the gear. Surely some of that armory can be forked over for some compensation.>>6427473Mhmm, Playing it off ourselves is a good move. But leaving Tyrion to press the advantage of "you imprisoned my brother for telling you the truth?!" lets us have our cake and eat it too.
>>6427648We could potentially get more but I believe a single Valyrian Steel longsword (for Sandor) to signify friendship between both parties will be more than enough to make this whole fiasco right. We are offering them a lifeline with our trade deal which in their position is a lot more important than a single piece of their armory. I wouldn't mind a water under the bridge approach either, but with all of the clauses in our trade deal Mantarys stands to gain a lot anyways which will give our company a lot of influence over the city. If all goes as planned it would more or less put Mantarys in the position of a strong regional power which other "free" cities would have to contend with. With their fortified position if the Lady Blackscale doesn't lose her ambitions she could invade Tolos and have full control over the Demon Road as a whole, and the tolls collected from a safe Demon Road would truly be more gold than they know what to do with.
>>6427790>believe a single Valyrian Steel longsword (for Sandor) to signify friendship between both parties will be more than enough to make this whole fiasco right.Tywin is that you???? Devilish gambit, sir.
>>6427793Look, in this situation honour demands some sort of compensation. Jason was more than friendly with them and what we are going to offer them is going to be worth more to them than anything they have in their armoury. They lack connections and even access to simple basic information, so a single sword is a cheap apology if they can afford to outfit so many of their guards with Valyrian Steel anyways
>>6427648>Well yeah, But what concessions. There is some stuff I have thought about that I didn't add in the 3 agreements. It's why I left a voice like this :- Other stuff to be decidedThis being mostly, I think :- Information and knowledge of the Valyrian peninsulaAnd a few other points we would want, if we think about it.>Mhmm, Playing it off ourselves is a good move. But leaving Tyrion to press the advantage of "you imprisoned my brother for telling you the truth?!" lets us have our cake and eat it too.If we want it to go like that is also fine. Though I assume any piece of Valyrian gear they have was taken with heavy casualties and sacrifice. They probably learned to make better expeditions through trial and error in time, but still, it's doomed Valyria.
>>6427867If we hadn't been to Valyria ourselves asking for one of their weapons would be insulting, but we have been there and know the sacrifice those lands require. By putting us in a dungeon when we had been invited as guests to Lady Blackfyre's manse she violated guest right, putting us under the threat of death when we had just escaped the doom with our lives. Asking for a weapon as compensation truly isn't much, otherwise how are they any different than the hated Bloodraven who killed one of their own when they felt safe under the protection of guest right
>>6427873A greatsword would be nice. But a long sword is acceptable.A very temperate offering is "if Broghtroar comes into your hands, you will make every effort to deliver it to the Lannisters"
While we're here, we should ask them about their opinion/plans concerning The Beggar King.Leaving him to his fate might be more humiliating, but I wonder if the Blackscales might take action since they didn't previously know. This goes for both short term and long term.Even if Jason wouldn't want any part of it, we can still gauge the situation and feign support.
>>6428109Jason will tell them the fate of the Targaryens anyways however I doubt the Blackscales can help them even if they want to. Both Viserys and Dany are under the thumb of Ilyrio and Varys and their sorry state is engineered to allow for fAegon to rise uncontested, and there aint no way those two will let go of a potential threat to their plans. There just isn't a way to contest the spy network those two built and seeing as they let this branch rot when they had the power to help they would hide the Beggar Prince and Dany from the Blackscales as well so they could be sold off and forgotten in the Dothraki sea
>>6428244I mean... there's only so much that a spy network can do against brute force. If a 6'8" brick wall in pitch black armor knocks politely on their door and says "I have summons from your distant kin. Please come with me." and just takes 'em to Mantarys, what the fuck is Varys gonna do? Send an assassin there, like a normal person isn't going to stick out like a sore thumb?Of course, they could always try and shuffle Viserys around so he can't be reached. But with a proper appeal playing off of his infamous pride to make him want to come to the Blackscales, suddenly an uncooperative Viserys is a lot harder to handle. This forces Varys and Illyrio to either make their control over him and Dany a lot more official (and thus reduces their usefulness drastically), or let it slide and hope that they get forgotten in Mantarys (also bad, because there's no gain).
>>6428250I feel like the Spider and the Fatty would notice an absolute UNIT on a direct approach vector to their favorite little pawns. Or that they'd have a handful of agents nearby at any given time. But most importantly, if the Blackfyres got their hands on the Targ brats they'd almost immediately kill them. So if it ever got that far it wouldn't really be a question of what the two schemers would do since they'd be squabbling over corpses at that point. Also, being a big tough guy doesn't stop you from getting poisoned or having all your gear stolen while you sleep. Lots can happen on a long road. Always better to be strong and cunning rather than REALLY strong.
>>6428250Even if the information that the Blackscales are looking for them reaches them (which it might never due to all the info they get being filtered thru Varys) since Viserys and Dany are both kids I don't think it would be hard to make them scared of obviously mutated people clad in dark armour. Like just tell the kids Mantarys the city of monsters is looking to get you and they will want nothing to do with it. Not like Viserys is the smartest kid anyways>>6428257I don't think they'd kill some poor kids. They despise Bloodraven for what he did, they would probably try to not be as dishonourable as him.
>>6428244>Ned does his whole "I want no part in this plan to assassinate an innocent girl" speech when he comes south>Jason, like his father before him, goes to Robert with a way to kill the Targ survivors which conveniently doesn't get the blood on Roberts hands, since the Blackscales will be the ones doing itTywin would be so proud
>>6428259>I don't think they'd kill some poor kidsYou're right, they might brutally torture them. How shortsighted of me.
>>6428279I believe Lady Haenora is smart enough to not blame two dispossessed children, one who was 8 when his father was dethroned and the other born after their family lost all power for the sins of their forefathers. She might still geld Viserys if he gets uppity tho. That "I am the dragon" bullshit won't fly well if said in her presense. I know in canon Mantarys beheaded Dany's envoys but a queen demanding an alliance is a lot different than two kids with no money, no prospects for the future and a king that wants them dead being moved from house to house trying to survive. From what we have seen these people are honourable and through us they wont be isolated and will know what is going on in the wider world. I see no indication they would kill those TargsNow Bloodraven on the other hand.. if they knew what he was right now no force on earth would be able to stop them trying to burn down every weirwood they can find. They'd make R'hllor blush with the amount of fires they'd cause
>>6428288Executing envoys is a sign of utter hate and willingness to eradicate the other party. They have special protections under the flag of peace. And this gal threw us in a dungeon for telling her bad news.I'm pretty sure she would kill the targs in essos if she knew about them
>>6428308We did shatter all the hopes and dreams she had with the news we gave. 30 years of complete isolation from the outside world and the first news she recieves is the utter decimation of her entire bloodline, that is enough to make anyone irrational. Aerys burned people for far lessAnd with the envoys it would be nearing 50 years of no contact. To her it must have seemed like a Targaryen colonial force sent by Jaehaerys seeking local allies to fight her battles for them. If I were in her position I'd cut off the head of those envoys as well. The Blackfyre's were always the more honourable branch, I believe with information of the current times Lady Blackscale would show clemency and honour to two kids who are in similar (arguably worse) circumstances to when the Blackfyres first came to Essos. Of course, these are all moot points since there is no way that Ilyrio and Varys will let those two amount to anything at all.
>>6428313I don't care if we brought her news that the. . . We brought her worse news than that, though my imagination is failing me.There are rules to these things. And she does not care to follow them.Hate of the Targs would see the beggar Prince dead and his sister besides. She might give a pass with the little girl if she got there early enough but a teenager? I wouldn't bet on it.Also, you know, don't kill envoys unprovoked. It's bad for everybody involved.Honour and law is a fiction that takes a lot of effort to make. Abusing it tends to leave it useless and mocked.

>>6428345>Gonna put money down we hit 200 posts of anons chatting before another updateFork found in kitchen.
>>6428288They've also been told for generations that the Targs are their enemies and want to drown their children in piss or something. Which is actually more than likely true. There is a seething, foundational hatred between the two, and the Blackfyres have the bitterness of diaspora to fuel their loathing unlike the Targs who just had to deal with occasional uppity usurpers sailing the sea to get their armies crushed.Smart isn't really a question, either. It's not unwise to crush your enemy utterly. Nor is it unwise to fully unmake your foe even when they are not a threat. There's no promise for the future so making sure there is no variables is just good math. I for one will not bank on the better nature of someone when they've had to listen to bedtime stories of flaying the "traitors to the rightful heirs" for about a century. And Haenora also has a "personal" reason in that it was the dog-fucker-knight of a Targaryan usurper that killed her dad and a price must be paid for that, conveniently there are some Targ whelps right there to exact it upon.I would expect her knights to maybe have qualms with it, but not her. The wounds are gonna be very, very fresh for quite a while for her.
I think you guys are glossing over the fact that if we tell the Blackfyres about Viserys, they'll also find and kill Danaerys, and without Dany, we don't get her dragons, and without her dragons, the Others *will* destroy Westeros.
>>6428525Too meta. Plus we have dragon blood so we could >Pic related Or the Blackfyres could take the eggs and we would be the one Westerosi family they're on good terms with. Could REALLY upset the canon timeline, REALLY fuck with the loom of fate, weave up something unrecognizably strange...
>>6428525I mean I don't want to tell them about the brats. I also don't know if Jason actually knows about them, anyway. At least any more than "They exist" if he overheard any talks about them by Tywin or Robert. But it would work out in the end. Surely someone would manage to have a schizo vision before the Comet comes and set something up. Hell, in the diverging canon of having the Targ brats killed, maybe Haenora would get ahold of the eggs and she'd do it in a manic episode. How's that for a Mother Of Dragons? One with proper draconic features. Eat your heart out, little Daniel girl. Alternatively, Faceless Men or Red Priests do it. For giggles.
>>6428525>>6428533Haenorah is a lot more interesting to me than Danny. She could rally the same kind of forces if she had dragons. I kind of love the idea of a deformed draconic queen and her small mutant kingdom raising dragons and gathering hordes of savage exotic warriors. It is so aesthetically evil by typical fantasy/tolkien sensibilities, and their invasion of Westeros whilst being generally more honorable and rational - and eventually saving the world by taking on the Others - is such an incredibly GRRM subversion of fantasy tropes. I'm almost surprised he didn't come up with it himself.
>>6428496Call me an optimist if you want but I believe her good nature will prevail. Viserys she might kill considering his ambitions and awful personality, but Dany? Surely she can sympathise with a small girl being moved around and being forced to live as a bargaining chip for other people's ambitions. We are trusting her good nature now, i dont see why we shouldn't do so with this as well
>>6428533>I don't want to tell them about the bratsThe problem is that the Blackscales will eventually find out anyways if we help Mantarys establish contact with the rest of Essos. Better that Heanora hear it from us and we gain favor with her rather than her knights hear it from some random merchant. If Jason is the one to tell her, he might be able to steer her reaction/plans.>>6428533>>6428536As awesome as that would be, I think it might be too much of a headache for the QM to deal with if things diverge so drastically from the canon timeline. Keeping things similar enough provides more source material to work with
>>6428536Well cause he wanted his "elves" in the form of Valyrians, so he wouldn't want to make them gribblies except when it was tragic and it killed them. They're supposed to be ethereally, almost supernaturally beautiful people, with magic in their blood and mystery in their past and all that jazz. Despite what the shows seem to want to say, with some of the casting choices kek. So the idea probably never even crossed his mind.>>6428545>Surely she can sympathise with a small girl being moved around and being forced to live as a bargaining chip for other people's ambitions.I don't know. She seemed to think of Daeron like her knight in shining armor rather than feeling like she was a political piece being moved. Maybe I am misreading it and she's just being willfully delusional to protect herself psychologically.>trusting her better nature Well you'd be comparing apples to carrots there. Completely different scenarios. She's mad at us because we gave her bad news, she'd be mad at them for daring to be born of the wrong bloodline in that scenario. >>6428549I still don't know if Jason is even aware of their existence to tell about them in the first place. I can't remember if it ever came up before. But even if she does find out about them, through us or otherwise, I am sure Varys and Illirio have taken steps against the Blackfyre women taking vengeance out upon the kiddos. Since they'd both also probably assume any dragon with black scales would wish to see the Targs dead. So I'm not too worried about it either way.
>>6428557>I still don't know if Jason is even aware of their existence to tell about them in the first placeJason should know about them since it is common knowledge those two escaped to essos. He would have no clue where they are tho>she's just being willfully delusional to protect herself psychologically.I see it as that. Daemon caused her to hate her own body to the point of never showing her skin to anyone but her close guard. And now she will know he is dead. A part of her healing journey will be to take off her rose tinted glasses and see that it wasn't her fault the guy was a cuntI won't say she doesn't have the potential of going full Bobby B on them, but considering her own life of being abandoned and left to rot due to no fault of her own I think she'd find a kindred spirit in Dany at least. I'd like to believe that is the case, historically Blackfyre's have always had more honour than Targaryens
Looking like lean back and relax won, with some people wanting to get a visit on the wifey and maybe talk on politics or lay some ground work for Tyrion at least?
>>6428593Even if not politics, then at least inform them about the Targ's being overthrown by Robert. Poor Heanora has been devastated by the news of her father, so at least the death of her arch rivals might cheer her up.
>>6428593>>6428599Yeah I can get behind that

I wanna get one of these mutant knights in our cadre, I can't lie. I like their whole deal and how chill they are, and they would fit in with our colorful crew of misfits.
>>6429269Buddy cop movie with Sandor "All Knights Are Fakers" (heart of gold with more chivalry than most actual knights) and Ser "Literally a Giant Monster" (actually lives up to every ideal of chivalry that he possibly can). Throw Brienne in there when she starts going on adventures.
>>6429269Naaah, I don't think we should. The more we expose them to the wider world, the less intimidating and mysterious they are. With how shitty the world is we need to ease them up first to the reality.Plus, it would be easier if they stay here to make up our fake story of how we survived Mantarys. My idea is that we got lucky to find an intelligent but still bloodthirsty mutant gang leader who caught us, and Tyrion paid the ransom with some gold because they're stupid and that was more than they've ever seen.
>>6429269Well, Ser Valenor seems to have the desire to travel and see the world, so he might certainly be open to join our retinue on Lady Blackfyre's leave. I do think that would be really cool as well but it depends on how well the trade deal fliesJason is going to have the reputation of a mustache twirling villain to all the traditionalists in Westeros tho. He is the antithesis of nearly every single cultural expectation placed on him mostly by just being a weirdly well adjusted and good natured guy. No wonder Tywin is seethe central...
>>6429281We could just say we found a honourable man who saved our life from the dangers of the Demon Road and knighted him for his valour even if he is a mutant. Any knight can make a knight after all and it isn't like mutations in more "civilised" cities around Old Valyria are completely unheard ofI think making an excuse is the easiest part of this ordeal, getting the Blackcloaks to move an inch away from the protection of their Lady is the real issue when it comes to getting one on our cadre
>>6429279>>6429281>>6429288>>6429306Since we were going to use these negotiations to angle for a Valyrian weapon, we could pose an alternative in having one of her Blackcloaks sworn to our service? Then let Haenorah decide if she'll honor us with a weapon, or one of her warriors. Really early in this quest, I pitched the idea that Jason would have a rebellious streak to him (like all of Tywin's kids). But instead of that manifesting as sociopathy, incest, or alcoholism, he would be a criminal that used his architectural talents to go out at night and rob all the nobles and merchants he has to rub elbows with by day. Now I am kind of liking the idea that, beyond just being an extremely chill, amiable sort of guy that (almost compulsively) resolves complex conflicts... He kind of gets a kick out of making friends with the kinds of people Tywin wouldn't even bother speaking to. Lesser houses, Summer Islanders, sorcerors, mangled enforcers, Martells and their bastards - now Mantaryan mutants? Some part of Jason likes to push the envelope around who he breaks bread with.
>>6429336>"Jason, even if you're not as problematic as your brothers and sister, the friendship you keep to yourself brings shame every waking moment you keep them around.">"First I can't make my port and now I can't have friends? Can a nigga just have ANYTHING in this House?"
>>6429339>"Even your language is being ruined by them! Where did you even pick up such terms?">"The Summer Islands."
>>6427448>Since we were going to use these negotiations to angle for a Valyrian weapon, we could pose an alternative in having one of her Blackcloaks sworn to our service?>>6427448- Jason and Latterborn become capable to recruit a limited amount of volunteering Mantaryians to use has personal guards (they will be well paid, armored, armed and trained. Years of service before their return home will be also agreed upon.)
>>6429345>>6429336could be done
>>6429336Unironically, Jason's hidden talent might be being a genuinely good diplomat. His appreciation for hard work no matter whose hands it comes from is endearing to everyone who strive for something, and his curiosity only makes people more amenable to him. I am not sure him pushing the envelope when it comes to the company he keeps is something concious tho, perhaps it is but to me it mostly seemed to be that he simply never internalised the "you are better than everyone else" philosophy Tywin tried to instill in him. He also seems to not care much for social norms that doesn't align with his interests, disregarding any that would limit his learning
>>6429356Jason might actually have imposter syndrome because of Tywin telling him he's a fuckup who isn't as useful as his siblings.
>>6429362Damn he actually might, would be very realistic in his case too
>>6429362THAT'S WHAT I'VE BEEN SAYING SINCE THREAD 1, MAYBE 2The whole thing about Jason being mediocre at everything is that he's put at the standard of people like Jaime and other knights, while he might be someone who's above average in the things he was trained since young age, constantly being put down by Tywin and in turn, putting down himself, limiting himself to realize and measure his actual capabilitiesOr if it's not that, truly his escape from Tywin and the expedition to Valyria buffed him so significantly. Like throwing a kid in a Jungle and finding him out completely safe but obviously changed, something like Tarzan. He was finally away from under Tywin's thumb and being left to actually grow and develop, and then threw himself to danger for the sake of it, cranking up his need of survival and other skills. The social skills he got it from all those fortuitous encounters since he was able to interact with other people, and even if he was underestimated like someone inoffensive and weak, it helped him to use it like some kind of protective shell to the eyes of the Westerosi lords back in his home. People might've see him as a simpleton who maybe gets whipped around and controlled by his wife, or maybe someone easily corruptible and easy to sway, but after the expedition there's just two ways he might be perceived: someone lucky like his ancestor Lann the Clever, or someone who plays dumb and it's actually a powerhouse. Whatever raw material Jason was made off, it was certainly shaped by strife, perils and dangers.
Wait a second...That Summer Islander who got shredded by the wind glass was the first time Jason saw someone die, right?Does that mean the scum along the Demon Road who he fought would have been Jason's first kill? Or did he kill anyone during the riot at Oldtown when he was knighted?I'm thinking about that scene where Robert commands Jamie and Ser Barriston to tell war stories and describe their first kill; in which case I'm wondering how Jason might respond. Saying that he killed some slavers in order to protect his wife is a genuinely beautiful.
>>6429412Well, his first human kills were those Ghiscari, but he had to kill his fair share of cursed Valyrians beforehand
>>6429412In the riot he saved a woman and child. In the Doom, He slew deathly ashen wright's and witnessed a man flayed to the bone by dragon glass winds. A half dozen or so more died under his vision. On the Demonroad is his first human kill, 2 slaver Ghiscari who thought they would make a good sale.No notation of him ever going hunting
>>6429412>>6429414>"Ser Jason Lannister, I have to ask, how was your first kill?">The group of young squires, knights, and the maids serving the drinks would look at him, expectantly, eager to hear what Jason "The Doom Tamer" Lannister kill was, and maybe learn more about his legendary expedition>"Aaah, yes, my first kill! A glorious endeavor for such a dirty business. Well, I have to say with honesty, that it was an act... Of love">Everyone looks around, confused, while Jason, with the biggest, shit eating grin and caressing his beard, let the silent hang for a moment before continuing>"It was right after the expedition, going towards Mantarys... And I had to valiantly defend my wife">Everyone in the tavern roll their eyes and barely contain a few sighs, as they were baited with another story of how much he loves his wifeDo you think Jason gives the vibes of being a cool uncle like Bobby in a future? Maybe look fairly Nordish after Asha's conquest and uniting of the Iron Isles? Spiritually Dornish, Aesthetically Nordmen, originally Greenlander
>>6429414We probably won't be able to share this story with everyone but his first first kill was an entire cursed dragonlord household. It was a mercy kill sure but I doubt killing some weak slavers after such a traumatising experience even registered too much for Jason.
>>6429421ritualized mercy killing too. Fucking metal and hardcore as hell. All cursed and some twisted even the babes. Yeah I very much doubt you will EVER get Jason to admit what his first kill eve was unless he was so wasted he couldn't remember the conversation afterwards. However there were witnesses and they could share the tale in his stead. As Jason sure as hell isn't ever going to reveal it himself.Otherwise, the only 'human' kills were firstly ghiscari slavers.
>>6429439Are slavers really human, though?
>>6429439I imagine him getting very wine drunk with Jaime one day and exchanging stories when he asks about his trip to Valyria or his first kill and Jason gets a 1000 mile stare>it was in an ancient dragonlord's manse>I killed them brother, they were in agonising suffering for centuries>burning from the inside out>not just the men, but the women and children too>I killed them all>the gods.. they are cruelthen he chugs a bottle of wine and passes out on the spot
>>6429456Well, in comparison to undead eternally on fire ash wights they are
>>6429670Once Jason is back at Casterly Rock safe and sound, we should absolutely send a letter to Braavos and ask for a priest of The Many Faced God to visit as soon as possible. Tell them about the demon we saw and ask if Jason's afterlife is in jeopardy. If their god is angry with him, then ask what we can do to atone... or on the flip side, determine whether that demon was completely full of shit when it tried to guilt us into accepting the debt.I'm still convinced that the demon was lying (specifically because it tried to get Sarella to turn on us), but better to make sure, right? 'All men must die' is probably fine by Jason when he's seen what happens to those who aren't allowed to die, and he'd want to make sure he doesn't share that fate.
>>6429679Nay, Jason contested to the claims of the demon and it bowed to the latterborn in return. They hold no debts. Although Jason directly conversing with a fragment of their god would be something that would interest the house of black and white greatly, but they are also rather secretiveIt could lead to them granting Jason a boon, but I am not sure how wise it is to get involved with a bunch of death cultists
>>6429679I don't see ANY value to getting the murder cultists involved. We are fine, our afterlife isn't in any kind of danger. I don't think the bravossi have an afterlife either, that's more of a Westerosi thing.Though the dothraki have some too.The many faced god is just Death.
>>6430017>you met an angel of death? and you are still alive? well that can't be right, let's fix that right now
>>6430033Nah, Bravossi zealots would take it the other way."Death speaks your name, and you die. That you are stood here, means he did not wish you yet."It's a very self-reenforcing ideology. Their hitman assassins, the faceless men, also have a thing about never being permitted to take a life that isn't called.Aka, no killing for personal gain [in theory].Ignore how they charge rates to assassinate high officials. But they do also have a thing about death being a merciful gift, borne out of their flight from the doom of Valaria so. . you know. Gifts need the right recipient.
>>6430033A fragment of their god let Jason live it would be heretical for them to go against the decision of their god
>>6430333>"Ser Jason, Let's see is I understood your story... When our God came to you, saying you were indebted to it, instead of paying the price, you insisted you owed no debt?">"That's right, no matter how it tried to spin it, the Latterborn owed no debt, and thus we escaped.">The Faceless man just shits himselfTbh I can't wait for whatever type of interaction we get once the story reach the Faceless Man. Will they see us like a semi-Saint for not only meeting their God, but winning against them using their logic? A heretic that they will gladly accept a way lesser pay if someone hires them to kill us? Outmost respect? Shit can get wild
>>6430336They might just confirm our suspicions and say that the demon is a fraud who's full of shit. In which case, they wouldn't view Jason as someone special. They'd just think "this guy encountered something that was larping as us. Cool I guess".
Here's a fun thought experiment to pass the time...Elden Ring worldbuilding was also done GRRM. What do you guys think the characters in Game of Thrones would think of the characters in Elden Ring?Stannis would probably have immense respect and sympathy towards Morgott.Godfrey and Robert are quite different, but they'd relate to each other's depression after their respective lives plateaued.Littlefinger would be ultra inspired if he learned about how The Tarnished climbed from literally nothing all the way to the highest position in the land.On the flip side, Varys would probably be a #1 Ranni fan since she wants the world to rule itself rather than be puppeteered by supernatural beings. No one would have anything in common with Marika except maybe for Cersei during that brief window after Joffery died where she said "what's the point of power if it can't protect the ones you love".
>>6431708>cersei idolizes marika>not because she defended her family but because she got to fuck herself literally and rule over everything with an iron fist
>>6431708>Littlefinger would be ultra inspiredI've always had a thought about "what would the timeline look like if Petyr managed to clutch a win against Brandon Stark?" Like, Brandon slips on a rock and Pete knocks him over and wails on him until he wins or something.Does he get his fairytale romance? Does Brandon stand up and then just fucking strangle him to death after? Do the Tullys say "no lol" and marry Cat off to Brandon anyways? Does Brandon say "Aight, I respect it" and back off?
>>6431708Well Radahn is just Robert Baratheon without any of Robert's flaws so anybody who likes Robert would probably like Radahn.Arya would think Malenia was the coolest bitch ever.Brienne and Nepheli Loux would be besties.>>6431716The Tullys would almost certainly tell him to fuck off.
>>6431708The dragons in Elden Ring are intelligent, can talk, and can even shapeshift into a humanoid-like form. This would make the Targaryens either freaked out, super jealous, or they'd think it's the coolest shit. The Targ's would also sympathize with all the incest.Speaking of which,Loras and Renly would be best "friends" with Miquella. The faith of The Seven would be horrified by the idea of Dungeater, who can poison the afterlife of all your ancestors if he curses you.I have no idea how the church would feel about Goldmask, who argued with God and won.>>6431720Radahn was a bit more of a nerd than Bobby B since Radahn went and had to actually study magic. It'd be like if Robert went to Old Town and had to earn a few links.
>>6431708Tywin would kill to have a son like Messmer, who despite being deformed still obeys his parent and serves his purpose until his dying breath.Mohg would actually look down on Dany for her pursuit of the Iron Throne. She frees all those slaves, but then heads towards war just so that she can reclaim a lost birthright rather than stay and try to build a new future for the downtrodden.
So boring assholes, is this better than active discussion? Are you getting everything you want?
>>6432375Anons that hate the constant lore-chatting probably just don't check the thread but every few days now because the pace of updates has slowed down to a crawl, and so I imagine they are pretty pleased that the discussion has died, seeing as it makes it easier to identify if the QM has potentially dropped another update.
Sorry for no update guys, it’s been a really busy month for some reason. Legit a big overlap of birthdays, Father’s Day, family plans, and obligations.Still present, still chipping at update.
>>6432399I am taken by a certain level of spite.
>>6433233It's not especially rational either.
>>6433234I'm not starting a conversation either but I enjoyed having them.

>>6433286>Gets tricked one>Shit it's pantsIt was just a little bit of tomfoolery anon, come on.
>>6433246>>6433286absolutely satisfied.
I think the scale lady is hot, and even if somewhat insane, I think we can fix her.
>>6433481She's in her 40s and desperately needs a baby right NOW to avoid total extinction of her House. We aren't exactly in a position to help without getting shanked to death by the reaver wife. Hell, I don't think even our blinded uncle could save us from that sticky situation...>>6432399We already gameplanned whatever we could; to be frank, there really isn't much else to discuss. Even the Westerosi future projects have been covered Like the Riverland canal project with two viable locations or mapping out King's Landing to troll the Spider and Littlefinger, assuming we don't get fucked over by Tywin again. We already came up with a negotiation plan to help Tyrion out with the Latterborn. Meanwhile, Asha hasn't revealed what her actual plans are to Jason yet. Hell, even Jason's 'plans' are made up of construction or how to accidentally get him to do something, according to player plots Like when we sneakily introduced Asha to her viable allies the Martells, despite them hating Lannister guts..
>>6433503If only we'd voted for Marge Tyrell instead of Asha, we could probably marry Haenora thus securing the Blackfyre armory for Jason/House Lannister. The Tyrells would hate us but oh well.
>>6433503While Asha is against the idea of salt wives in the current way the ironborn practice it, it is also PAINFUL to see the blackfyre lady be left to rot, likely without a suitable spouse.Maybe a justification like the Martell Paramour could be called in? Or maybe this could be a showcase of an alteration of Ironborn culture, where the idea of saltwives and rockwives in a household are nonexistant, instead allowing for more equal polyamory?I know i am somewhat grasping at straws here, but WE HAVE A SCALED MILF RIGHT THERE!it would be a crime to not take it upon ourselves to ferry her back to the rock and teach her how to love and have a life of her own after her previous purpose was shattered!
>>6433524the woman has a lover. Convince her to marry em
>>6433503Said it before, say it again...HAENORA X SANDOR WHEN???!?
>>6433481>>6433524Impeccably based taste, but there's no way that Jason could be the one to help her. That said, it doesn't mean we can't help her find someone else. The question is how many bachelors are there to pick from who aren't married by the time we reach the canon...Fuck it, marry Theon to her so that he doesn't get REEK'D
>>6433538>TheonIsn't he kind of an asshole?
>>6433566So is Sandor, but both of them are canonically capable of developing in a positive direction like all of God's children when shone the appropriate measure of grace, should they choose to embrace mercy, however, he still isn't appropriate because he's even younger than us, I think by three years or so? It might just be too unseemly of an age gap on top of her condition. Being married to a disreputable, disfigured, AND infertile woman? I think if we tried to suggest it, Asha might bash us. If Balon heard we thought to add that kind of insult to injury, I think he would drown us.I think Balon or Asha taking her as a vassal and initiating her into Ironborn culture in order to empower her to take a salt husband and thus keep the Blackfyre legacy alive... Could be interesting.
>>6433566He suffers from an inferiority complex and his own father tried to murder him so he couldn't challenge the preferred heir, his older sister Asha. He was raised by the Starks to be a lord in their style of rulership. Theon really got done dirty throughout the series. Like, damn man. It was never his idea to betray the Starks.>>6433524She needs a legitimate heir for the Blackfyres which is tricky. Even more so when its a literal dragon lady milf whose about to hit menopause. Like seriously who the fuck can handle that? No Jason doesn't count even though his autistic ass definitely could. The guy has weird ass taste in women and is spiritually Dornish, albeit without the whoring. In terms of how Asha views it...well she DID offer him a threesome that one time but he took it as a threat. She does have a ravenous sexual appetite not helped by Jason being her exact type as a pretty boy So Asha is...sexually open to it. So long as she gets to join in, much to Jason's horror and every other man's extreme envy. Outside of sex, however she doesn't like the idea of sharing him.As for how Asha views salt wives she isn't against it per a sey given how she handles her troops. However she IS against the stifling burden of traditional lady duties. Which has her seething like nothing else. Only Brienne and later Arya can grasp how much fucking HATES it.She does dislike, however is the status of Salt Wife offspring being viewed as lesser. As canonically the only man she considered marrying was the knighted grandson of a salt wife. Which she found regrettable as it was why she couldn't marry him as it lowered his status too much but neither is she outright against the tradition. Rather, she desires its reform like how she views other Ironborn methods.Which is quite hypocritical of her, given her possessiveness and protectiveness over Jason. Albeit she makes the concession of sex, so long as she can join in too. Not sure how Jason can point that out to her though without high impact sexual violence. So Asha has put some thought into it but doesn't want the traditional 'Greenlander' method either with bastards and being an accursed LADY. Jason on the other hand who is definitely against it. Not that I blame him, given her insanely high libido. He can handle her... eccentricities, but when directly involves him again he panics. After all, he DID consider that threesome offer as a legitimate threat from Asha was his reaction.>>6433535I don't think Sandor can handle all that fire, anon. He needs a chill ass lady to calm him down. Don't forget how the summer islander girl handled him. He needs a soft chill not a fiery touch.
>>6433574Balon might on account of wanting to eliminate Theon whom he considers a disgrace and threat to Asha being heir. I wouldn't be surprised if he were that spiteful. Asha on the other hand would drown Jason over it and kick his ass. As Theon is her only remaining family member, she actually likes and wants to be close to. She sorta wants everyone else dead but him.Haenora is far too lady like for Asha's tastes and recently pissed her off bigly. Asha prefers any other type of woman, which is why she has taken a liking to Dornish women who are much more likely to suit her tastes. However she would agree with the Blackfyres being a matriarchal and matrilineal House now would get quite the kick out her given how that fits into her own desires and ambitions.QM strongly hinted at this with Asha fantasizing over Golden Kraken reaver daughters and Knightly Sons.So IF Haenora made certain concessions on behalf of the Blackfyres, Asha would be quite inclined to hear them out. As a truly matrilineal House(albeit not by choice) perfectly suits her own tastes and ambitions practically to the T. However, that would require both parties actually realizing how much they have in common and their mutual ambitions. As truthfully, Asha has far more to gain from it than Jason. As Jason isn't the ambitious sort and is gonna get stuck playing damage control for the foreseeable future thanks to his family. Too bad Jason isn't quite aware of this. He only knows about Asha being a Ironborn reformist but not the rest yet. It is also why she will get along great with Danny, so long as their ambitions do not clash.
>>6433580>I don't think Sandor can handle all that fire, anonYou know, you're probably right. A woman like Haenora would probably drive a guy like Sandor insane. He just doesn't have the fortitude or emotional maturity for it.
>>6433535Nay, Gerion X Haenora is the correct match here. Both are depressed and both are similarly aged. Truly, a match made in the Doom
>>6433589>>6433580Again, I don't think this bitch is emotionally mature enough to handle a political marriage.Convince her to expel her head demon from the Queens guard and then marry him.
>>6433535Sandor has already someone else.>>6433747Really sounds like an extremely bad option.
>>6433756Bad how? As in we get little actionable gain out of it?Because you are correct, we don't.But playing match maker might earn us some good grace. If I thought she could handle marriage for station, I would be all aboard for Uncle Gerion. But I just don't think she can.
>>6433723I wouldn't bet on Gerion. He might love Joy's mother.
>>6433757No I think is bad, because, I don't think suggesting to expel her head of the demon guard, and the guy that is currently calming her down and convinced her not do anything to us, is a good idea. Same guy who also greenlighted sending a demon guard knight to Volantis.I think she needs Balarys. This guy is a voice of reason, leader and experienced.
>>6433761You misunderstand me.The oath of a kingsguard or Queens guard forbids marriage, inheritance and claims to land.I'm assuming these guys have the same restrictions, because they are good restrictions. So if you want to let her marry Balarys, like I do, then he needs to not be a Queensguard. So release him from his vows, expel him from their ranks, and have her marry him without his oaths getting in the way. He's not of noble blood but he IS someone who can balance/reign her in.
Problem with her getting with anyone else is that she CANNOT be known as a Blackfyre publicly. Nearly absolutely NOBODY within Westeros wants anything to do with more Targaryens, especially so close to Bobby's rebellion. So even if we were to get Haenora into Westeros, making any deals with the intent of either bettering ourselves or her by dealing with the other houses would be extremely risky.I think Haenora and Gerion would be the potentially likeliest match that could work, both due to his personality, and his blindness keeping Gerion out of the loop when it comes to her eyes. But I also feel like marrying Haenora to a cripple, and one who already has his Honour tainted would be both an insult to her, and weigh her down for the rest of her life. It also makes her family line a potential rival to us, allowing for another "two family lines both able to claim dragon ownership" situation.Marrying Theon to her...Honestly that is kind of cruel to Theon. While in terms of prestige, it would make his kids the heirs of dragon blood, it would also put that massive target on his back, without any protection as at best, he would be getting harassed about it while under Ned's protection, and at worst being warred on when back on the Iron Islands both by insiders and outsiders wanting to kill his family if it ever got out, and him having NO support network. And Balarys? While likely the best person for her emotionally, it gives her no connection to Westeros. She would effectively have the best chances then to just stay where she is in Essos while raising the next Blackfyres instead of throwing herself back into the Westerosi gauntlet. Which, does not help us, or her really. It does not change her, or her future childrens situation.
I think the best option, both for her and for Jason, would be as follows:After having talked with her again and fully gotten her to understand the situation as the last potential Blackfyre, try to make a deal with her. Ideally, this ideally would be that Jason was to take her as a second wife, specifically a Salt-wife under Ironborn tradition. In accordance, she would join our court, and any children she would have would be under a new house, one which could allude to her past without saying anything. Maybe something like "Black serpents" ?Effectively, we would have our family line remain with Asha in house Lannister(For now), while the secondary house would become blood related but under house Lannister's protection. One could see it, in a way like the relation House Targaryen had with House Velaryon but with a stronger direct line and more direct contractual agreement. This information would DOUBTLESSLY at some point leak. Either intentionally, or not. And when it would, it would both allow for the cover story, of Jason the Dense not being aware of the true nature of Haenora, as well as the potential that she genuinely meant to start over without her family legacy. Which, would both give her house the legitimacy of her bloodline, allowing house (insert name here) to take the same effective role as Blackfyre already did in relation to the nominal house Targaryen. This family has already changed its name once, why not again to save it? If we wanted to jump ship from the Lannister name, we would then have another house that would without a doubt support us, and another family line if Asha's were to die out in the conflict with the Iron Isles we are going to be part of. But before all of that, it would give Lannister legitimacy in the east, as Haenora and her house could become an arm of the Lannister family within Essos due to her "Eastern royal lineage" furthering the Lannister trade fleets size.ALSO it would allow us to rawdog the milf, that is VERY valuable too.
>>6433772Oh. Yeah I forgot about those. Sorry i misunderstood. I agree with this idea
If you think about it, now DILF has a new meaning in this situation Dragon I'd like to fuck
>>6433772Honestly I don't see the relationship between Haenora and Balarys as romantic at all. It seemed much more like they had a adoptive Father and Damaged daughter type of thing going on from the update. I don't really see them marrying and it wouldn't be good for her imo
>>6433788She isn't gonna wanna leave her city state due to how vital it is and firmly entrenched the Blackfyres are there. That city holds THEE secret armoury of the Blackfyres which she is responsible for safekeeping. She is just completely out of the loop of what the Blackfyres are up to and isolated.Theon doesn't know yet that Balon wants him dead and the Ironborn see him as soft turncoat greenlander. Especially now that his sister is a proven Hero and chosen of the Drowned God.Balarys and the Queen's Guard hold themselves to the highest of Knightly honor. That isn't gonna work whatsoever. While Gerion is also a mess who dreads Tywin's interference(correctly). Still the best option from our extremely limited options of who can handle a Dragon Lady. The matchmaking difficulty is truly hellish.>>6433792You are ignoring how Asha will react. She is open to sexual liaisons with other women but gets touchy about more than that. Which she knows is a problem but with Jason being a Greenlander she can delude herself. There is also the fact that Jason isn't enthused with having to deal with more than one woman. He might have inherited his maternal grandfather's sexual stamina but not his lust. Jason already gets taunted for his Dornish mindset. Doesn't yet realise the full implications of how the Ironborn are going to see him from being Drowned in the Smoking Sea and saved by the Drowned God.There is also how the Blackfyres are seen as a joke in Westeros once they heard the Blackfyres lost all their male lines and resorted to matrilineal descent just to survive. As well as the massive political burdens involved with that. While it is true Jason is the most... eccentric Greenlander and nontraditional Westerosi nobleman that doesn't mean its good idea or easy to pull off. Jason has made it very clear how unenthused he is at the idea of handling more than one woman. Asha alone keeps him plenty 'busy' and, being offered a threesome from her, he treated as if it were a dire threat instead. Completely missing the point of the offer or how open Asha is sexually.Asha would need to be the one to push for it and given how Haenora recently pissed her off. That isn't terribly likely. Especially with how protective and possessive Asha is of Jason. Despite her being open to polygamy thanks to Ironborn concubinage, she knows Jason doesn't approve of that, despite being offered threesomes. Most men would thank the Gods for such an 'understanding' wife not treat it as if it were a curse or threat. Asha and Jason's view of sex is pretty much total opposite and while Asha isn't against concubinage, she does seek to reform it in some way. We really only know she doesn't like how Salt born offspring are viewed as much lesser despite being 'legitimate' and not a bastard, as well as her own sexual antics and loathing of ladyship, along with her desires for her own daughters to have similar freedom and power as reavers. Not to mention convincing Haenora alone.
>>6433959Haenora sees herself as a Queen and is already styling herself as matriarchal. Hence, the existence of a Queen's Guard and her having gotten comfortable with rulership. What haunts her is what happened to the Blackfyres and personal rejection due to her mutations. Throw in some hardcore baby rabies to prevent the extinction of her House and her ambitions, it's not a pretty mix. She wants a fitting match and will want monogamy. Compare to that with Asha, who is very much the opposite and has realized how much she has in common with the Dornish mindset. Haenora isn't gonna want to leave her city state, which she has so firmly entrenched herself and her family has sacrificed so much to establish. Much less go into hiding as another noblewoman when she has such ambitions and strong image of her own (delusional) status. The Blackfyres see themselves as the rightful rulers of Westeros.Even IF she gets over her personal issues and heals. It doesn't change the fact that the only ones who take female rulership seriously is Dorne in all of Westeros. Ignoring whatever the hell Asha is definitely planning and up to.l While Jason isn't strictly against that sorta thing given his treatment and relationship with Asha there is a reason she loves him so much. Jason still is well aware of how the rest of Westeros views such things. It would take the return of Dragons breathing fire down everyone's necks to make them reconsider that stance. That is ignoring how is own family is tied up in ruling Westeros. Even with his Valyrian sympathies with how he interacted with the Martells and the undead Dragonlord that adopted him. Not to mention Haenora herself, as he astoundingly doesn't mind the mutations.Jason is eccentric, but he isn't completely clueless...let's just ignore how he doesn't know what Moon Tea is or how miserably Asha failed at seducing him. He is a very special kind of dense with certain matters, which drives her up the fucking wall.I think you would have an easier time convincing Asha to make Haenora Jason's paramour and have Haenora legitimize her offspring. But right now, Asha considers Haenora a threat given her protectiveness over her mate, as she considers him incapable of defending himself properly. Which she even pointed out to his face when they left Westeros and Jason has never done anything to prove otherwise in her view.
>>6433967He's killed slavers and engaged in a riot, he can defend himself.Nor is he retarded.>>6433792you've got the issue of using an Ironborn tradition, when we are a Lannister. It's not a legitimate practice under the faith of the seven, nor is it something Jason would like to do.We can't marry the bitch. Our uncle is the closest possible match from our cohort.>>6433855I mean, you can maybe read that, but she has a father, and wouldn't replace him. the way it's written, I think they might be in their small clothes, but I guess it does just say "without silks or armour"
>>6433967>>6433959I think this whole talk about Jason not accepting a threesome went from "Oh this mf is so doesn't he doesn't noticed her wife is a horny bisexual bitch" to "Jason is 100% AGAINST anything other than FULL HETEROSEXUAL, MONOGAMOUS AND PURE ONE-ON-ONE MARRIAGE, he hates faggots and would DIVORCE HIS WIFE if he found out"He might've said that he barely can keep up with Asha, but I don't fully remember who he told him that. The point is that, he doesn't know if he actually has it, nor hasn't thought about it, he's just an autist with a fixation in wooden blocks and he thinks more about that than about sex. If Asha someday drags him to a brothel with some other girl, and she tells him she wants this, it might be part of their routine, the same it is for the relationship to be the way it is, and just how they finally fucked the first time. If Asha drops more obvious hints about it, MAYBE, Jason will make the same he's been doing since day one: make a plan, and surprise her with doing it (point being, the first time they met and how he didn't pitied her, and how he picked that she hated the Westerosi traditions and decided to play by her rules, like in their wedding day where he showed the boat he design for her)Sorry if I got too autistic about this, but the mental gymnastics about this whole hypothetical "Jason breeds the dragon lady" scenario was driving me nuts.
>>6433788>>6433967>>6433980I feel bad for Haenora and want to help her However, I think a bigger issue is that she has just had a massive mental breakdown after DECADES of waiting. If we try to mention the marriage stuff after she has calmed down, she might just have another manic-episode, or worse, she might suspect that we are trying to pull a 'Tywin moment' and manipulate her while she's vulnerable for our own personal gain (marrying into a priceless armory *is* something that Lann the clever would totally try to pull). The best bet would be to keep things professional for now, and not mention the marriage stuff until a few months from now. By then we can have shown that we intend to genuinely work together via Tyrion and the merchant stuff, and she will also have had time to learn about the political situation of the outside world / gotten caught up on recent history.
>>6434005That is why I'm arguing against it.>>6433980I'm pointing out how Asha sees it. Jason does see the distinction but she doesn't believe it.>>6434011I would rather avoid the dragon lady but dat armoury man...I can see the appeal. Plus Asha is way too much trouble as is. Gods have mercy if Jason adds a fucking wannabe dragon lady queen on top of it. Danny is gonna be bad enough as is to deal with.
>>6434005>"Jason is 100% AGAINST anything other than FULL HETEROSEXUAL, MONOGAMOUS AND PURE ONE-ON-ONE MARRIAGE, he hates faggots and would DIVORCE HIS WIFE if he found out"Holy basedNo wonder The Seven smile upon him

>>6434417>NOOOOOOO!!!!!!!t. valyrian
>>6434414I think it was clarified that it wasn't a dragon egg Although she could probably still identify what kind of monster egg it is for us if we showed it to her; that way at least we'll know what we have on our hands
>>6434495It has to be some kind of dragon or dragon-adjacent creature, right? We found it in an enchanted valyrian vault. Maybe it's a sea dragon's egg?

>>6434539>w-what kind of dogs have you seen in eggs?!
>>6433980...Damn it, I did not really consider the religion of The Seven. Actually missed the forest for the trees :/I think Jason might have become quite a bit more pluralistic in his religious views after meeting a literal demon, one that is not described in the religion of the seven. If he ever learns of the cult of the death god, then I think he would be able to make the connection. But indeed the political optics once home would not be ideal.>>6433959>>6433967>>6434014I think as some others have stated that Jason is not Monogamous only, as much as he is just autistic in the hyper-fixation way because of the way player characterization works. He is just dense and fixates on whatever we choose him to find most important at the moment. So, if we collectively agree, it also shows itself in Jason's personality. Just like the journey to Valyria was WAY out of usual character before our choice. While Asha will probably feel conflicted, I feel she would understand it if Jason had something with Haenora due to political reasons. The woman is old, She will grow frail while Asha and Jason will be in their primes and live out their lives together. She is not a romantic rival. Also, even if the Blackfyre name is in shambles, it still has the Golden Company. In a way, this possible integration of the Blackfyres back into Westeros could both bolster Lannister forces, and give the Golden Company a place for members to settle down. Also, I think the idea that Haenora wants to stay in Mantarys is not really the case. The city holds no real trade, no great resources to make use of, and the population is unable to socialize with any neighbours due to their "cursed" nature living next to Valyria. The city also holds no security other than which can be taken by and kept with physical force. Genuinely, if we offer a keep in Westeros her house and people could move into, I imagine Haenora would jump for joy. "Going home" to Westeros has been an old dream the Blackfyres have longed for for much longer than the current Targeryean outcasts, and would give her family an opportunity to trade with the outside world. Making a deal with her which gives a foothold and a legitimate political position in Westeros would be a massive win for her, because by this point her family line, and herself, are used to constant failure. So even a partial success (since her family has always been ride or die with total conquest) is better than the "shits fucked" she is in currently. >>6434011Fair points, I definitely think that whatever we do from now on, trying to just be honest and open is the best thing we could do for now. After she has calmed down, the fact we did not lie will help immensely. Since no matter if we do get....close and personal or not, we are still a potential political ally for her and what is left over of the Blackfyre household. One she would likely recognize is a boon greater than any weapon.
>>6435758>I think Jason might have become quite a bit more pluralistic in his religious views after meeting a literal demon, one that is not described in the religion of the seven.Stranger, who's domain is death and who's presence kills you. It's really not that big a stretch, nor does the existence of other religions invalidate his own. The old gods exist, after all, as does the drowned, neither of which acknowledge the others.
>>6435758>Genuinely, if we offer a keep in Westeros her house and people could move into, I imagine Haenora would jump for joy.I'm sorry anon, but that's like giving a handful of chocolate to a puppy because they're yummy, and I'm talking about the ones that don't lay eggs. It's the same thing some anons talked about bringing Haenoras guard's and the cultural/idealistic shock they get when they arrive to Westeros. Honor is barely holding on, and it will be dead with Ned Stark, but maybe it will happen sooner if we do your plan.Tywin could pull a Red Castle and just kill Haenora and their mutant people, because he will gain the "honor" to "kill a Blackfyre terrorist" and "stop Jason's insurgency before it grew out of control". We might be the heir and not be deformed, but Tywin was still going to kill Tyrion because he was a pain in the ass and make things simpler. The best we can do is to offer trade and assistance for her to make some actual change in Mantarys, and maybe send some letters to the Golden Company and make them link up. It sounds more interesting if we can make it happen, and then gain a huge boon for Jason for the gigantic miracle that is securing a huge vault of VS for the Blackfyre that are active in the "normal world", a huge leg up for Jason and Asha to distance themselves, and maybe bring the Golden Company when the Kingsmoot happens and Huron thinks he can actually do something.
>>6435803>We might be the heir and not be deformed, but Tywin was still going to kill Tyrion because he was a pain in the ass and make things simpler. There is no way that Tywin would kill Jason; he's too valuable.Doubly so if Jason doesn't have any children yet.Once Jason has like 5 kids, then he will become slightly less crucial. Even then, if he comes back as a hero who survived The Doom, that's a ton of value to the "family name" that Tywin is obsessed over.At worst, if Jason REALLY pissed off his dad, Tywin would just have him locked under house arrest aside from important public events. However, that's the worst he could do to Jason. Tywin is far more likely to threaten and harm people Jason cares about in order to keep him in line; Data, Sarella, Tysha and others are all at risk if Jason becomes too much of a pain in the ass. That said, Tyrion is kind of an exception considering how much Tywin hates him specifically. His other children get a surprising amount of leeway considering the bullshit they pull. Even if he doesn't love them, he takes his role as a father very seriously and does what he can to protect their image or fix their mistakes.
>go away from thread after long time without updates>finally come back>
>>6436093Dead quest
>>6436097There have been bigger breaks, but the level of discussion devolving to the level of "bisexual wife threesome polyamory harem monogamy" talk is not a good sign.
>>6436102We reached the point where not only anons don't know what else to talk about while waiting for updates, but also about things to complain about
>>6436097>>6436102>>6436198It's fine, we just got to be patient. We'll know its fucked when the incest goblins that have killed 90% of the other ASOIAF quests start squatting in the thread. There's really no need for there to be constant discussion, anyways
>>6436201>We'll know its fucked when the incest goblins that have killed 90% of the other ASOIAF quests start squatting in the thread. That shit didn't kill most of the ASOIAF quests.
>>6436205It killed most of the recent ones, I should've said that. Bastard of westeros, for example.
>>6436208Myrcella too, noped out at the post where she was perving on Tommen and taking notes in her diary
>>6436211Honestly, our QM had incredible foresight making it clear Jason would never harbor any Jaime esc feelings towards Cersei early on. Because Lannister based quests seem to especially attract those sorts
>>6436208>Bastard of westerosGo back and read the last thread, what killed that was the consistent shitflinging between players and at the QM not the specific incest plotline.
>>6436198>>6436102There is no longer anything productive to talk about; instead is why. We already covered the negotiation terms with this Blackfyre branch, which took awhile. Stuff for Westeros was covered in the first thread. We don't know what exactly Tyrion has built so we cannot provide input on that. Asha is still holding some cards close to the chest on what she is plotting but this is understandable considering she plans to murder her father in law and her own relatives. We don't know what Littlefinger and Spider are plotting. So on and so forth. What else is there to discuss? No seriously. Anons at this point are grasping at straws because we already covered so much of it. Canal project in Westeros for the ironborn and profit? Check. Visiting vast buildings? Check. Negotiation terms? Covered. What else even is there? Anons even agreed that with personal experience from Valyria, Jason is gonna treat the North as a top priority with the Others and wights, which every other great lord ignored. Anons already plotted kidnapping the two good Lannister bastards and leaving Cersei and the eldest to die cause fuck King's Landing. That place is an accursed deathtrap.Of course some brainstorming about what Asha will do but we don't even know what her full plans and plots are. We only got a lucky break when anons tricked her and Oberyn into hanging out instead which let us know what was going on with her.
>>6436229Anon, respectfully, there are a dozen other quests going with no discussion like this going on, all just as rich and layered with their plot. A few significantly more so, actually. It's ok to not have discourse on the daily, but if you are in the mood, I'd really recommend you take the energy to some of those other quests. Anyone posting in this thread ought to, honestly. The breaks between updates are very long, and if just half of the time spent deliberating on things that are many, many, many updates away, meaning like a year or two IRL at this pace, could be better spent on other active games. Would significantly improve the health of the board.
>>6436259Why the fuck are you assuming I only do this quest? I'm just pointing out that anons were running out of stuff to discuss. As for quest activity and discussion complain in quest thread general about it. A lot of anons despise any kind of discussion that isn't the QM. Frankly, I don't care much since the quest style I prefer is long dead anyhow.
>>6436278>Why the fuck are you assuming I only do this quest?I just said that if anons want to gab, and there's nothing else to talk about here, they (or you) can take that impulse to another thread in the meantime.
Yeah, update for everyone so people are informed.Still alive, and the month of June where both everything was happening and whatever funk I was feeling is over.I plan to try and get a post out at in the next couple days, hopefully tomorrow, and will be focusing on getting us through the Mantarys Arc so we can get back to Westeros. This arc either started at a bad time for me or something tripped me up, but I appreciate everyone’s patience and have been loving the discussion. To clarify something that occurred earlier, Asha was not offering to invite that summer islander woman into a threesome with Jason and her. She was trying to make Jason aware that she noticed him staring, and Jason misinterpreted that as the above, which annoyed her but Jason managed to make up for it with the time he spent with her in the summer islands.
Jason wouldn't know this without metagaming, but if Heanora gets married and has babies ASAP, then during the War of the Five Kings she could offer the support of Mantarys and the armory to the claimant of her choosing in exchange for a promise that one of her children will eventually marry the heirs to the throne. On top of boosting military strength, it also might provide some legitimacy to the pretenders who don't have as strong of a claim. What do you guys think?>>6436336Welcome back QM!We missed you
>>6436336Welcome back and not nearly as funny as the previous misunderstanding. Oh well at least we can look forward to Jason giving Brienne the first sincere compliment regarding her femininity in her entire life. That is gonna be a funny interaction.>>6437899Might be something Asha will think of. Jason will likely be torn between damage control thanks to his incestuous siblings and dealing with the North and its Others and wights at that time to consider it. As thanks to Valyria and the QM confirmed he will take the tidings seriously from the Night Watch. The biggest problem with Haenora is finding someone who can stomach her mutations and knock her up ASAP. That is a very...very short list of viable suitors indeed.
>>6435803...Very fair points. Casterly rock is definitely not a place of honour, neither now or in the future. >>6437899 Seems to be the best idea overall, at least for now. And either way, the possibility of a new trade network to bring profits for house Lannister would definitely help. With a higher income, more of the crowns expenses could be laid on house Lannister instead of the iron bank.By the way, since there is a chance that we might have dragons-blood now, might it be worth touring the ancient dragon sites on the way home to Lannisport? One could go explore the Dragonmont of Dragonstone to see if there might be any eggs left over in the secretive paths inside. Maybe even go and visit Summerhall to see if one might be able to dig up one of the eggs left after Egg's attempt at hatching them? Even if we cannot hatch them ourselves, they would likely be useful in future negotiations with Blackfyres and are just a cool status symbol.
Hey wait a second...Doesn't Samwell Tarly's dad pay warlocks to visit and use magic that will make his son become brave? If that hasn't already happened yet, then maybe Jason should make use of the opportunity when they're in the area.If we haven't managed to open the lock on the book by that point, then we could quietly invite them to stay at Casterly Rock while incognito, and study the magic on the lock. If they manage to help us open it, we can reward them with gold and also offer to share some of the secrets within.
>>6438907We are NOT telling a bunch of "warlocks" (conmen) about our secret ultra rare, highly valuable, mint condition valyrian grimoire, let alone allowing them to get anywhere near it. Even if they weren't fraudsters (they definitely are), why would we invite total strangers to take a look at our magic book instead of going to Marwyn or Malora?
>>6438915Well we can do both in case Malora/Leyton and Marwyn can't unlock it.The other reason is that last thread there was one anon who hated the idea of sharing the book. I imagine that it was because it'd be dangerous for someone else in Westeros to have that knowledge; but if it's some warlocks from halfway across Essos, then there won't be any local consequences for us to worry about.
>>6438907>>6438919and why are you trying to ruin our comprehension of the maddening and divine? We will learn at our own pace and be better for it.Also these cunts will try to steal it.
>>6438919>but if it's some warlocks from halfway across Essos, then there won't be any local consequences for us to worry about.>meanwhile, the warlocks chatting up some heads of state about a magic book so they'll send thieves and assassins to nab it so they can get it back into essosOne must never underestimate greed, my friend. Loose lips sink ships. And I surely wouldn't trust some two-bit, chicken-blood-slinging, nondescript-chanting, incense-burning, feng-shui-claiming, star-interpreting, pointy-hood-wearing, hashish-smoking, copper-clipping, fast-talking, slow-walking, branch-shaking, slipper-wearing, snake-oil-selling, unwashed hooligans from across the sea any more than I would trust the average cutpurse in Flea Bottom.
>>6437899Nah, secrecy is best for Mantarys.
>>6438926Uh, my dude, did you, perchance, hire these warlocks for a service at some point in the past? And find them unsatisfying, Mister Tarley?
>>6439089I am inclined to agree with the anon above when it comes to talking to the warlocks. They are nothing but junkie charlatans that have next to no power up until the dragons are borne, and after they are born they show that they are nothing but untrustworthy imbeciles by locking up Dany and her dragons Seriously, how stupid do you have to be to do that if you are a damn order of maegi and know the power of dragons yet think you have what it takes to chain them and their mother up without taking any precautions towards dragonflame, the one thing dragons are known for. If they found out about our book we will never stop having them as a constant thorn at our side. Not to mention they probably wont be any help whatsoever since they are a bunch how old decrepit hacks and their only real achievement is having the worst kind of immortality planetos has to offerAlso Euron Greyjoy is most likely in their order currently, and i CERTAINLY don't want him to get any ideas.
One of the easiest ways to potentially get shitters off of our backs, might be to make copies of the book and release them, or as close to a copy one can make without the magic. Even if i am not happy about the idea of loosing exclusivity, as long as we dont add in possible "murderfest 3000" spells to a public release, then it would take the inevitable heat off of our backs and still give us the reputation boost of saving that knowledge from The Doom.
>>6439177I would vote against that. Malora and Marwyn I am fine with sharing since we know them, but anyone else? Let them sail into Valyria themselves if they wish to have such knowledge. Sharing with Malora and Marwyn will also help Samwell Tarly learn it when he gets to the Citadel on Jon's orders, and beyond those people I see no reason to share that grimoire any further.
>>6439182>inb4 malora is "the mad" because she is gonna wind up siding with euron in the future and it was foreshadowing the entire timewwwoOoOoooOooo spoOoOoooKkyyyyYyyY
Question about Ned.When Joffery ordered to have Ned executed, do you think Joffery would have allowed a trial by combat if Ned had immediately demanded one?Ned agreed to "confess" in order to protect his daughters under the assumption that he would be forced to take The Black. Once that went out the window, he didn't have much reason to not try and buy more time for himself. The other reason that nobody tried to do much to help him was because they hadn't expected Joffery's sudden change of heart, and thus has no time to do anything. An extra few hours, and perhaps someone could have secretly set him free. What do you guys think?
>>6439287He would have been denied, because he already professed guilt.Trial by combat is to determine guilt.
>>6439288He couldn't have asked for a trial by combat prior to the confession, could he?Sansa and Arya being hostage was the problem. If Jason is even at Kings Landing when all the shit goes down, I guess the only way we could change things is if we try to secretly help the two Stark girls leave
>>6439326If he doesn't profess guilt, his daughter Sansa would be killed in an "accident".Nor would trial by combat be a terribly good idea, since all his household has been killed and he's been maimed, leaving him without champion.Anyway, we wouldn't be interfering in the Stark coup in KL if we were present. Nothing we do there would abort what was already planned, unless you wanted to draw swords with Ser Iyln Payne. His death was not part of the lannister plot.
>>6439326Unfortunately Ned signed his death warrant the moment he stepped foot in Kings Landing. His death is just the perfect domino that would make the war of the five kings inevitable, and there are many who stand to gain a lot from such instability. I would like to help the Stark girls at least if Jason ends up being in the city come the time of the plot, but truth be told I think it isn't likely Jason will be there in KL when we have the Iron Islands we need to consolidate under Asha's rule and finally make the Ironborn into a functional society. Which will be difficult because Balon is a MORON but at least they have the Harlaws who are quite the civilised people even according to greenlander standards. They will be our natural allies there to counteract the rest of the old way stupidity. Anyways, I hope we skip the numerous dishonourable acts done under the Lannister banner by simply not being there at all. I wish to stay as far away from the pillaging of the riverlands as possible. And by then we should probably build a proffesional standing army that is not dependent on the minor feudal lords calling their banners but directly loyal to Jason himself. With the prestige from Valyria we might be able to do that without Tywin gutting that project to placate his bannermen like he did with the seawall.
