The pink petals fall from their tree onto the soft grass below. The Earth continues to empty its reserves as the dying days of summer slip away.

You shiver for a moment as the wind blows past, sending an uncomfortable chill through your body.

"It's been getting colder lately..." you say to yourself.

It feels like so much time has passed, but it truly wasn't that long ago that you received that letter in the mail.

TATAKE COLLEGE!

The headline was printed in bold.

That's right. Since moving to this more urban part of Japan, you've had to transfer from your old school. You've heard this one has quite the reputation. It's renowned for hosting martial arts tournaments and boasts a massive sports budget.

You let out a sigh. "It's so different compared to back in the countryside..." you mutter.

Well, maybe you'll somehow get by, after all...

>I come from a powerful clan with a strong ninja bloodline
Gain the bloodline ability 'DUPLICATE JUTSU' allowing you to make combat clones of yourself

>I'm one of the most skilled students back home in my local dojo
Start out immediately with 'Expert' grade mastery in a martial art determined by the dice

>I have such a high intellect that I'm capable of incredible mental feats
You're currently a Novice grade at using ESP abilities

>I'm nice to the eyes, I also happened to share the very significant endowments my parents have
Every combat turn you gain the 'Talk Down' ability. A lot of people say this is an asspull but no matter the point in combat, you always believe you can talk and relate to your opponents struggles
You gain the large endowment of your parents

You look down at the concrete sidewalk and smirk. Your glasses catch the sunlight, reflecting it back into the eyes of anyone who dares to stare. You've always been one of the smartest people in the room. Not only do you have no trouble climbing the leaderboards online or excelling at school, but you're also capable of a few minor ESP abilities.

The wisdom your late father passed down comes to mind. Vivid flashbacks of sitting in his study resurface as he captivated you with his passion for learning.

"That's my boy. Now try this textbook for a little while," his distant voice echoes in your memory.

Eventually, you discovered that he had been a highly skilled ESP warrior. While he was still alive, he trained you in his techniques for a time. Thanks to your father, your archery skills are nothing to scoff at either. You remember the first time he taught you how to summon your bow—the first time it materialized before you. Its pristine white sheen and lack of color fascinated you.

You also remember him trying to teach you how to create an arrow without relying on an existing one. It was a grueling process, and you never quite managed to master it. The ability to conjure an arrow from the energy around you... if only your ESP were a little stronger!

Frustrated, you kick a nearby rock as you continue your walk to school.

The area surrounding your school is one sprawling residential district. A few unique homes stand out from the rest. Some look as though they're in desperate need of repair, while most are fairly cookie-cutter.

As you approach the intersection across the street from the school, you spot two people. One of them appears to be struggling.

"Quit it, Takeda!" the young man cries out.

A very scrawny-looking boy with swirly glasses is getting a knuckle sandwich from a guy named Takeda. The bully's impressive physique is on full display as his powerful bicep cuts off much of the boy's airflow, the pressure on his throat making it difficult for him to breathe.

Takeda notices you watching. He stares at you for a moment before giving you a thumbs-up with the same hand delivering the knuckle part of the sandwich, as if assuming you're on board with what he's doing.

>Leave that guy alone!

>Yeah, get that nerd!

>Just move on, encouraging neither side

We might be super smart but that doesn't mean we are also a lame nerd.

Let's not take center stage before we know what we're dealing with at this school.

>Leave that guy alone!
How dare this Takeda guy assume what we're doing. Our intellect is incalculable. How can a worm like him hope to discern meaning or understanding from our ocean of intelligence?

Also we need pals and this nerd might know a thing or two

This. Watching someone else get beaten up while we watch from the sidelines is how we begin our arc. Next time, we'll step in!

>Just move on, encouraging neither side

The scrawny, nerdy man becomes enraged. "Takeda! If you don't let me go—HNACK!" He chokes as the bully tightens his grip around his scrawny throat.

A couple of other delinquents egg him on, a full display of testosterone-fueled showmanship. A tanned student with blonde hair nearly folds at the sight.

"Takeda-san~ He's so... strong," she fumbles, struggling to find the words.

However, you, on the other hand, just shrug. Unbelieving that this matter concerns you, you truly don't give a fuck. It's the first day of college! Is there really already stuff like this happening? Pathetic.

The sight of their display slowly simmers a rage within you, never quite reaching its boiling point, but becoming more refined. You'll be damned if something similar happens to you. You can feel it stirring a sense of conviction within you.

Well, with that being said, you make it to Tatake College! Its plain brick exterior is definitely not much to behold; the true marvel is vast and found in the back. You begin walking toward what you can make out to be a massive dash track, and it's only upon getting closer that you see a stadium set up with a ring at the center of it all. There's no doubt that this is the area where these supposed tournaments are held.

"Oooh~! Ren-kun, you're growing up to be so handsome," your auntie tells you.

She's a somewhat older woman, her very long black hair cascading down her back and following her with every movement and expression she makes. She goes in to hug you, and her soft body nearly envelops your much smaller frame.

Your petite form is slowly developing into the man who will become Ren Kisoshi.

Beside you is your father, Yuito Kisoshi. The practical applications of his work are reflected in his physique, impressively built through his honing of archery and daily toil alike.

"It's because he takes after his old man," he jibes at your aunt. She blushes and playfully punches your dad in the shoulder.

"Ren is a smart boy for his age," your father starts. "Go on, Ren. Tell your auntie something you loved learning about," he asks you.

Your brain racks itself for a moment. What's something you've discovered a passion for?

>Bioscience, being able to form body parts into different things or utilizing the utmost of your musculature is amazing!

>Engineering, there'll never be a handyman problem you can't solve! Sometimes when you really focus on an object, you can transmute it into being harder, sharper, and even adjust their weight.

>Psychology, you have a passion for the human mind. Lately you've been able to stimulate hypnosis over small creatures, you keep this practice a secret though. You feel like if you kept pushing it, you could work towards people!

The most recent book, handed down to you by your father. This book reminds you of some of the main characters from the different manga you're allowed to read periodically.

You show it to your aunt. "Oh my... you're so smart, Ren!" she says as she flips through the pages.

Even at your young age, it's obvious she doesn't have a clue what any of the book is even trying to teach through its text. You've always been ahead of the curve in that sense. There's a sense of fortune that comes with those who dominate intellectually.

Your body slowly takes on a glistening metallic form!

Hardening one's own body density through sheer will and know-how brings its own rewards. It's one of the first, and so far only, things you've managed to learn within this realm of science.

The surprise is apparent on your auntie's face when she sees you shift before her in such a smooth transition. Your dad has a beaming smile on his face, the pride in him swelling within his chest.

"That's my boy," your father tells you, lightly grabbing your shoulder.

His smile... it's so easy to remember, even to this day.

PRESENT DAY

Somewhere within you, a challenge wells up in your heart. The contagious heat of pushing yourself pervades your mind whenever you look at the arena at the back of the school.

Your fists clench, your hardened form developing with masterful speed, not even challenging your specialized skill in ESP with this science.

"I miss you so much, Dad," you let out in a soft whisper, struggling not to cry as you remember the man who helped make you who you are.

Somewhere within your being, a vow rises from your heart...

>I promise I'll become the next champion for you..

>I swear to avenge you, no matter what it takes

>I'm going to inflict pain in this world, just like it had forced the same on me
