You live in a church carved into the roots of the western mountains, where jagged peaks rise like the teeth of a dragon. Beyond those mountains lies the Wasteland, a harsh and endless steppe of yellow grass beneath a gray sky. No laws rule that land. Only monsters, savage tribes of orcs, and endless cycles of raids, blood feuds, and slaughter. The god you worship is Glax, the orc god of hatred and cannibalism. At the youngest age, you were chosen as an antipaladin candidate. Nineteen other orcs were chosen alongside you, but you alone survived. The others, you killed and devoured, violating the one true taboo of orc society: the eating of orc flesh. In your world, there is only darkness. The shamans are gathered in the great hall, a cold chamber of rough stone carved deep into the mountain. You kneel before the Great Shaman, an old orc whose magic is mighty, and whose wisdom is spoken of with reverence."Azdakh bears the Hand That Rots. Azdakh has been chosen by Glax."The Rotting Touch, your antipaladin gift. Once each day, by channeling your pure hatred, you can make living flesh decay, even perish. The power awakened on its own after you slew the last of the remaining candidates. The shaman presents you with a blade, a massive two-handed sword, broad and heavy, its hilt adorned with a skull. It is the mark of your station as an antipaladin. The other orcs will scorn you, or fear you. Yet when war comes, you will lead them as their general. For antipaladins are despised, chosen not for brute strength, but for cunning and cruelty, while orcs honor raw strength above all else. Antipaladins are feared because they wield dark magic that raises them above ordinary warriors, though few understand the source of its power. Then comes a suit of black steel armor. From this day onward, wherever you walk, you will wear it. Always armored. Always ready for battle. You don the armor, and the Great Shaman uncorks a vial of blood, pouring it over the black steel."This armor is baptized in blood. May it forever be drenched in the blood of our enemies."The shamans begin their chant. You have little patience for their rituals. If you possessed the strength, you would butcher them where they stand. But their magic still surpasses yours, for now. Rage stirs within you."Glax," you growl.

>Skills: Intimidation, Leadership, Knowledge (Religion)>Spells: Heal, Terror, Enslave, DarknessThe Great Shaman leads you through winding corridors toward the prison. The passage twists and turns like a maze, descending ever deeper beneath the mountain. This is a part of the church you have never been permitted to enter before, and as you walk, you wonder how far the church stretches into the darkness below."Before your departure into the world, we have prepared a gift for you.""Ah! What is it?" you ask."An elven bitch. We captured her two moons ago. She and her companions attempted to infiltrate our church and steal what belongs to Glax. Fools. We killed them all and spared only her."An elf. Orcs and elves have been mortal enemies since antidiluvian times. Where orcs are ugly, elves are beautiful; where orcs are brutish, elves are refined. In all things, the two races stand opposed. Few elves would ever dare venture into orc territory. Such prey is rare, and the shaman has bestowed a valuable gift upon you.The pale creature before you is frail, her skin so delicate it seems it would bruise beneath your rough hands. Her hair falls like silver, and her pointed ears mark her as one of the "fair folk". Her robes are torn and stained from captivity, yet even filthy, chained, and imprisoned, she possesses a cold beauty. It stirs your hatred, and something darker besides. The shaman spoke truly. This is a rare prize indeed, a fragment of the enemy's perfection, delivered into your hands to defile or destroy. She appears slightly dehydrated, but otherwise healthy. The other orcs have not mistreated her. She lifts her chin and meets your gaze with open defiance. What do you do with her?>Interrogate her>Torture her>Eat her>Write-in

For the first time in your life, you cast the Enslave spell. At last, you have found worthy prey. You engraved the spell's mantra deep into your memory long ago, and now the words spill from your lips without hesitation. The magic of the Black Speech churns through your mind, gathering ancient power. After several minutes, an ethereal collar appears around her neck and slowly sinks into her flesh. The spell is complete. From this moment onward, the elf is bound to obey your every command. From your studies, you know the spell has a few limitations. First, if you give an impossible command, the slave dies. Second, if you give two contradictory commands, the slave dies. Third, if a command utterly terrifies the slave or violates the deepest boundaries of their mind, they may die as well. The third limitation is the most irritating, but such are the laws that govern the spell. Aside from these restrictions, its commands are absolute. Even demons and angels are bound by such magic."Speak. What is your name?" you ask in the Common Speech."My name is Lómenluin.""I bet you feel stupid now, huh?""I don't," she replies. "The reward for succeeding in the mission outweighed the risk.""Aren't you afraid of what I'm going to do?""I am not. You may hurt me or violate my flesh, but you will never breach the walls of the fortress of my mind."From your studies of foreign religions, you recognize her beliefs. She follows the Iron Path, a philosophy that teaches its disciples to forge an iron fortress within the mind, mastering every thought and every passion. Even trying to grasp such ideas leaves you confused. The concepts feel alien to an orc's nature."And what is your profession?""I'm a librarian and an enchantress. I spend my days studying ancient texts or meditating. The reward I was promised for stealing the Eye of Glax was a collection of powerful magical scrolls.""Fool!" you say. "The Eye of Glax is priceless. The power it holds cannot be measured."For all her learning and discipline, the elf seems to possess less common sense than an orc cub. Frail as she is, venturing into the heart of orc territory to infiltrate one of its greatest churches was nothing less than suicide. What will you do?>Defile her, to test the limits of her mental fortress>Steal magical scrolls from the Great Shaman's private chambers, as a gift to your new slave>Make preparations for your departure>Write-in
>>6447795>Make preparations for your departureIf we defile her, she may just die.
>>6447795>Make preparations for your departureWe can test the limits of our spell on lesser thralls. Stealing from the shaman without stealth spells seems unwise. If we were to do as such, why not go the whole way and just kill him? Or at least steal the Eye of Glax to try and double dip with a scheme to get the reward the elf was promised.

>Rage Meter: 05%You leave the prison, the elf following five meters behind you, barefoot. She will need boots if she is to travel with you, but you doubt anything in the church would fit her slight frame. The Great Shaman has sent you to Master Tarfu, the weaponmaster, to collect your travel supplies. Tarfu was the one who trained you to fight. A broad-shouldered veteran whose flesh bears the marks of countless campaigns. He oversees the church's armory and the warriors who guard its inner halls."What do you want, weakling?""I've come for my supplies."Master Tarfu despises you. He always saw you as frail, unworthy of becoming an antipaladin. His favorite was Azzof, the strongest and most brutish of the candidates. Azzof was the first you killed. You got him drunk, then hacked off his arms before finishing him. Though the kill had been fair, Master Tarfu whipped you for it, leaving deep scars across your cheeks."Huh. Supplies? I can't believe I have to waste them on a weakling like you."You cross your arms. "My supplies."Grunting, he disappears into the back room before returning. He tosses you a waterskin and a healing potion, both of which you catch."That's all I can spare," he says. "Now get out."You are certain more was prepared for you. At the very least, a backpack and rations. The weaponmaster is withholding them out of spite. He is an immensely powerful warrior, one you have never dared challenge. Even now, you are not certain you could bring him down. But behind you, the elf watches in silence as you are humiliated. Your blood begins to boil. What will you do? >Leave. >Rage Meter: 00%>Rolled: 81 [Triple success]You feel your rage surge, nearly impossible to contain."Enough!" you thunder, your voice ringing with terrifying, unholy power. "I am not the weak cub you once knew. You will show the respect due to my station."As the antipaladin, you now stand second in the Church of Glax, beneath only the Great Shaman. Every soldier, including the weaponmaster, is bound to obey your commands. Master Tarfu takes an uneasy step back. He has felt your anger, and the dark power that lies behind it."My apologies, Lord Azdakh," he says. "Follow me. I will show you the supplies prepared for your journey."Seeing his submissive demeanor, your rage quickly subsides. It took only a single threat to remind him of his place. The back room is a cramped stone storeroom, its walls lined with shelves stacked high with packs, ropes, dried provisions, and crates of equipment awaiting the church's warriors. The weaponmaster hands you a sturdy leather backpack. You open it and inspect its contents. Inside are a waterskin, enough rations for one week, a fifteen-meter rope, a vial of antivenom, and a vial of antitoxin. These are the supplies the Great Shaman had ordered prepared for you."Do you still have the prisoner's equipment?" you ask."Some of it," the orc replies. "The Great Shaman claimed the potions and valuables, but we kept the ordinary gear. It's all in this crate.""Look through it," you order the elf.Lómenluin kneels before the crate and begins sorting through its contents. She retrieves a pair of leather boots, a robe, a cloak, a leather backpack, a spellbook, and a crossbow. She slips on the boots, then packs the remaining items into her backpack."Anything missing?" you ask."I've recovered most of my belongings," she replies. "Only my enchanted bracers and my potions are missing.""Will that be all, my lord?" the orc asks.>Write-in(You may request a few common items. If the items are uncommon or unusual, I will veto them.)
