Humankind has finally begun its eminence over the world.

The nations are thriving, populations are booming, and the peoples of the surface have finally been granted the freedom and comfort to pursue finer pursuits like music, art, and crafting of frivolous things like toys and trinkets. At day, the Lights Above protect the world as they always have, and, even at night, their illumination is now harnessed to protect the settlements of man from the abyssal hordes. This peace, however, has been thrown into doubt.

Something is brewing beneath earth, out of the sight of the Lights Above. Cultists worshipping the Core and its false gods have been exploding in population, more and more Magecorps being corrupted to their cause. Monster activity has heightened, and the rate of their mutation has increased. Worse than all of this, evidence suggesting collaboration between monsters and abysskin, as well as the intentional mutations of monsters into increasingly more dangerous threats.

You, for better or for worse, are on the frontlines of this developing battlefield. Your party, the Dawnseekers is a relatively new Corps from a relatively new guild. Serving under the Dawnstone, your merry band of Spelldivers, for their own personal reasons, have opted to risk their lives to combat the Core's darkness. You, regardless of motive, are humanity's first line of defense.

I will wait THREE MORE HOURS for final purchasing votes.

Also, to answer Aliciel's question, Philtreliquors cannot be used on other players unless specifically stated otherwise. Some will have this as a proviso, but the four ones you have now do not.

BALANCE: 1069 CORESHARDS
Smitesalve: 11 [80 Coreshards]
Melee Support Box: 10 [300 Coreshards]
Bolturbine: 8 [100 Coreshards]
Syncope: 8 [90 Coreshards]
Subtotal: 499 Coreshards
Kudryavka’s Sensational Spellpicks 8 [384/850 > 850/850]
33 coreshards BANKED

SPELLPICKS

>Longlooter [Allows you to scavenge or mine from up to two tiles away]
“Have you ever seen a shiny piece of loot and thought it was just a biiiit too far away? With this handy device, it’ll be a cinch to pick up shinies without breaking formation and getting yourself killed!”

>Skullbuster [You may use an action, spellcasting or otherwise, to make an attack against an enemy with the following stats: [2d5+3, Range: Melee, DMG: 6; if you kill an enemy with this attack, you may immediately loot that enemy]]
“Ever caught with your rifle unloaded or with your pants down after casting a particularly taxing spell? If you have, you’ll know how nice it is to have a plan B!”

>Quickpick [You may use a MOV action instead of a main action to scavenge or mine]
“Get rich quick scheme. Nah, just kidding, your missions still take just as long— but with this bad boy, you can make sure to pocket some coreshards between kills!”

MELEE SUPPORT BOX

>Magemaile <Dinadan> [HP: 13, MOV: 3, DC: 9; Runespace: 5, 4, 3; ACC +2, PWR: +3; consumes both your Hieroshield and Focus slot. Each spell must use its specific allotted runespace. Incompatible with ranged form sigils. You may expend your MOV action OR your main action to perform a Shoulder Dash, moving 4 tiles in one of the 10 spell trajectories and automatically targeting enemies in your way with an offensive spell you possess, moving them out of your trajectory and continuing your forward movement upon successful hit. After reaching the end of this movement or being stopped by an obstacle or enemy, you must cast the offensive spell you Dashed with. This dash may not use Quickstep stacks. You may only do a cast without dashing using your main action, not your MOV action. No two spells on this focus may have the same Effect sigil. You may not cast the same spell, dashing or otherwise, twice in one turn using this focus’s unique ability.]
Born from the desire to do everything one can to help the war effort even at the expense of personal glory, this magemaile allows the caster a wide array of options for any situation.

>Spellsword <Nightwatcher> [Runespace: 8,4; spells crafted using the 8 Runespace may only target enemies, while spells using the 4 may only target allies. Gain an additional +1 PWR on the 4 Runespace spell. You may use both one offensive and one defensive spell in a single round at the expense of your movement and casting action. +1 PWR, +3 ACC, +1 MOV; incompatible with ranged form sigils.]
A paired sword and dueling cape, fashioned from the corpse of a single monster. Sacrifices the defensive potency and balanced runeweight of the Stargazer for a greater focus on mobility and offense.
>>
>>6453527
>Reflectrample [ELEMENT: CRYSTAL] [Runespace: 3; When you cast this spell, make a separate targeting roll against any enemy within your melee range using this spell's typical ACC roll, regardless of whether your focus or this spell is usually capable of targeting at melee range. If successful, record the direct targeted damage dealt by one of that enemy's offensive abilities, up to a maximum of this spell's PWR. Then, cast this spell as dictated by its form and make its main targeting roll as usual, dealing non pwr damage to successfully targeted enemies equal to the damage value recorded by this sigil]
This spell disperses a cloud of deceptively sharp reflective crystals around the caster, creating an illusory copy of a foe with brutally real offensive potency.

>Shortcutter [Runespace: 2, ACC: +2, PWR: +1; exclusive to Melee form sigils.]
Coats the edge of the spell focus with razor sharp, rapidly circulating mana, increasing precision and power in melee spells while causing ranged ones to fizzle and fail.

FOCI

>Sacrescepter <Crimson Star's Cruelty> [Runespace: 16; whenever you cast a spell with this focus, roll 2d3, gaining that many Folly stacks. You may now have up to 17 folly stacks instead of 13. Whenever you remove folly stacks, you must instead consume a MOV action, and may request Retribution, Protection, or Compensation. Retribution creates a projectile with 2 base damage, 3 base range, and 3d3 base accuracy, with each folly stack spent granting 2 bonus DMG, 1 bonus range, and 1 bonus ACC. Protection grants barrier (NOT additional barrier) equal to the folly stacks removed. Compensation simply stores the Folly removed as Compensation stacks, allowing you to roll a free coreshard deposit upon reaching 13 stacks (then removing all compensation stacks). If the spell you cast does not have "Crimson Star" in the name of one of its sigils, roll an additional 1d3 Folly stacks]
A ceremonial staff used in the worship of the Crimson Star, an ancient deity who, despite her title, is not amongst the Lights Above. As tempestuous as she is sadistic, her worship can grant boon and bane alike.

>Automantle <Dynastes> [Consumes both your magecloth and focus slot. Runespace: 8, 4. +1 ACC [GOLEM STATS: 10 HP, 4 MOV, 7 DC, +1 PWR]; Can only create 2 spells for you to cast using your 8 Runespace. Your Golem, meanwhile, may only cast one spell allotted to it alone, created using the 4 Runespace assigned to it. Your golem may cast its spell or move using its own action, but requires you to expend your MOV action to move it in addition to casting a spell. If your golem is destroyed, it will respawn in a tile adjacent to you after two turns pass. This golem can fly, ignoring terrain hazards unless otherwise specified. Your golem cannot be healed.]
A regal mantle and cape, magically linked to a heavier duty iteration of the Scarab golem model.
>>
>>6453528
HIEROSHIELDS

>Dragonmaw [DC: 8, MOV: 3, HP: 7; Whenever you cast an ELEMENT: FIRE spell, increase its PWR by 1. If that spell has 3 or more ELEMENT: FIRE sigils, increase its PWR by 2 instead.]
A Hieroshield ring crafted with a sliver of dragonash, channeling the powerful latent fire mana into something usable by human mages.

>Hieroshield: Integushell [HP: 17, MOV: 3, Shell DC: 10; Whenever you receive an attack, instead of blocking it if the roll is beneath your DC, subtract the attack roll from your Shell DC and gain an amount of Damage Resistance to that attack equal to that value. If your damage resistance is greater than or equal to the damage dealt by an attack, you do not receive any non damage penalties (e.g. elemental stacks, debuffs, on-hit effects) from that attack. If the attack roll exceeds your Shell DC, take the full damage of the attack roll instead.]
Modeled after the durable carapaces of the Wroughtbeetles, this Hieroshield actually subtly attracts attacks instead of deflecting them, leading them into its strong points for reliable mitigation instead of outright deflection.

MAGECLOTHS

>Amponcho [Whenever you successfully apply a lightning stack, add two Charge to this magecloth. You may convert charges into bonus damage or quickstep stacks at a 1:1 ratio, or expend 10 to take an extra casting action. You may gain no more than 5 Charges in a single turn, with all over the limit being automatically converted into Quickstep stacks.]
A magecloth that accumulates excess current from the natural inefficiency of spellcasting, storing it as energy to be reused and repurposed.

>Endler's Habit [When you have the status Death Knell, increase the PWR of all spells you cast by 2.] [SYNERGY: If the spell is ELEMENT: CTHONIC, increase the PWR of that spell while targeting allies (but not enemies targeted by the same spell) an additional 1, to a total of +3 PWR from this Magecloth.]
A religious vestment from a faith long dead, embroidered with sigils and glyphs that give praise to forces beyond human understanding. It grants power, but carries an ominous aura.

EFFECTS

>Mirrorwalk [ELEMENT: CRYSTAL] [Runespace: 3; Place a mirror down on an adjacent tile, removing the oldest if more than 4 mirrors exist on the battlefield. If on a tile containing a mirror, you may expend one MOV during a MOV action to move to any other tile with a mirror. Spells that pass through mirror tiles may be refracted, changing trajectory on that tile as desired.]
There was once thought to be magic in all mirrors, a connection to a world parallel to this one. Though this notion has since been disproven, the concept later became the basis for one of the most fundamental spells in Crystal sorcery.
>>
>>6453529
>Ghostgrip [ELEMENT: NECROMANCY] [Runespace: 2, PWR: 1; Does a flat 4 DMG against enemies hit regardless of this spell's PWR. Upon successful hit, the enemy receives a MOV penalty this round equal to this spell's PWR, down to a minimum total MOV of Zero (this may counteract quickstep stacks). While you have this effect cast on an enemy, you are always in range of their attacks. When you target multiple enemies with this spell, distribute a number of MOV maluses between all of them equal to double this spell's PWR, regardless of the number of targets. No individual enemy may receive a penalty greater than this spell's PWR]
Projects forth your very soul, wrapping it around your enemy's throat and, with enough power, lifting them into the air. This sigil is often avoided when facing stronger opponents, as enemies may harm you by attacking the spirit directly.

>Chromeparry [ELEMENT: STEEL] [Runespace: 2, PWR: 2; deals damage equal to spell PWR upon successful hit. Tally up all damage you took from enemy attacks targeted against you last round (including from ally or self Wyrmbreath), including damage nullified by resistances or absorbed by barriers, but not including overkill from broken Hieroshields. Deal non-pwr bonus damage equal to that sum, up to a maximum of 7.]
A synthesis of the offensive and defensive properties of Metalmancy, manifesting a sharp blade with an even sharper riposte.

>Bolturbine [ELEMENT: LIGHTNING] [Runespace: 2; On rounds where you would cast this spell, extra quickstep that would normally be lost is instead stored. If this spell, or any other actions taken after movement is completed, would grant Quickstep stacks, they are instead stored. This sigil deals damage equal to the number of tiles you moved this turn before targeting that enemy (including form and focus-based movement, but not including any form of teleportation or any movement done after you target the enemy in question), or the number of Quickstep stacks stored by this sigil, whichever is lower. Quickstep stacks stored for the purposes of Bolturbine cannot be used for movement, but can be reused for another Bolturbine cast. All stored quickstep stacks are depleted at the end of turns where Bolturbine was cast.]
Lightning follows your steps, your velocity and kinetic energy being stored as capacitance and unleashed as a tremendous electric shock.

FORMS

>Garotte: [Runespace: 3, 2d5+2, Range: 4; BEND, PIERCE, loses 1 Range per ally or enemy targeted]
An attempt to combine the best points of two of the most fundamental forms in all of spellcraft, gaining the flexibility of a Missile at the cost of Pierce’s target efficiency.
>>
>>6453530
>Spitfire [ELEMENT: FIRE] [Runespace: 4, 2d4+2, Range: 3; PIERCE. This spell's last two tiles of range (stopping early if this spell is interrupted by a wall or pillar before reaching maximum range output) also affects the two adjacent tiles perpendicular to the trajectory of the spell.] [SYNERGY: If this spell has Wyrmbreath, deal an additional 2 damage to enemies hit on the last two tiles of this spell's trajectory (but NOT in the spread area)]
The caster spews forth a short but potent blast of fire, washing over everything in its wake and fanning outwards at the end of its range.

>Voltvolley [Runespace: 2, 3d4, Range: 6; gain an additional PWR on this spell for each [ELEMENT: LIGHTNING] sigil on it. If this spell has 4 or more [ELEMENT: LIGHTNING] sigils, it also gains +1 ACC.] [SYNERGY: if you have the Hieroshield <Elementalist> configured to Lightning, act as if this spell had one additional lightning element sigil]
This spell mimics the natural flow of electricity, compressing mana into an uncountable deluge of tiny, weightless particles before sending them outwards in a devastating bolt of magic. As a result of its direct reference point, it synergizes mightily with other sigils that imitate the natural might of lightning.

>Nillknight [ELEMENT: NECROMANCY] [Runespace: 2, Range: 3; Upon selecting this spell form, also select one melee spell form of your choice, paying its Runespace cost and appending it to this spell. Instead of targeting an ally or enemy, target a tile. Deploy the Nillknight at that tile, or the last unobstructed tile in this spell's trajectory. Then, the Nillknight will cast this spell using the selected melee form as directed before vanishing. Compatible with Longshot, adding that modifier's ACC to the melee spell. Gain focus benefits from the melee spell even on foci which generally do not allow melee.]
A spell form crafted to keep frailer mages safe in the heat of battle, allowing a single caster to serve as both vanguard and ranged firepower.

MODIFIERS

>Soloist [Runespace: 2, PWR: +5; this spell may only have a single Effect sigil] [Tag: Orchestra. Incompatible with Hone.]
A musical modifier that attunes to and strengthens a single effect, but makes it impossible for the spell to support another.
>>
>>6453531
Light of the Burning King [ELEMENT: FIRE] [Runespace: 0, PWR: -1, ACC: +2; This spell leaves magelights in its trajectory, but clears all beneficial ally tile effects (including but not limited to spellmines, hazards, and deployables) as well as nullifying the barriers of allies in this spell’s path. For every tile or barrier (regardless of barrier health remaining) cleared this way, this spell deals 1 additional DMG to enemies successfully hit by this spell that would take damage from one or more of its effects. For the purposes of cross-spell compatibility, this is considered a Sinsigil. Incompatible with Wyrmbreath.]
“Aw Resplendent was the Burning King, the brightest light below. Now that flame has burnt to nil, save sigil’s borrowed glow.”

>Double or Nothing [Runespace: 1; Whenever you cast this spell, you may declare DOUBLE OR NOTHING. If you opt to do so, roll 1d9, casting your spell twice on an odd number and not at all on an even roll] [Tag: Highroller]
A Highroller sigil made for true gamblers, allowing the caster to access a potent but highly inconsistent alternate mana pathway, either doubling the output or completely fizzling out.

>Smitesalve [Runespace: 2; if this spell has the sigil Hierosmite (not other damaging sigils which share its effect text), it may restore allies’ hieroshields as if it had the Restore sigil]
A clever set of tweaks to the Hierosmite sigil, channeling its offensive prowess into restorative ability. Evades the penalty of ramping effect conflicts at the cost of some potency.

>Syncope [Runespace: -1] [Tag: Orchestra]
Sometimes, silence is beautiful.

You have THREE DAYS to complete your loadouts. A beginner friendly list of sigils will be posted soon as a response to the much larger set of options we now possess. Please ask if you have any questions

BALANCING ADDENDUM

I updated this in the rentry but realized I didn't properly mention it in the balance patch post

>Echocast [Runespace: 3, 2d4+2, Range: 4; When you target an ally or enemy with this spell, instead target them twice, hitting them with the spell's full effect once upon one successful hit, and a second time at 2/3 PWR upon a second, rounding down. However, the effects of this spell's elements (not other Elemental stack sources like envenomate) may only be applied once per target, regardless of the number of hits. Incompatible with Barrage.]

"Violence begets violence. We are merely vessels of violence and brutality. For a wise man once told me, all humans eventually wish to relay responsibility and personal identity to their basest instincts. To become closer to a divine presence that will absolve them of guilt, for indulging in such base desires."

Conquest reaches a hand up to her mask. She almost pulls it off, but she stops at the last moment. She mutters about it not being the 'right time' yet.

"We shall march forward, my fellow soldiers. Into yet another war. Into another display of wanton violence and cruelty. It will be a **delicious** feast."

"This is a warzone. And my gun must blow someone up."

After his somewhat lackluster performance in protecting everyone in the previous mission (not to mention getting snubbed by the broodmother spider queen), Willis rethinks his strategy and comes up with a cunning idea... Why not FORCE the enemies to fight him, instead of waiting for his allies to get hit to protect them?
Leaving behind the Fogjewel Blade and Stargazer shield, Willis picks up the Nightwatcher sword and cape and strikes up a pose befitting a matador more than a knight, as if he were rehearsing for a play.

>>
>>6453633
EFFECT COST: 9 (1 Venom, 2 Muckrend, 3 Hierosmite, 4 Purify)
FORM COST: 2 (2 from Lance)
POSITIVE MODIFIER COST: 6

Error: Syncope and Crescendo can't be run at the same time.
Error: Double or Nothing can't be run with Unstable.
Error: 2 points over your RS limit.

Conky Recommendation: You could replace Crescendo with Dirge. That'd bring you to 13 RS if you keep unstable and forgo Double or Nothing, then slap on two longshot to get 9 RNG and better acc. It'd make each barrage hit 4 PWR instead of 5, but Dawnforce will help you out there. Plus, if you go down, you can still do something before needing to be healed.

Or, if you want Double or Nothing, give up Muckrend and Unstable, and use the extra two RS for two longshot or something.

>If a Spellmine has Wyrmbreath, will it trigger if an ally steps on it?
Yes, it will

>If I cast Barrier with Elegy to the Old Ones while wearing Doomsinger, will the barrier from Doomsinger apply before the barrier from the spell or after?
Doomsinger's barrier isn't additional, so it's most comparable to just casting a 6 PWR barrier spell. In other words, if you cast a barrier spell with 20 power, regardless of the priority order, it will override the doomsinger barrier and put you at 20. For things that DO grant additional barrier, such as sigils like Flush Draw, the additional barrier always resolves after the initial barrier cast to maximize total barrier gain

Looked it over, and it checks out! The only thing I'd warn you about is that you won't be able to hone and drink a daiquiri in the same turn, since both compete for your MOV action
>>
>>6453690
Mmmh, right. I think it might still be useful. In case of another Gloomknight
>>
>>6453690
If Ephemeral Step is triggered by a prepared Reactive Spell would you avoid any damage from a successful attack as you move away from the attack/attacker? I haven't seen this interaction happen so far halfway through thread 2, and depending on how this interaction plays out I might need to alter my planned defensive option.
>>
>>6453700
(ephem step's effect is stated to happen before casting/effect resolution, so you'd just step immediately on casting just as normal even on a reactive/chambered spell.)
>>
>>6453700
For matters of reactive and chambered (including ultorishawl), Ephemeral resolves after the spell is proced but before other all other effects
>>
>>6453707
(oh.)
>>
>>6453707
So an Ultorishawl (+1 Power from Reactive) with the spell Barrier(+3 Power)/Ephemeral Step/Elegy to the Old Ones(+2 Power from targeting self due to Cthonic element) would have the following effect on a successful enemy attack hitting me:
- The spell activates due to it's Reactive nature, increasing my DC by 2 and lowering the incoming damage since my DC is now higher.
- I take a move action due to Ephemeral Step activating first.
- Barrier activates after the move with a power of 6, blocking some or all incoming damage.

Did I get that right?
>>
>>6453730
DC makes you harder to hit (attack rolls are checked against it), it's different from Damage Resistance that makes the hits you do take deal less damage. Also, Ephemeral is a teleportation effect and not movement, which sounes pedantic but does actually matter for things like hazards and effects like Bolturbine
>>
>>6453739
OP, you should update the Elegy to the Old Ones on rentry. It still have PWR +3 there.
>>
>>6453437
Did some build reviewing and realized that I Hallucinated Two Power into Sapping Constellation last mission. Apologies
>>
>>6453739
I assume an increase in DC after the fact won't stop a successful attack from hitting you then, even if it would make the attack miss?

Probably the more important question that needs answering is if the reactive Barrier would activate before or after I die from being hit.
>>
>>6453748
The DC bonus is live WHILE the reactive spell is prepared but BEFORE it procs, so it may save you from being killed

BARRIER goes up AFTER you receive an attack, successful or otherwise, and will not save you from an attack that would one-shot you but may save you from succumbing to multiple attacks

As the Dawnseekers drag themselves out of the Silverharp in various states of drunkeness, one singular shooting star can be seen passing over their guild hall. A beautiful sight on most starlit nights, though this proves to be different affair as the star itself, instead of disappearing in the night, crashes diretcly through the roof of the guild hall with a loud bang. Those sober enough scramble to make it back with speed, while those not so sober do their uttmost to not collapse in the nearest gutter.

Arriving at the guild hall, now with a freshly installed skylight, you hear a terrible ruckus from within the Spell Armoury. Green lightning flickers unsteadily underneath the door for a moment as a slightly charred and smoking Kudryavka emerges seconds after with a diminutive green creature that sparkles with electrical discharge. She holds it upside down at arms length, a tiny jester's hat firmly ignoring gravity on it's head as the being slowly sways back and forth, the little bells on the end of the hat jingling slightly as it does so. In it's hand is a small Foci, a wand from the armoury that pulses with the same electrical power it does.

As it slowly spins around to observe whomever made themselves present, a small smile appears on the creature's face. It lets out a single, soft cry:

"Poyo!"

Recommendation: Just remove Imbue Mist and Syncope, it'll keep your RS same without affecting the stats of Surge Protection.

You CAN assign Elementalist (Lightning), since Elementalist only cares if we have a sigil of that type, not the Imbue of that type. So you can replace one of your Lightning effects on Galvanic Surge with something else if you want.

Ah, the pastebin only made mention that we had Fire/Ice/Earth elements so I assumed those were the only elligble targets for Elementalist. We'll alter that then.

>>6453886
>>6453887
Likewise it doesn't say on the pastebin that Syncope and Soloist are mutual exclusive. As it specifically states on other Orchestra tagged modifiers that they can't be used with others of the same type, I assumed you could take both of those together. Turns out it's irrelevant since I read only the flavour text on Imbue and not the actual description and can't actually Imbue Mist into my spell.

Unfortunately not with Soloist, but I can swap it out for Crescendo to allow for multiple effects! Up to 13 tile extra movement on next movement action on self/ally is actually nuts and that's probably much better than the two extra base PWR from Soloist.

We do tend to get more DPS players than tanks or supports, so it wouldn't hurt to pick a more supportive build, but there will always at least be SOMETHING to shoot at.

Jorogumo walks into the armory, clearly refreshed after another wonderful taverncr@wl spent carousing at someone else's expense—

"Poyo!" Poyo waves cheerfully.

Joro immediately quails at the sight of her atavistic foe and lets out a terrible cry, surely the greatest and most dreadful cry to have ever been heard in the histories of the Republic, rattling the floorboards and shattering glass, and her rifle drops to the floor where it shatters into thousands of flinders!

"WHAT THE FUCK! THERE'S A GREEN ONE TOO!" she screeches in a voice deeper and darker yet, then sprints out at maximum velocity to the safety of the moonlit nite...

Those are everything we got from the shop. Use those, everything in the OP rentry link, and asking questions here for buildcrafting. Have fun and don't spellcraft during work, that'll get you into some trouble, hehe.
>>
>>6454181
Well, I've got some questions

>Sacrescepter
I'm assuming we just don't have any crimson star sigils and thus would always gain additional folly stacks

>Dealer's Whim
By ".1x", is it supposed to be 1.1x, or 0.1X? Unless I've fairly certain the latter would put any spell with less than a hundred damage to a single digit number.

>Syncope
Is this just...a freebie? Free additional runespace?

>Smogvisor
I'm going to guess that the malus doesn't do anything to "melee range"
>>
>>6454199
Yea, you'd be rolling 3d3 on the Sceptre.
Dealer's Whim is d14. So a 11 result is 1.1x multiplier while a 2 result is a 0.2 multiplier. A 1 gets a 1.5x multiplier (Aces High).
Syncope is a freebie but also opportunity cost of not taking any of the other Orchestra tagged modifiers.
Smogvisor has no effect on 1 RNG melee (you can still hit the guy). Flashstep form has RNG though, so that'd be affected. Not sure if it messes up Fangbreaker's extra RNG though, but probably.
>>
>>6454200
I see...about the Integushell, also, I don't quite understand, do you just always take damage with it?
>>
>>6454201
Yep (unless the enemys attack rolls really low)
>>
>>6454206
I see. I'm starting to think of an idea...during a necromancy last stand state, are you capable of healing yourself with Shello-Shot? And, if you were to go below zero HP due to burning folly at the same turn you cast a necromancy spell, how would that work?
>>
>>6454207
You may not heal yourself in any way while in Last Stand. Even if you're eligible for Necromancy, you'd still be immediately evacuated by Folly's effect
>>
>>6454213
Sceptre's description says broken *at the end of the turn*, and it uses a MOV action, so shouldn't you be able to heal in the same turn you remove it?
>>
>>6454214
You can heal the damage, but Folly is still looming over you even if you do so as more of a status effect. If you heal back to full, then get hit with a powerful attack and still wind up with your hieroshield broken, you still get evacuated
>>
>>6454215
I mean...that's always the case, isn't it? If you can heal in the same turn you folly, that's what matters. I feel like making a sceptre build could be fun given no one else has ever used it.

I'm also going to guess you can't get around Last Stand by using a Nillknight.
>>
>>6454216
You may not. The nillknight is still ultimately a part of your spell. Golemductors also do not bypass Last Stand
>>
>>6454217
Yeah, yeah, I get it. I do hate that I'm asking so many questions, but just one last for the moment, I don't really get how effects stack - there are multiple effects that have a base PWR rating, and there doesn't seem to be anything stopping you from taking multiple of them. So do they stack? Does a 5 PWR and a 2 PWR spell have 7 PWR?
>>
>>6454218
PWR boosts stack. So if you pick Purify, Envenomate and Hierosmite, your spell would have 6 PWR. The only thing that doesn't stack is the 'this spell does damage equal to PWR'. You can't pick two damaging effects (Voltsphere and Hierosmite) and deal damage two times.

But you can still pick Voltsphere and Hierosmite to get 4 PWR.
>>
>>6454219
I see. I think I have an idea for my spellset; please correct me if I'm wrong.
>Spell #1 "Fuck You Die" Spell
Wyrmbreath + Nigredo + Something Non-Elemental + Barrage = Big damage that doesn't get cucked by single elemental immunity
>Spell #2 "Fuck You I won't Die" Spell
Restore + Wreathe + Soloist = Full Heal on Most Hieroshields

The idea being that you spam the first spell over and over and over and over until you get too much folly, then cast it and full heal yourself on the same turn.

Does it work, or am I missing something?
>>
>>6454223
I say it should probably work, as long as you keep in mind that Barrage won't apply Nigredo's onyx stacks multiple times, since it's a non PWR based effect. But you would be doing some decent damage. Onyx Fire is a pretty strong effect so it never hurts to apply it.
As long as you pick a tanky Hieroshield so you can actually remove Folly stacks without needing to be healed all the time (Bulwark or Integushell would be your best bets), it should be good to go.

>I say it should probably work, as long as you keep in mind that Barrage won't apply Nigredo's onyx stacks multiple times
That's fine, what matters is that if you stacked Basic + Fire + Necromancy you'd have three elemental types on one spell, which I assume means you'd at the very least be doing one type of damage regardless of whether immunity stops the others.

>As long as you pick a tanky Hieroshield so you can actually remove Folly stacks without needing to be healed all the time (Bulwark or Integushell would be your best bets), it should be good to go.
Integushell would be nice but if it doesn't block any damage that kinda causes trouble

AAAAnd someone decided to take the idea first. Welp. Good.
>>

>someone decided to take the idea first
You can still run whatever you wanted to run, man. I will clarify we don't really have damage immunity, per se, the enemies we have come across just resist certain damage types. (At least from what we have seen so far)

So if an enemy takes -2 DMG from Fire spells, and +3 DMG from Necromancy, a spell with Nigredo would deal +1 DMG to them.
>>
>>6454231
>You can still run whatever you wanted to run, man.
Yeah, well, it's not really a nice feeling when you're talking about your idea and someone suddenly changes their entire build to be exactly that.
>>
>>6454232
...I genuinely don't think Parsley did to slight you or something. He's the one who picked the staff last mission, of course he was going to use it in his next build. And to get the most advantage out of it, you'd want some sort of barrier or self heal.
>>
>>6454234
Well, it's not like I want to be the guy who says that, but when you're talking about making a sacrescepter wyrmbreath two-spell combo and then the next post is exactly that, what exactly are you supposed to feel? It might be autistic, but now I have to go back to the drawing board unless i want to be the exact same as an already existing character from thread one.
>>
>>6454235
I can assure you Parsley wasn't basing his thing off yours. He's been kicking around sacrescepter ideas for the last few days and Wyrmbreath is just the most pwr efficient damaging sigil. It's more like how stuff keeps evolving into crabs than intentional plagiarism

The third spell effect have +2 runespace penalty, so "Restore" have 9 RS and "Deathlaser" have 6 RS total.
"Restore" is a target spell used in allies, so malus from cthonic element, resulting in a 9 PWR spell.

I recommend taking Hierosmite from "Deathlaser".

Then I'll just remove Imbue Earth. The Elegy thing is on purpose.

For the death laser, I'd recommend trading out Hierosmite for Dawnforce. You'd get a similar power total without having to worry about the ramping effect cost. That cuts your spell down to 3 runespace, which gives you enough room to tack on Double or Nothing, Trickshot, or Scuttle, all of which are pretty useful
>>
>>6454346
Oops, miscalculated, you'd need to run dawnforce and blunt.
>>
>>6454346
I miscalculated, I only had one Runespace left. By taking out Hierosmite, it'd be R3, so I wouldn't be able to take Dawn Force in the first place. Which does leave one of the effects you mentioned.

Regardless, I will be writing the actual character when I can.

Poyo waves frantically to the new friend, a very big lady with a pointy hat, that had suddenly appeared through the doorway. Maybe she'll let him sit on her shoulders if she's really nice! From up there he could see so many thi—
A panicked shriek erupts from the strange lady as she drops her bizzare stick due to the sheer terror that overwhelms her. It shatters into a million fragments as it strikes the ground, the hat lady trembling in fear as she screams something incomprehensible in horror before quickly evacuating the scene the way that she came.

Poyo hurriedly runs after her, doing his best not to step on any of the shard fragments from the strange stick, and peeks out around the door frame of the open front door. He watches the rapdily disappearing shadow of the hat lady with a mixture of worry and confusion.
"Poyo…?" Comes a confused and dejected little exclamation. He shivers slightly from the cold breeze that blows through the door and quickly decides to head back inside.

The slivers of the strange stick lay splayed across the floor, glinting gently in the soft candlelight. Poyo sits down next to one of the bigger shards and pulls it closer, observing himself in it's reflective surface. Maybe the hat lady was sad because her stick broke so suddenly?
His stomach grumbles loudly, and Poyo frowns in displeasure as he stands up and wanders away from the former stick in search of something to eat. Eventually, after wandering around aimlessly in the guild hall for a while, he manages to find the modestly stocked pantry. A delightful smell emenates from within, and Poyo, despite his admittedly tiny stature, manages to scale the insides of the cupboard with ease to reach the vaunted item. Displayed underneath a crystal dome is a large plate of various types of cheeses. He gleefully knocked the dome over in order to reach the treasures within.

"Poyo!" he cries out in excitement as he indulges himself in the large assortment of dairy products before him.

"Another of the Construct's ilk, perhaps? Helplessly hungry. Harmful? Mayhap..."

The little green puffball was overjoyed at the rich tastes of unguarded pantry, the cheesy aroma hanging heavy after he had removed the protective dome and devoured it's way through the Gouda, the Cheddar, Brie and Mozzarella (names it didn't know but whose flavours was thoroughly enjoyed) with overwhelming speed. Before him remained the pièce de résistance of the cheese platter, a large wedge of richly aged Parmesan. He drooled slightly at the sight, staring starry-eyed at the great lump of cheese in front of him. He was just about to take a bite when another scent intruded on him. He swiveled around to identify the new arrival.

There, on the floor. A piece of cheese that must've fallen out of the pantry during his rampage! He stepped over to the ledge of the shelf, leaning over it slightly to try and get a better look at it. The Bog-Witch's presence lingered at the edge of his vision, but was ignored in favour of the new foodstuff. It was so far down though...

Poyo mustered his might and began inhaling with all of his strength. A small whirlwind stirred up and attempted to bring the cheese with it to his waiting maw. The cheese was unimpressed by his efforts. He exerted himself more, the increased suction power causing the hanging lantern nearby to sway precariously in the turbulence, and the Bog-Witch to lose her grip on her scroll and quill as they were helplessly sucked into the void. In a stubborn showing of usless defiance, the cheese tried it's best to not give way, before slowly, and then very suddenly, abandoning the constrictions of gravity, colliding very softly (as cheese does) against the face of the awaiting Poyo. He slid back slightly at the impact, the cheese balancing precariously on the egde for a moment before accepting it's fate and stabilizing itself neatly on the shelf.

"Poyo." He exclaimed, satisifed at his work as he set about consuming his new catch of dairy.

I'm putting together an absolutely deranged W.I.P build but I need some clarification to make sure I'm not just being insane for no reason.

Does Quickstep interact at all with Flashstep's movement? Quickstep says it increases the range of the targets next movement, and Flashstep says the user moves a number of tiles equal to this spells range (Keyword here: Moves). Say I have a spell that incorporates both and I spend my movement action using the Quickpick to mine or scavange, would I gain extra movement on my Flashstep's form move if I cast my offensive spell since it technically incorporates a movement action in it's cast?
I'm leaning towards a definitive 'No' since I'm basically doing a lot of rules lawyering here, but I just wanted to make sure.

Similarly, Flashstep targets all enemies you pass through on cast. Is it then possible for you to attack the same enemy multiple times by passing through their tile more than once? With the base range of 3 you're incapable of this because you would end your turn on an enemy tile, but with Longshot increasing the range to 5 or 7 you have the option to curve back and forth through the same tile multiple times.

Oh yes, and is Flashstep compatible with weapons that aren't capable of equipping ranged sigils since it counts as a melee attack despite it's range? This is a very important question since the Foci I intend to use here is incompatible with ranged sigils.

As the day carried on like any other, those still in the main room of the silverharp tavern would begin to faintly hear a growing sound, a faint music in the air, growing louder and louder by the minute, until at last it is behind that very door. And then, it bursts open, a large, comically muscular man bursting in as if to almost rip the door off the hinges. The man in question, standing on the tavern floor, is a sight most bizarre, a goliath tall enough to almost reach the entryway's roof, a deep azure cape hanging towards the floor from an intricate blue and golden neckpiece - and above it, an intricately carved mask, depicting a flawless face more like a statue than a man. Gold, wavy hair almost as long as the cape falling from behind it

And then, in a split second, the man enters a dramatic pose, pointing towards those staring at him. The choir somehow continues, coming not from him, but from the very air around him in what could be either magic or an choir of invisible dwarfs hiding out of sight.

"My fellows!" he says, with a much deep and theatric voice.
"My companions!" he repeats.

"I arrive at last to CURSE you with my presence...I am certain you ask yourselves now, what hath brought such a VILE and DISGUSTING man to these hallowed halls...then very well! Although it HURTS me so...I shall tell you this story you so desperately wish to know..."

In a moment, he suddenly snaps into a spear throwing pose.

"I am but a man of HUMBLE origins...born in a DISTANT DESERT LAND to POOR SAND FARMERS. DISFIGURED and HIDEOUS from birth as I am now, I was given a mask to hide my REPULSIVE FACE. Yet despite my grotesqueness...I was happy!" he proclaims, before snapping into another pose. His skin, only slightly less pale than someone who might get sunburnt in the moonlight, shines inexplicably.

"But alas! What horrible FATE! What horrible FUTURE! My humble village was attacked by beastly creatures of the nocturne dark..struck by an attack we did not expect! The HARSH SUN that once protected us had FAILED! And yet...in my COWARDICE...I ran! I ran from my home, like a TRAITOROUS FOOL, leaving mine kin behind to PERISH...I ran for hours, until I at last found a sizeable DUNE I could hide in! Throughout the NIGHT, I heard the sound of beastly gunfire...and the animalistic dying screams of my VILLAGE! When the day came at last, and all was silenced except the sounds of the monsters working and talking, I dared not return and see the massacre which lay. I decided, THEN, that although I could never repay my IMMENSE DEBT of EVIL and CRAVENNESS, I could follow my PENITENCE...by JOINING these WILD VENTURES THROUGH THE DEPTHS OF THE EARTH."
>>
He finishes, with a flair of his arm, and another pose. A single tear falls from behind his golden mask and bright blue eyes.

"THAT Is mine STORY...I am CERTAIN NOW, That you see what HORRID deeds I have done. If it is a NAME you need to know, so that you may curse and jeer, then PTOLEMY is what you may call me!" he declares, his arms spread open, with a finishing flair.

"And also, I need to know if this town has any place that will sell Aged Springrose Extract Oil for the hair. Standard WILL NOT DO."

Warpig's gone in for a tuneup since the last mission. His armor is slightly more slender, yet still formidable and his Pelt has been dyed black as pitch and covered with scribbling and runes, omens and fates. By far the biggest difference is his new equipment: on one side of his belt hangs a hefty pick with a jagged edge, almost as if he carved a killing point himself, and on the other an terribly large glowing flask that seems to be glowing a pulsating red despite the leather skin not being transparent.

No, you can think about it kind of like a piercing spell. You target any given number of enemies on that trajectory exactly once, with the potential exception of Arcing

The witch's hands linger in the air for a moment after her writing implements vanished into the newcomer's massive mouth.

"Ah." She mutters, finally catching up to the situation with the speed of a sloth, "Different from the Ice Construct, then." Brushing the dust from her robed knees, the girl rises to a standing hunch as she watches the hungry orb feast from afar. "So small, yet so swinish," She remarks, tapping a gloved finger against her chin in a ponderous manner, "But where does it all go, we wonder..."

Retrieving a broomstick from the pantry's corner, the witch gently pokes the creature's side as if the gesture could give her her answers. Was this ravenous wanderer synthetic like so many other recent recruits? Or something more? If only she could obtain some kind of sample to study...

"Hair fare for fair hair? We dabble in care."

A crooked smile slips onto her vaguely-freckled face. "First one's free, boy..."

Alas, it was not to be. Poyo's dream flew too close to the sun, and the QM smote him for his hubris. The deranged build can still be salvaged though, it will just look a little different.

>>6454722
Poyo's attempts to devour his fifth type of dairy today (an entirely new type to cheese science as it happens, one that would surely receive the moniker 'Bog-Witch Blue Cheese' if any cheese scientist were present) was rudely interrupted by the strange, smelly woman and her powerful broomstick. Time and again he would reach for the cheese only for the menacing poke instrument to get in his way.

Once. He tried to ignore it, reaching out and taking a small piece of the cheese in his hand.
Twice. The broom knocked the cheese out of his hands just as he was about to gobble it up. He reached out to grab it again.
Thrice. The next poke caught him unawares as he was grabbing for the lost cheese, knocking him off balance and causing him to roll over on his side.
Fourth. He had tried to stand up, but was unsucessful as another gentle poke caused him to trip and fall flat on his little face.

On the fifth poke he caught the intruding object between his tiny arms. Static built up around the end of the broomhandle as his teeny jester hat began to flutter as the electrical power built to dangerous levels.

"POYO!" He cried in annoyance as the sparks began flowing downwards towards the harasser. The wooden handle cracked from the elemental force as it did so, before the surge of lightning reached and rolled over the Bog-Witch herself. The distinct smell of slightly charred swamp hag rose from the woman, together with a small black smoke cloud. The spell hadn't been powerful enough to do any serious damage, but it had singed her clothes something awful and left her hair in a dangerous mess. Some remaining static discharge rolled visibly between a few unfortunate strands of hair as the broom dropped out of her hands.

Satisfied by this territorial display of power, Poyo sat down again next to his cheesy conquest, his feet dangling happily over the edge as he continued to indulge in all the goodies the pantry provided.

Jorogumo hums pleasantly and softly to herself (somehow in the accent of the distant colonial state of Jorgia across the sea) as she drags the heaving bulk of Parsley behind her with all the ease and carelessness of carrying about a child's doll. No one else would intervene otherwise, so why not her? Haha...

During the liquor-fueled festivities in the Silverharp, some may have noticed Cynthia ruminating alone in the corner over a colorful martini. Her morose mood could be blamed on the vote, which robbed her the opportunity of finally experiencing flight firsthand, but astute observers would see that she was reading and rereading a particular letter.

Thankfully, the startling introductions of the new recruits take her eyes of the page. Through the gleam of her slightly drunken eyes, she attends Ptolmey's speech with baffled fascination, deep incredulity, and an annoying inability to keep her wandering eyes from admiring his musculature. If she was any more drunk, she'd probably be blushing.

The descent of the verdant vesper was equally thrilling. Like a child studying an insect, for much of the night she could be seen peering down wide-eyed on the strange "Poyo" speaker, and she made sure to witness the ruckus of its cheesy feast from around the corner of the door frame. This adorable alien creature removed all thoughts of her mother from her mind, which was truly a blessing.

...

Meanwhile, in a dimly-lit office, tucked within a manor that overlooks the Capital on a nearby hill, a man dressed as a courier is ushered in by a household servant. He closes the door and addresses a standing figure, whose back is turned, looking out the window into the pale and frigid evening air. “Lady Cloudsley! Thank you dearly for receiving me at this late hour. I was, ahem, unfortunately delayed, so much so that I haven’t had the chance to change into my usual attire. Hopefully this can serve as recompense.” The man pulls a thick file out from his sidebag. “I successfully delivered your letter, and as promised, I have here a collection of profiles with details on each of the ‘Dawnseekers,’ the name that Cynthia’s new 'friends' are calling themselves. A fascinating array of personalities. Frankly, the rapidity of their progress over the past few months has been astounding for an upstart group. I wouldn’t be surprised if even the Hierophants are keeping a close eye on them.”

“Hmm!” The woman grunts, only slightly turning her head. “And how exactly is this supposed to ensure my daughter’s safe and timely return?” The man bites his tongue. “Ah, well… there are a few leads that come to mind. Plenty of the details we turned up about her ‘friends’ ought to be enough to thoroughly spook her. Besides that, there might be some political connections we can leverage. It’s all rather inconclusive though.” His words hang in the air, and a tense silence fills the room. The man senses the temperature drop by a few degrees, but blames it on his imagination. He clears his throat. "The safety of your daughter is our highest priority. If you have any questions or concerns about these files, you know how to contact me. Good night, my lady."

The man steps out of the room, leaving the folder of profiles open on the desk, ready to be examined...

[SPELL #1] POYO!!! [Galvanic Surge]
EFFECT
- Voltsphere [ELEMENT: LIGHTNING]: [Runespace: 2 - 1 (From Versatile), PWR: 2.]
- Bolturbine [ELEMENT: LIGHTNING] [Runespace: 2 - 1 (From Versatile).]
- Nettlefetter [Runespace: 2 (Extra tax deducted by Versatile), PWR: 2; Upon successfully hitting an enemy with this spell, they become Fettered in place until the end of this round. If they opt move, they take damage equal to this spell’s PWR]
- Hierosmite [Runespace: 1+1 (Tax deducted by 1 from Versatile), PWR: 2; Deal damage equal to this spell’s PWR to an enemy.]

FROM
- Voltvolley [Runespace: 2, 3d4, Range: 6]

MODIFIERS
- Sinsigil <Pride> [-4 Runespace.]
- Elegy to the Old Ones [ELEMENT: CTHONIC]: [Runespace: -2, PWR +2; Incompatible with other Orchestra sigils] [Tag: Orchestra]
- Sprawling: [Runespace -1; This spell takes up two spell slots instead of 1]
- Arcing [Runespace: 2.] [ELEMENT: LIGHTNING]
- Versatile [Runespace: 1, -2 PWR; Decreases the Runespace cost of Effect sigils by 1.]
- Longshot [Runespace: 1, +2 Range, +1 ACC] x2

Total:
- 2 Spell Slots
- Runspace cost: 6
- +4 ACC
- +4 Range
- PWR: 15, Conditional PWR (+2 from Endler's Habit while in Death Knell, +3 from Strongstout) = 20

Total damage 12 — 34 (27 — 49 damage if target tries to move) {24 — 68 if the arc hits, 39 — 83 if targets attempt to move}

Effective change:
> + Total Base Power increased from 12 to 15 (on the previous iterationI calculated the lowest total damage to 9 but wrote it as the lowest total PWR, which was incorrect. The damage calculation on the old spell is either +1/+2 damage off since I calculated the Voltvolley Bonus at 4, when I think it should actually be at 5 with Elementalist.)
> + Total maximum potential damage increased by 25-30%
> + Maximum conditional damage increased by 53-60% over previous maximum potential damage thanks to the Fettered condition
> + Enemies are fettered in place on hit
> + Runspace cost remain the same
> - Can not recieve healing or buffs from allies

----

[SPELL #2] Poyo! [Surge Protection]

EFFECT
- Barrier [Runespace: 3, PWR: 3;]
- Quickstep [Runespace: 1, PWR: 1]

FORM
- Wreathe [Runespace: 1, 2d5, Range: Melee (1), PWR +2]

MODIFIERS
- Elegy to the Old Ones [ELEMENT: CTHONIC]: [Runespace: -2, PWR +2] [Tag: Orchestra]

Total:
- Runespace cost 3
- PWR 10 (13 if using Strongstout) {12 (15) while under the effects of Death Knell}

Effective change:
> + Base Power increased by 2
> + Removed Unstable, guaranteeing successful cast
> + Runespace cost remains the same
> +- Casting range reduced to Melee

We've upped the ante on greed. I figured since I want to stay at max range to boost my damage it would make my mobility and positioning the main defensive weapons in my arsenal, rather than any ally support. Hopefully I won't have to borrow a quote from David Beatty when we get into the action next mission.
>>
>>6455000
I miscalculated again like the fucking retard I am. I forgot to add the conditional power boosts from Endler's Habit and Strongstout to the maximum value for each potential scenario. Total damage values should be:
>12 — 39 (27 — 54 damage if target tries to move on the turn it is hit) {24 — 78 if the arc hits, 39 — 93 if targets attempt to move on the turn they are hit}
>Total Maximum Damage increased by 38-44%
>Total Maximum Conditional Damage increased by 66-70%

>Builds now closed! Players who did not participate last mission, new or returning, may submit builds and hop in as late as deployment. Existing players who have yet to submit a build may still return using their previous one, as well as a Philtreliquor and Spellpick of choice. Ophelia has been granted a special exemption due to IRL circumstances, and as such may also post her build as late as mission deployment.

You assemble in the meeting room to find Kudryavka already there, albeit entirely unconscious. Her face is pressed against the meeting room table, her body contorted to fully maximize the touch of the sun on her skin. Her ears twitch as you all murmur and sift through the papers laid out for you in advance, turning to face any particularly loud noises seemingly on physiological instinct. With a groggy grumble, the good doctor eventually rises to meet you all, slamming down the remaining half of her now room temperature mug of coffee before rising to address you all.

“You guys have done a great job,” she praises you with a weary smile, rubbing the drool off of her face with her sleeve, “Almost too good! So many research materials— I barely had time to sleep… Oh, and the spellpicks! How are you liking them? I couldn’t get an in with the distribution of the official ones since Carnelian’s been hoarding their stuff internally, so knockoffs will have to do.”

Despite her slight self-deprecation, you find the new equipment perfectly functional. You wonder whether the Carnelian forges really do produce better stuff, or if Kudryavka’s just being needlessly critical of her own work.

“Anyway, I can make new spellpicks, but it’ll require some materials. Uh, sorry in advance.”

Instead of being purchased conventionally, a Spellpick may, once per mission, be taken in lieu of the presented rewards. All reward rolls where Spellpicks are an eligible option will have this fact explicated.

“Anyway, new missions! I know a lot of you are eager to get your hands on Magnimagicks— and, rightfully so, they have incredible power— I wouldn’t mind it if you… you know, played it safe. For a bit I mean.”

Her gaze falls down, lingering on something in her notes before she shakes her head briskly, as if trying to shake a thought out of it. “Nevermind. You guys know what you’re doing. Oh, one more thing— you probably notice a lot of people absent this time around, yeah? Well, some of them are just out permanently, but a lot of people have been offered work in a little project the Dawnstone guild has been working on. Don’t worry about it too much, it isn’t a permanent commitment.”

She nods, eyes unevenly blinking as she vaguely gestures for you all to look through the offered mission briefs.

THUMP. THUMP. THUMP. The heavy footsteps of someone VERY irritated can be heard getting closer and closer. It is obvious who those footsteps belong to, at least, to those who had to endure this miniature tyrant's presence for the last few days. Or is it weeks? Time is such an immaterial concept in a place like this. A certain gas mask-wearing soldier marches into the room, forcefully pushing away anyone standing in her way.

She has to resist the urge to climb onto the table, both to tower and loom over her 'comrades' while also making herself more visible for her upcoming speech. Upon seeing that the cat was practically drooling on the damn table, contempt flooded the soldier's body. She would not use such a platform, tainted by the spittle of a feline. So, instead, she finds a chair to climb upon. Not quite as good as a table, but she has to make due with what her twisted sense of pride will allow her to do.

"We must seek glory at any cost, my fellow comrades," she begins speaking in a faux-inspirational tone. "is that not what drives you lot? I certainly know it is what drives me. To conquer the world. To grind it underneath my boot. To forever remind those of what their place in the world is. If there was a perfected, iridescent image of the future, it would be a picture of a boot. Stomping on the face of an Abysskin. Forever."

"And what better way to claim this future, than to commit a transcendent act of glory and slaughter? To embrace the infinite divinity that lies within the act of violence. To spread the word far and wide that nothing, and I do mean NOTHING, can stop us."
>>
>>6454611
>>6454612
Conquest's gaze locks onto the first new figure.

"What a loud, boisterous cretin you are. One who speaks of horrors that I have surely seen worse of." The two green dots behind the gas mask's lens, which you can only assume are her eyes, narrow. "Ptolemy, is it so? You have a certain way with words. A certain...cadence, that I could see use of. Even if I have not seen your effectiveness in combat."

"To betray your kin is a noble act in of itself. You can grow beyond what you once were, with the right...pressures." She nods sagely, as if what she said made any sense to anyone but herself. "May you reach your sanctification through the glorious sacrifice of flesh."

>>6453882
Then there was the second figure.

The soldier has never seen anything like it before. She has no idea how to even respond to such an entity existing in the same place as hers. Bright green. Spherical. It resembles more a piece of unripen fruit than anything she could even describe as a 'comrade'. She hastily adjusts her gas mask, as if she's afraid that the entity would release a noxious miasma that would liquify her bones.

"Is that...is that thing even alive? Can it breathe? What a bizarre entity. Anyone with an academic history, I must request this of you: can you obtain this creature's cranial measurements? I must study it for science."

A slight jingle fills the meeting room as the Dawnseekers wait for their resident paper pusher to wake from her slumber and brief them on the topics of this meeting . It was Poyo moving back and forth underneath the table, trying to find a way for him to climb up so he could partake in the briefing proper. Alas, the table was tall and it's legs without grip, which made his attempts to climb them futile. He slid down the table leg for a third time, the bells jingling a little extra as he bumps into the floor with a sad little thud.

"Poyo..." He lets out a small dejected sigh as he flops backwards in defeat, eyes closed in severe dejection. When he opens his eyes again a moment later, he sees a figure >>6455154 wearing steel tipped boots and a long, sandy coloured trenchcoat march into the room. After delivering a rather overblown speech, considering the present company, she steps down from the chair she had occupied for aura and walked up to the table to deliver the final parts of her spiel to the assembled. By that time, Poyo was on his feet again and actively buzzing around her boots.

When she stops next to the table, and the likelyhood of being squashed is lowered, he strikes! Boarding her left shoe and using the fabric of the coat he quickly clambers upward along the leg of the soldier, before making a heroic leap across the small gap between her and the table. He skids over a few of the papers before coming to a halt on the table's polished surface.

"Poyo!" He declares in triumph over the furniture as he beigins to scamper around the paperwork with great speed. One of the mission briefs catches his eye, mostly due to the very fetching artist interpretation of the wingless beast, mid leap towards a group of helpess prey. He begins frantically waving and pointing at the picture in excitement in an attempt at drawing more of the Dawnseekers attention to it.

>RIGHT AFTER CONQUEST ACTS (hehe)

Ever-smiling and ever-present, Jorogumo steps in, crosses the stage in two strides, and, with her magnificent foot, shatters the leg of the chair Conquest is standing upon into millions of splinters. It all happens so fast. A single action so swift and smooth, it's crazy.

"Well, you know what they say: death kicks down both the hovels of the poor and the towers of queens alike," Joro says, turning calmly to the others assembled as if reciting a familiar joke to help break the ice. But as a matter of fact, she's very clearly showing herself off, wagging her finger like a metronome. Her closed-eye gaze set in a now doll-like face lingers on Poyo for a moment too long before she continues cheerfully.

"Ah, where are my manners? I'm terribly sorry for being late, everyone," she says, histrionically. "I had just received a darling gift from my nieces in the Great House" — she pats the two horns of her new hat — "and then there was this cute little white dog hanging around just outside of the guild. Why, I absolutely just had to make time to play with him! Round and round I chased him but alas, I could hardly catch up. Ahhhh, so little time to break, so little time to let these little urges shake~"

Joro hums to herself while wagging her finger to keep time, then kneels down and gets onto her hands, and speaks lowly for the fallen soldier to hear with the same pleasant expression:

>>6451665
"Come on, little rodent, won't you speak?"
"You try and try to be greater yet, but the harder we rise, the harder you fall. Don't let your pride break while our tale of Hell is still making cr@wl."
"You'll try and try to get closer yet to satisfy the beast inside your head, but no matter which path it takes you it won't stop till its fed or dead."

>>6453588
"Come along, little horseman, ride unto dawn. Don't keep us waiting, don't stall too long, just hurry on! You can't afford the time you're wasting. You're wasting away, in wastrel's decay... So make your move. Show you've got something to prove. Show me, show me that which we cannot be. Can't you see? I need you to set yourself free for *me.*" Joro lunges for the Conquest's mask in a blink of an eye then stops just an inch away. Her smile has hardly budged but her eye has opened just enough to let out the faintest sliver of gold. Then it's gone. Joro's hand very slowly retracts and she taps on her own mask.

"But since when have I ever had a say? You're here to stay, clearly not one to just go away. Run on, little rat, and go scurry up the wall. I've always hated boorish military types like you. And... Just between the two of us, us masked monsters playing pretend, you can hardly be called a woman and you will *never* be called a God."

After relieving her pent-up ire in an extremely (self) amusing manner, Joro huffs, stands up, and claps her hands.

"Alright everyone, let's go monster hunting!"

Even with fewer faces in the room, the mayhem that's naturally produced by the Dawnseekers is not lessened, but such antics that ordinarily would annoy her manage this time to crack a smirk out of Cynthia. "That's quite a good way to undermine her point, Madam Joro. I reckon though that this may be out last chance to hunt this beast, and I've always found hunting to be good fun. The Gilkalor takes my vote. (I'm sure we'll be fine, Dr. Kudryavka)."

With that said, Cynthia turns to ponder the melon-like creature dwelling among the scattered pages, pulling out from her coat pocket a black magnifying glass that she 'borrowed' from her father's study many years ago. "Hmm.. I can't seem to find any 'slits', Alaryck. Perhaps Joro has lungs like that... you wouldn't let me check, would you Joro?" she asks coyly, half-joking, and mentally noting that Joro seems more amiable than usual.

She swayed the lollipop back and forth as she towered over him. Poyo waited until she brought it in close, at which point he leapt up and encased the whole of the magnifying glass within his mouth.

It didn't taste very good he thought as he dangled from the handle.
