While the Fuzanglong are unusually intelligent beasts, they are beasts nevertheless, capable of thoughtlessly fixing themselves in place for long periods of time with no concern for its passage. More active minds, however, would almost certainly be driven mad by the boredom of spending hours, or even days, in a single position, or being forced to move at a speed barely visible to the eye to fool any would-be observers. The Long Hunter persists, however, in honing the technique, eventually coming upon an epiphany of sorts. While maintaining a degree of outward awareness, she compartmentalizes the world around her, focusing the majority of her attention inward and entering a sort of meditative trance that allows her to while away the otherwise endurable wait until some form of external stimulus draws her from her thoughts. Of course there are still an irritating number of failures, her stiffened limbs preventing her from catching some prey even when it now wanders into arms’ reach, but at least she can rely on her now refined patience in that regard. HuángThe act of bluffing against the heavens is, as one would expect, risky business. For all that they and the limitations they impose upon the self should be railed against, those limitations are not wholly without purpose, either. They provide the structure and stability that underpin much of reality, and to go beyond those bounds is to risk damaging one’s self irreparably, with no one to save you from your mistakes but yourself. And even should you succeed in blazing a new trail and altering reality itself to suit you, you must do so subtly, quietly, for the backlash against those whose warps upon the world are uncovered is swift, merciless, and inescapable. Thus, you approach this Dao with none of your usual cocksure confidence, taking your time and carefully preparing the countless means and methods by which you might avoid the twin disasters that might assail. After all, on this occasions it is no longer your life alone that is on the line, is it not? Embody The Guanyin (2/?) developed.(cont'd.)
Despite their sect master’s extended absence, the Disciples of Mount Ao, from the lowliest initiate to the hoariest elder, have not been idle. If anything, your time abroad causes those who remain at Mount Ao to redouble their efforts and training as their ambitions flare to life, especially as tales of your exploits begin to filter back from those that have been deployed in the frigid North Sea. Mastering the beating of Jold ore, Disciples instead direct their newly freed up time towards yet harsher training. After the Jold is melted down, purified, and made all the denser and harder for the process, your Disciples eschew crutches such as the heat of the forge and the blunt force of the hammer, spending hours pounding their hands, bloodied and broken, against great blocks of Jold in order to shape them into something that might produce a greater sound with every impact. At first these efforts merely result in a near-uprising amongst the medical and alchemical practitioners that are forced to endure countless sleepless nights tending to the results of their more martially inclined fellows’ stubborn idiocy. Time, however, eventually bears fruit as it always does, hard-edged blocks taking on a rounder, flattened shape under repeated beatings, disks of inches-thick metal that your Disciples mount on to drums as proof that they have reached the threshold. With every strike producing a great clang, Disciples begin to compete against one another to see who can produce the louder sound, until Mount Ao itself shakes with the fury of a thunder god. At least until elders whose closed-door meditation has been thoroughly disturbed emerge to start administering educational beatings far harsher than those the drums receive, anyway, but the tradition stubbornly persists. LithicUnfortunately, while your confidence in the feasibility of the idea itself remains unshaken, it seems on this occasion that even your exceptional control over energy is not up to the task of realizing your vision, the quartz at first steadily pulsating in time with the fluctuations with the divine energy you carefully pour into it, then whining as you accidentally push past its capacity. For the barest instant you see a single minute crack form on the otherwise pristine surface before the mineral’s structural integrity is rapidly compromised, rupturing in a violent outward detonation that showers yourself and the (fortunately Petrosapien-free) surroundings in white-hot shards of crystal that penetrate the stone like molten buckshot. The WhisperEpoch missed, 2 Major Actions saved for the next epoch.Ervenbloud has gifted you Obedient Tar.tsssDespite the profoundly (and rather fittingly) otherworldly form it begins to slowly take on, the structure is undoubtedly a product of pure, tsss-free Kikka ingenuity, even Hahk content to allow the strange collection of inventors to build out the results of their strange, extended, slightly-drug-fuelled fugue without interference or advice. The results are…uniquely arcane, several different design principles and philosophies clashing and melding throughout the concept to miraculous, perhaps even irreplaceable results, ones not fully understood even by any of the individuals that participated in its creation. Yet even as they are wowed by its appearance and (purported) purpose, each and every Kikka hesitates to make use of the bizarre construction. After all, reckless though they may be, this is entirely uncharted. Perhaps the strange spatial mechanisms will simply rend them asunder, sending them to a different sort of big Ssstabber in the sky, or they will arrive on the move and find themselves in lands of yet-unprecedented ssstabbage. Or perhaps, horror of horrors, the moon will be as smooth as it appears from the distant land below, devoid of even the smallest of stabbings. Which brave (some non-Kikka would quite erroneously supply the word stupid instead) soul will be willing to take the plunge…? Ssstar Sstabber built.(cont'd.)
Quite in line with the faintly glimmering celestial bodies to which so many Kikka have recently turned their attention, a strange new plant has quite quickly begun to assert itself in the tssslands, though only in their most savage, untouched depths, where none but the bravest hunters and thrill-seekers dare to tread. After several days spent mumbling, deliberating, and poring over samples brought back by a handful of those self-same individuals willing to risk life and limb to satisfy their curiosity, the druids emerge from their arboreal enclave, bearing momentous news. This ghastly new vine, it seems, is capable of trapping the soul! Their enthusiasm dims, just slightly, under the unimpressed stares of those they are hoping to enlighten. After all, while SOME might quite inaccurately consider the average Kikka to be a bit dim, those able to brave the depths of the tssslands are cannier than most, and it hardly takes a genius to put two and two together when any attempts made to approach the vines in their natural habitat are met with strange, semi-transparent specters of familiar wildlife, one and all bearing some manner of gruesome, fatal word and an apparent, violent grudge against any that attempt to approach the patches of ghostly, bramble-like vines. Blessed Sablewood Saplings > Prereqs: Sablewood Temple> This ability tech allows a unit mustered from the Sablewood Temple (a druid) to use their UI and 1 Mana to create a Blessed Sablewood Sapling construct. This construct allows the containing hex to support the existence of tssslands, and allows a druid to transform the hex into tssslands as though it were adjacent to tssslands.Among the most sacred duties of the druids who serve at the sablewood temple is the management of the Sacred Shiv fruits. At any given time there are four thousand, four hundred, and forty four of these fruits (settling a long standing argument about whether 7 or 4 was the most sacred of numbers) and the location and status of each one must be carefully tracked before they ripen sufficiently to fall on an unsuspecting victim. As each fruit is picked, a new one begins to form, at some random location on the great tree. It is the job of junior druids to scour the many long branches and find these new sprouts before they can ripen and fall. It is a thankless, but important task.It is one such junior druid who finds an elusive fruit mere moments too late and watches it fall into the city below. In a panic he rushes after it, descending countless branches, then layers of boardwalks and streets and homes. Luck is with him, and the citizens of Thornshade, for the shiv fruit has weaved through countless layers of city and sunk deep into the ground itself. And yet, there is a miracle occurring. Deep under the city, where no sunlight reaches and the air grows stiff and stale, the druid can feel magic stirring. Wielding what feeble power he has he encourages it.The air grows fresh. Soft sunlight shimmers down from a location unseen. The seed sprouts, and grows rapidly. tsssvines grow and thorides scurry wherever he is not looking. There is some great power here, and he rushes off to tell elder Hahk, concern over punishment forgotten.

> Develop. MA. Ghost Thread.> Prereqs: Gravic Forge Activation, Ghost Vine> A refined, more potent version of Ghost VineIt is a survival trait of the Kikka that in no time at all they can grow accustomed to nearly anything. Impossibly sharp shines raining from the sky? A jungle of savage predators overgrowing their home? The battles of gods and titanic beasts beyond imagination? All of them were largely regarded as typical and day to day events. So it went with Ghost Vine. At first fear, then curiosity, and soon enough Kikka were asking dangerous questions like “Can you eat it?” and “Can you replace normal tssvine with this new variant in cultivation rituals?” and most bizarrely of all “Can you make it into a fashion piece to try and impress a chromed out Saurian lady?”. The answer to all of these questions generally fell into some variation of “Yes, but why by tsss would you?”It is the question that drives a strange experiment in the gravic forge. The vines are pulped and squeezed, the resulting elixir carefully collected. The pulp is slammed flat, dried under extreme pressure, sliced into the finest of strands. The extracted elixir is boiled, condensed, and distilled. The threads are soaked in the liquid for days, until every drop has been absorbed. Then they are twisted together into a fine pale thread. The druids refuse to even look at it. Hahk refuses to touch it. But young Crick not only accepts a spool of it, but requests it be woven into a bolt of cloth.
