Long ago, there was the almighty Xanthous Emperor, who, by his power, subverted the world into the world that was his own, creating this land below Heaven known as Hainei in which all would live and establishing the age of gods.

In so doing, the Emperor anchored his world of Hainei to the Sun, which was one and the same as his Heaven, by laying down the tower of firmament of his law so named Axis Mundi. But unlike the world of old, there was yet no night under his eternal Sun so unmoving in the sky for which life should be soothed by, and so he grafted the Moon of eld into Hainei, allowing it to bring about the Night. The dark of nighttime was a comforting illusion, and a temporary absence of all sight of Heaven, and it was pushed and pulled by Dawn, which now teeters on the edge, as an impalpable blanket to the world.

And the Moon was beautiful. It was a gem in the vacuum, engraved with Lunar Society. And long ago, in the year 3999, marking the end of the New Beginning and the start of the New Eternity, it was set afire and immolated by the Traveler of the Void, and now today is no more than dust of what had been, feuded over for by the rival gods of the Moon, Yutu the Jade Rabbit and Nio the Moon Man.

Because the Moon was what brought low the blanket of nighttime to the land, it could be said to be one of the greatest shadows in the world, unreachable by any conventional means. Yet, there remained one way to traverse the veil of Night to touch the body of dust and shadow; They were known as the Red Carpets. They were like glistening curtains invisible to the naked eye but showing themselves to the deeper sight. They were indeed the wavering ideational pathways to that testified space, and they were filled with the light of the Sun which bounced off the Moon's carcass in the eternally appended universe.

When light touches the Moon, it becomes of that eidos, and thus no longer associated with the Sun, creating the darkening reverse of Moonlight. When the Moon was brightened by the Sun, Hainei was dark, and when the Moon was dark of the Sun's rays, Hainei was bright and the Night was well. Some yet speak of how the Red Carpets, when they become too filled with the Emperor's light, overtake the Moon, and it shines red in the Night, yet it is only witnessed in the land when the Mage God of Belkinsire reaches out to bring the Moon closer. This, they say, is when the Red Carpets are most traversable. One who does not have the explicit permission of god may travel the Red Carpet to set upon the Moon and step foot where space normally disallows.

The time of great change is coming to the Moon, and the long pause of stagnation will lift at last.

«Yutu snorts, rolling her eyes. Namithene hops off of Virini and Koimaru, allowing the two to stand and grab onto Zhun Gongzhu's legs in order to extricate him from the dirt. Both smiling wickedly at one another, Namithene and Yutu extended their hands, shaking on the promise to bruise one another later.»

«But Yutu complained still about their landing destroying the excavation plot for her new concert building... another thing she believes she's entitled to. Jannugola rises from the dust at last with his cane, offering to mend this in the meantime for Namithene himself, claiming he would build it himself. It's suspect to Yutu, who had declared Qilins banned from the Moon, but even she won't look a gift Qilin in the mouth. As Namithene prepares to set out, she asks Zhun Gongzhu, Virini and Koimaru to head out and make an outreach to the Rabbits around. They all had their work cut out for them. If Yutu and Nio weren't going to help Lunar Society recover, then it was time to make them.»

Qilin who have their icon marked green on the right hand side of the map are free to work, while those red are busy and unable to move until that Node is completed. The Heart icon found above nameplates indicates whether that Node is being investigated.
¬ Nodes marked with the [Rabbit Icon] indicate interactions with the Lunar Rabbits, while [Unknown Icons] entail unknown elements. Crater Cities marked in yellow with their own [Crater icons] are permanent locations. The [ ! ] mark will flash to indicate locations for progressing the story.

DANMAKU COMBAT

• Both the Player and Enemy have a set HP value and Graze Bank value, with a maximum cap on the Graze Banks. Attacks are made by rolling using your DAV (Damage Average Value) until one is defeated. The number rolled is the HP subtracted, whilst the rest of the number of sides to the die is accumulated in the Bank as missing Grazes (Ex. Roll 1d100, rolled 50, the other 50 goes to the Bank). Once the Cap is reached, that number is then taken as damage by either the Player or Enemy, and if on the last accumulation the Graze exceeds the Bank, that excess number will add to the damage taken as Bank Overflow.

• Utilizing abilities can affect the flow of battle, either by directly affecting the Bank by means of lowering or heightening the Cap, increasing the DAV to gain more potential hits and Grazes landing or lowering it, or circumventing moves completely. Certain abilities might also last for a number of turns specified. By invoking a Symbol, the Enemy stands to gain a permanent affect or ability that must be taken down in the game of Hangman through deciphering the Symbol. If successfully deciphered, the Symbol will vanish. When selecting the Ability: Understanding to decipher a symbol, use the hint given by the enemy's invocation to correctly guess the deity they might be invoking by name in order to destroy the Symbol.

• In battle, the Player can utilize Lives earned through choices in order to gain a second chance in the case of defeat.

• Graze Mode is not the only method of battle. The Player will also encounter Lanes Mode. In Lanes, the playing field will be divided into a set of spatial 'lanes' with percentage values that dictate the flow of Danmaku from rolls. (Ex. If you rolled 479 at an enemy in the 78% lane, they'd receive only 373 hits to their HP value). Grazing is notably absent from this mode. To excel, one must utilize the Lanes Mode specific abilities they are given to dictate the flow of Lanes in order to maximize output.

Under the body of these things calling themselves Pantocrator's servants, the Rabbits were able to flee the Dark Side, and return to the visible body of the Moon, escaping the Shadow.»

It was apparently spreading its cells across the continent in order to create vents for the Leylines of Bedolfir. Could something similar be silently transpiring here on the Moon as well? Out of sight from where anyone could see? But how would that make sense? When the Alien God passed over the Moon on his way to Hainei, he totally razed it. There doesn't seem like there's any tactical advantage to leaving behind cells on the Moon and spreading its focus thinner.»

I feel like this mixture gives us a pretty decent amount of survivability whilst also making it relatively easy to land hits on Yutu. I do think that switching the Standard Ability for something else could work in favour of something a bit more offensively oriented, but I prefer playing it decently safe.
