You are Ushi Walker, the half-Japanese/half-American wielder of the mighty quirk âEverything is Bigger in Texasâ, newly licensed motorbike rider (outside of the high speed expressway, of course), and you are pretty sure one of U.A.'s Class 1-A Students. So why are you still blocked from entering the school grounds, wasting the sunny afternoon away? You continue hugging your robot pal, Tin, sitting in front of the gates, staring up at a behatted camerabot, missing out on time in the swimming pool and the time with your friends: the Gals of Class 1-A."Well, at least Ah gotchu." You tell Tin in your arms. Its mechanical neck has no problems letting it look straight up, back at you.>"Always." It replies without delay. Its reassuring response tempts you to stay like that for at least a little while longer⌠And after a few minutes, KT1078 retreats back into the ceiling, leaving you two alone and for you to decide what to try next."See ya later, Katie." You say to the guard robot absentmindedly as it vanishes, still pondering your options to try and get in.But it's not like you to sit idle for too long. No more than five minutes go by before you make your decision and are pulling out your phone again and checking your messages... No news, but youâre one to take initiative. As far as you know, anyone with access could get you in with little to no issue. If the system really wanted to keep you out, the full barricade would have been deployed already. You just need someone the gates will open for. After a few seconds of scrolling, specifically down to the letter "H" in your contacts list, you find the perfect person to ask. Not the friends you are trying to get to, who you are sure have already tucked their phones away in their lockers, but another that's even more certainly still on-site as well. The ringback tone chimes once, twice and thrice before she picks up the phone, but you werenât worried. She's a busy gal, after all."Mei!" You greet your schoolmate as soon as she picks up, yelling into the phone. Maybe a bit too loud. "Just the gal Ah wanted to get a hold of!">"Hey Walker." She says, her voice sounding distant, the sparking of some nearby machine adding some unwelcome noise to the call. "I want you to know I'm holding the phone at armâs length, just in case you want to yell a bit more.""Sorry. How are you doin' sugah?" You ask, toning your excitement level down, but still trying to hit the sweet spot between being audible over whatever project Mei is working on and peaking the microphone.
>âOh, Iâm in the zone! There's so much to do and not enough Mei to get around to it all⌠I should look into fixing that." Even through the phone you can hear the gears turning in her head. Then in a more literal sense you hear the squeaking of a marker over a whiteboard. "There. On the bottom of the list. I'll get to it by senior year. Gotta update my portfolio first, you know. I-Expo is right around the coo-or-ner~!"She sounds excited. Or maybe manic. Probably six of the former and half a dozen of the latter. You still have more than a few ideas for gear upgrades you hope to discuss with her next time you get the chance to talk shop, but since she seems to have more than enough on her plate already, youâll keep from handing her even more plates to spin. At least until after I-Expo⌠And after she crashes after I-Expo."It sounds like youâre busy, so Ah won't take much of your time! Youâre in the school's workshop, right?" You interject before Meiâs rambling continues. "The short of it is, Ah'm kind of locked out. Of U.A., Ah mean. Ahâm at the gate. Can you help me get me in? Ah've not been asked to leave, but the gate ain't opening either.">"Thatâs right! Can't really do all that much on my own without the workshop, not for the scale I'm going for⌠As for the gate, well, that's just weird. I assume the robots were less than helpful? Little sticklers." She says, clicking her tongue and shutting down whatever machine was roaring behind her. "An entire series of intelligences dedicated to being hall monitors. Literally! Bunchâa narcs. Power Loader only allows dumb cameras here. Says the robots don't like the off-label tool use we tend to fall back on when rushing. I think he got tired of them ringing fire alarms, real and false."Aw. You hope Katie didnât hear that. You believe in using the right tool for the right job yourself. But then again, anything can be a hammerâŚâWell, about that." You try to defend the mechanical fellows a little, even if they are currently part of the system not letting you get to your friends. "Ah had Tin ask Katie, and apparently there's a bit of a permissions <SNAFU> that no one will be around to fix âtil tomorrow.â>âSo potato-bots and bureaucracy. Thatâs even bett- ...Katie?â Mei asks after a beat."The camera âbot by the main entrance? KT1078?" You ask back, not getting what has her so confused. "So, can you fix it?...Or maybe just-">"Nope! Not my field! I would need to call in a favor from an upperclassman for that sort of pull, and I'm awfully short on those already. In a deficit even, to be honest." She says, chipper as always. You hope she means short on favors, not upperclassmen.
â...Ainât there anyone supervisin' what you're up to or somethinâ?â You ask, mildly concerned. The bark of laughter at the other end of the line isn't reassuring.>"No~" She says. "It took a lot of promises, but I managed to get the workshop all to myself for today! So I'm trying to make it count! Been here since the grounds opened and Iâm only a third of the way through the case of energy drinks I brought with me! Iâm in the middle of working on a whole other final examâs worth of babies thanks to you, - and I do mean it. Truuuuly. Thank you again for the ticket to the expo!... But I canât go pick you up either!âYou aren't sure if you should feel guilty about the state sheâs in. It's not healthy, even if she sounds like she's enjoying it."Right⌠Try not to drink too much caffeine, and make sure to get some rest ya hear?" You say, disappointment seeping into your voice whether you want it to or not. "Ah'll try to get in some other way.">"Hey! Hey,... Heeeeeeey. I didn't say I wouldn't help you. Just that I'm not going to commit a crime to do it. I've already sent CC to let you through. If the security system hasn't kicked you out, you are probably A-okay once youâre in." She says, leaving you to wonder when you asked her to break the law. "And don't worry, I already ran the numbers, I've gotten all the rest I need and only 75% of the recommended limit of caffeine! There'll be time to sleep when I'm on the plane, dead, or Recovery Girl catches me, whichever comes first!"Her energy is contagious, in a viral sort of way. But you still have another question."CC?" You ask, taking a not-very-daring guess. "That a robot?">"Indeed! One of the workshop's own delivery bots. Little more than an old reinforced box with treads! She'll get you in." She says, sounding confident enough for you to believe her. "Should be there any minute now.""So, Ahâll have to shrink and smuggle mahself in on âem orâŚ" You trail off.>"If you really want to, I guess. She has a built in pass to receive deliveries and bring them in. You should be able to just walk in when the door opens⌠unless you are really into that tactical espionage action stuff." Mei suggests. You aren't sure if she's just joking. "I gotta go etch some wafers now, call me if it doesn't work for some reason. Bye~!âAnd with that the call ends. And the din of various machines coming over a tiny phone speaker is replaced by a hum and a repetitive *dink* that calls your attention and gets you to stand back up and peer at the pathway on the other side of UAâs gate.
Just as Mei had described it, it was pretty much a gray and brown box with treads. The robot's body consists more of welded-over and bolted-on plates than whatever it was originally made of. One such plate being just loose enough to clink against the rest whenever the treads completed a full rotation. You kind of expected a mobile tool box or an automated palette mover. But as CC gets closer to the gate and KT1078 pops out to scan it, you realize it's a food delivery robot the size of a large cooler. A really heavy duty food delivery robot. Other people might have questioned it, but knowing both how tunnel-minded support class students like Mei can get, and how explosive-prone that workshop is, you reckon CC saves at least a couple students each year from working themselves into starvation while also taking the brunt of many spontaneous disassemblies.Or maybe it was commissioned by Lunch Rush, who had some exceptional use case for an all-terrain meal delivery robot.Either way, the boxy robot doesn't do anything else to confirm or deny any theories. It just rolls up to you, and the gate opens for it."You must be CC, then. Nice to meetcha." You crouch and give it a pat on the⌠Back? Shell? Head? You can only assume its front is facing you. Other than treads on both sides there's not much to anthropomorphize. âYouâre lookinâ kinda banged up there. You must be a hard worker, uh, Cici!â Itâs not pronounced all that different, but itâll be easy to remember. You stand back up and the robot reverses itself and starts rolling back along the path. You follow closely behind, just to make sure the door doesn't close on you. As theorized, the security system doesn't react to you in any noticeable way, besides Katie tracking you as you finally leave.Ciciâs route back to the workshop soon has it divert back towards the main school building while you continue walking toward the pool, the ding from its plating keeping a steady rhythm. You take out your phone and send Mei a short message, a thumbs up, and passive suggestion that your personal savior for the day could use a little tune up."Captain Celebrity's looking a little more angular these days, eh?" You say to Tin over your shoulder, pointing out the shared initials.>"CC is a robot, mistress." Tin replies, its tail camera keeping watch on your six as its âfaceâ stares back at you. "Are you experiencing symptoms of heatstroke?""It's a joke. Just a joke. A goof, a bit." You huff, kicking a small cloud of dirt as you walk. âDidnât you get anythinâ on humor in your Japanese lessons? Or is that not a formal part of the language?â
>"I can identify it wasn't haiku, if that helps you." It clarifies. "Or are you bad at poetry, mistress?""So you've got jokes after allâŚ" You avoid answering directly. You are pretty sure the only reason Momo beat your English grade during the finals was poetry. Tin doesn't need to know that. That reminds you, better address that other thing thatâs been bothering you lately while it's just the two of you.âYou know, you should probably stop callinâ me âmistressâ. ItâsâŚâ How do you put it in a way that it would understand? That term, combined with the half-child, half-property thing Tinâs voice evokes kind of reminds you of, well⌠Itâs not something you want any part of.âYouâre mah pardner, mah sidekick! So in uniform Ahâm Loanstar, and out of it Ahâm just Ushi. Got it?â You can tell itâs thinking about it, both cameras pointed at you.>âYes. Ushi.â More than a little stilted, but at least that wonât get you any looks youâre not prepared to explain away. Tinâs lenses dilate, refocusing on your face. "Loanstar acknowledged.""Thanks Tin." You sigh with relief, putting that bit of awkwardness behind you. If only they were all that easy.>"You are welcome, mistress." Tin replies, prompting you to narrow your eyes at the red lens on its head as its tail goes back to waving and watching your six.You are pretty sure it's fucking with you now. You kick up a little cloud of dust, roll your eyes and double your pace, choosing to set it aside for the time being. Youâve got some tanning, swimming and chit-chatting to do.Finally, after enough runarounds, the pool complex is in sight. It doesn't really stand out against the other athletics facilities. As far as you know, the only way to look in is to be inside the building itself or traverse through the fenced off part of the forest that surrounds U.A. Pretty good privacy all things considered! You can smell the chlorine wafting from the water long before you enter. By the time you do, you can't smell jack else. Itâs offputting; you are accustomed to having some idea of who or what's nearby by smell alone.Offputting, but not unexpected. It is, after all, a pool.Firmly grasping the bag strap over your shoulder you skip your way towards the pool proper, a pep in your step as you go through the rather dark building towards the natural light found on the other side. Best to let the Gals know youâve finally arrived and then head back to the changing room rather than keep them waiting any longer."HOWDY YâA-!â You exclaim, already waving as you break back out into the sunlight, round the bend and greet-
17. 17 of your classmates have shown up to your small get-together. Some 11 boys have shown up to your day with the gals. Youâre not unhappy to see them all, but you are definitely surprised>"Ushi! You made it!" Momo is the first to greet you from the far side of the pool, noticing you mid-serve.The rest of the girls stop and turn towards you, waving and greeting you as well. Well, except Uraraka, who turned just in time to take the beach ball to the head and sink. Youâre pretty sure the bubbles are a greeting too, though.âWell, Ah figured yâall wouldnât have yer phones on ya, so Cici let me in.â You tell them, looking around at the boys in⌠by the pool. You aren't wholly surprised that they are here. It's just that they seem to be working out a sweat besides the pool.Guess their warm-up routine must be pretty intense..>"Captain⌠Celebrity?â Your class president asks, looking confused, and a little worried. âUshi, how long have you been out in the sun-ââNo. The other Cici.â You make a box shape with your hands. "One of the robots.">"Oh, nevermind. I thought you were referring to a student." She replies without skipping a beat. "Leave your things at the lockers in the changing room and come in!">"She's on our team!" Mina immediately tries to stake a claim, splashing towards you in the same school swimsuit as the rest of the girls. "Three versus three sounds fair until you gotta play against Tsu. It's not fair at all!">"That's a skill issue. Ribbit." The frog girl notes. "Nothing unfair about it.""Well, Ahâm not gonna remember all their serial numbers. Anyhow, be right back-" You start to turn around then stop to look at Mina a second longer. "Huh. Ah wouldn't expect you of all people to keep rocking the school swimsuit.">"Not by choice. I had purchased a damn cute one, too, but we aren't allowed to use them here." Mina pouts, making her disappointment obvious. It doesnât last long. "It's still better than no pool at all, though.">"I asked Aizawa about the dress code for the pool." Momo joins in to explain. "Turns out every piece of swimwear would need to be reviewed and approved, so-">"So he pretty much just defacto banned all but the school provided ones." Toru cuts in. "âEfficiencyâ and all that." She makes it clear with tone alone where she thinks he can stick âefficiencyâ."Damn. Ah had gotten one ready too." You say with an exaggerated pout back, patting your bag.>"We can see it later! ...And everyone else's too, if you brought it, it'd be fun. If you want, of course." Momo consoles you, her earnest bubbly eagerness contrasting mightily with your fake over the top melancholy before quickly changing the topic. "There's a locker with your name on it in the changing room, it should have a swimsuit near about your size."
"RightâŚ" You don't comment on it. You've not had the best of luck with the school provided uniforms, your figure not quite conforming to what they make, apparently, and now there's swimsuits. You'll really need to inspect it before wearing it out in public. On the way back into the building you take a moment to look at the boys. All in their swimming trunks⌠glistering with sweatâŚ>"Walker! Glad you could make it." Iida greets you with a smile, raising his swimming goggles over his cap. "I don't expect you to join us in our endurance training, but I always appreciate your company!""Thanks sugah, nice to see you as well. You can see like that, right?." You greet the tall, shirtless boy, squinting at him for a moment. You had seen Iida topless before, but the form-fitting trunks give him a different kind of look you hadn't imagined before. Glancing around for a second, you can't help but notice it's not just him, almost all of the boys are ripped. Momo or Mina could probably beat some of them on actual physical strength, but most of them are cut, even the one that was skin and bones last time you checked. If nothing else, it speaks of dedication. "So that's what y'allâre on about, endurance training. Doesn't look like you'd need it, big guy!">"I-âŚYes, I mean. I wouldn't try reading right now, everything else is a bit unfocused, but I can see you through it all. He says, coughs, then goes back to the topic at hand. "But training is not about merely doing what's needed, but going further beyond! And you can tell what he's about to say"Plus Ultra!" You join him in reciting your school's motto. You aren't the only one to join in, as Kirishima and Shoto approach, the former joining in the cry.Out of everyone in the class, Iida is not one you would have expected to skip the sunscreen, so his reddish face is a bit of a surprise.>"How did your Motorcycle License test go?" Shoto cuts in, in the same tone as always, the fact he's at the poolside wearing only his swimming trunks not factoring in(?) at all."Oh, it went fine. Boring even. Can tell ya more about it later if you want." You allow yourself to be smug. "Or Ah can give ya a ride home, hmmm?">"Isn't it illegal for a minor to carry passengers?!" Iida worriedly waves his arm up, as if to call a penalty."Only if Ah have to ride on a highway!" You lie through your teeth without skipping a beat. It was on the written part of the test after all, and you aced that shit, so you know it's more complicated than that. It is also, in your opinion, stupid.
Before you leave, you take a second to look at Shoji and his ever-present mask."Are ya trying to waterboard yourself sugah?" You ask, puzzled.>"This one is for swimming." One of his arms answers as another tugs on the fabric, stretching it a bit. Looks breathable enough, you guess."How many masks do you have?" You dare to ask. You didn't expect him to have ones for different conditions.>"Enough." He says with a shrug."RightâŚ" You say as you slink towards the next boy that catches your attention. You don't feel like prying further.Watching Fumikage stretch isn't exactly a spectacle by itself; he's still thin compared to the rest. But now he looks like a thin athlete, wiry muscle shifting under his skin rather than just the bones."Ooh, that's an improvement." You say, keeping yourself from whistling. You've had people do it at you and it feels awful no matter the intention. "Just need a bit of bulk and you'll be ready to throw hands like the pros!"You emphasize with some shadowboxing.>"It was brought to my attention that I can't depend on Dark Shadow at all times." He says, raising an arm slowly and flexing his bicep. "No matter how great the strength of one's spirit, the strength of the body must follow. Only then we'll find true strength.""...That's surprisingly enlightened of you, isn't it?" You can't help yourself but be drawn by his eccentric speech.>"As it must, for it is the strongest light that casts the largest shadow." He confirms with a slow nod, eyes closed."Of course." There goes the shadowtalk you know and like. "Glad to see you improving, really. It's not a great speech, but any motivation for self-improvement is good in your book.Turning back towards the building, you head for the changing room.As you were told, there was indeed a locker labeled "Walker", your name on a tiny screen on its door. It sort of makes sense, as the locker is only yours for the day.You open it and take a look at the folded swimsuit and accessories waiting for you inside. Navy, with white sides and red lines. Nothing spectacular in the design, but you can appreciate being given a full suit. You'd be way pickier, by necessity if nothing else, if it was a two-piece.You check your surroundings, then press your fingertips against a wall and shift the tiniest bits of mass possible you can manage for a brief moment and use your Taproot Jutsu. For an instant, you feel the entire structure as it shifts under your quirk. A tiny movement, not enough to even crack paint as the whole thing expands by less than a tenth of an inch in total. No peepholes this time. Good.
Taking off your clothes and stuffing them into the locker alongside your bag, you quickly slip into the swimsuit. It's eerily comfortable. Holds up well too, if the bounces on your ankles in front of the mirror are anything to go by. You expected awful spillage at best, yet now that youâve tried it, you have to admit that if you tried anything that fit this well in a store, you would have bought it immediately.Besides the swimsuit, two other items are there for you, sealed in individual bags. The swimming goggles you take out and try on. The cap you examine for a second, look up at your hair, and leave alone. There's no way you can put it on without ending up looking like an octopus. Finally, you take Tin out of your bag, set it down, and return it to normal size. You slam the locker closed, present and ready."C'mon sugah, we earned this." You tell your robot companion. What do you do?>[Mina needs back up, go join the gals' casual volleyball game! >>6471912>>[Mina needs back up, go join the gals' casual volleyball game! "Ah'm more of a baseball gal myself, but Ah reckon Ah can serve!"]>There's no reason you can't use this as an opportunity to experiment with your quirk too, though. Before you go out there, try reversing Austin Tossin' to go into hydrodynamic mode! That should help even the odds against Tsu!You see, by giving ourself a temporary, tactical breast reduction, we can functionally shed training weights. Like Rock Lee or Goku during their tournaments. Sure, it's going to cause some pretty massive bruising until we've acclimated to the move, but Ushi's used to bruises from training.

>>6471912>>[Mina needs back up, go join the gals' casual volleyball game! "Ah'm more of a baseball gal myself, but Ah reckon Ah can serve!"]If we did go flat mode, we would probably be more at risk of a wardrobe malfunction. The loose swimsuit material would catch more water and be harder to move than easier.Does the swimsuit itself change with our body?

>>6471912I also have to vote for flat cow mode, It'll be too funny not to.
>>6472113Ushi can adjust her clothing, or parts of it to fit.It is a concious choice tho, if she forgets that would give the boys a VERY weird boner.
>>6471920>>6471912I'll agree with this, though I would note that we wanna shrink the swimsuit down accordingly as well. Or maybe we should just test that out in the locker room for a moment before we actually... y'know, do it in front of everyone?
>>6471920I wonder if Ushi has ever tried the opposite on her chest...Although if this quirk experiment is successful, I bet some of the classmates will become suspicious of whether Ushi's regular height/size is natural or if she has just secretly been using her power
>>6471912>>[Mina needs back up, go join the gals' casual volleyball game! "Ah'm more of a baseball gal myself, but Ah reckon Ah can serve!"]Glad to have it back. I should reread the whole thing at some point. Also, while Flat Cow sounds hilarious, I kinda just want Ushi to hang out with the gals; feels like outside of Momo her relationship with the rest of 1A girls is a little off.
>>6471920Part of me thinks that this might be a bad idea. Testing out something we've never tried before is fine in private, but right before we hang out with our peers? She's supposed to be relaxing/having fun yet if the bruises hurt more than expected it could hinder Ushi during the volleyball game more than it helps. Or worse, what if she can't hold it in for as long as she thought, and something embarrassing ends up happening?
>>6471912>>[Mina needs back up, go join the gals' casual volleyball game! "Ah'm more of a baseball gal myself, but Ah reckon Ah can serve!"]Im gonna side with team "dont mess with the chest" dont need those shenanigans right now. lets just relax a little

>>6472404>>6472529>playing it safe after a 2-year breakman, you guys are no fun.
>>6472381I wouldnât worry too much about losing the volleyball game, there arenât any stakes. Itâs also not something sheâs âholding inâ actively the way she does with her SubstitUshi Jutsu. Sheâll just undo it if she feels sheâs pushing herself too hard. Not like she never needs to adjust herself during her normal day-to-day.Moreover, remember that sheâs just recently had the conversation with Shoto about how if they want brought into the loop, they may need to prove themselves exceptionally capable. Scraping together every bit of advantage and technique we can right now should be front of Ushiâs mind.Furthermore, there really isnât a better time to test hydrodynamic mode than at the pool?
Does momma Walker know the truth about Endeavor? We never told her, right?Idk about you guys but I think Ushi should tell her at some point. Maybe not all of it, since that might end up making things worse, but at least give her a vague idea of Shoto's situation.Momma Walker is eventually going to find out anyways, and if she learns that Ushi was hiding this from her, that might break some serious trust.Obviously ask Shoto's permission first, since this is his life and his privacy that we'd be involving other people in.
