I am 23 years old, I have 13 GCSEs (grades B/C), a self-funded college education and years of work experience. I literally can't even find a full-time wagie job because the market is so raped. What are you actually supposed to do? The number of times I've been turned down, even from the most benign retail positions (which I literally worked as a child), is nauseating. I work as a cleaner contracted for 8 hours and I take every single overtime they can throw at me and I still don't make enough money to ever move out of my childhood bedroom. I don't do anything but work, plan on working, brainstorm potential paths for future work, and work towards getting better work. What is this? I just want a fucking wagie job and some apartment I don't care about le women or le friends or le kids. I just want to be able to wageslave myself into a coma and I can't even do this.

It must be very hard for British people right now. Feel for you.

Dude I got a first in electrical engineering at a Russel group and I cant find shit
>>

BBC news this morning was this and the only young people struggling to find jobs examples were all rag heads in their late 20s lmfao
>>

Even the trades is raped now. All the people telling you to go to trade school or become an electrician is the same meme as go to university. I pursued an apprenticeship after a referral and the company shut down before I could become fully NVQ certified, no one will hire me for this even though I have a degree. Maybe I will just do COMPTIA+ or something, at least it will be interesting and kms by 30

Yes because they refuse to ever take the native populations struggles into account on any issue ever. No doubt flooding the country with an additional 12 million people within the span of like 20 years hasn't helped the job/housing market.
>>
I'm 36 and have resorted to a life on disability benefits. You'd probably still be living with your parents at my age anyway with a job you hate and no girlfriend. You have to be middle class and rely on nepotism to get you to skip the job hunt queue these days.

I can't see it getting any better to be honest. AI/automation, businesses relying on skeleton crews and a lot of job roles just aren't necessary in the digitally enabled world. If you go to university, you will have a degree like millions of others and fight for a minimum wage job. If you don't, you'll just be considered to have no work ethic for a basic retail job. It's over. Just fucking drain the welfare system like the dinghy migrants and "full time mums". There's simply too many people here and a lot fewer jobs.
>>

Should have picked a more useful degree. Zero sympathy.
>>
If they stop importing migrants then Americans or just natives in general will finally get jobs.

What end of the country do you live in m8? Consider trade apprenticeships in your area to get into some skilled professional work. I went back to an apprenticeship at 25 and I'm on 60k ish after doing my time

I already tried this but it's mostly nepotism, plus I'm a sperg and tradie people don't like me very much.
>>
>>84671223
I'm a sperg and some trades need giga autismos. Not every trade is brickie tough lad banter boys. What area of the cunt are you in?

I just turned 39 years old and managed to scrape my life back together. It can happen but don't leave it as long as me.

>parents divorced at 13
>learned avoidance behaviours as a coping mechanism
>drop out of school at 15
>don't get any qualifications
>get a part time job at tesco at 20 in 2007
>only lasts for 2 1/2 months.
>sit in my room playing games and jerking off from 2008 - 2023
>get on bennies in 2010
>had a couple rounds of cognitive therapy in that time
>slowly get better but still a loser NEET with no prospects
>meet my gf in late 2023 on dating app
>through her find out about a program to get you back into work
>find out about a program my local council runs to get maths & english functional skills
>take classes one day a week for maybe 5 months
>got my GCSE equivalent in maths & english
>spend 2 years looking for a job or an apprenticeship
>didn't find shit for 2 years
>used all my bennies to learn to drive in 2025
>landed a WFH job
>saving for a mortgage now

I don't know what the lesson is here because I got lucky meeting the right girl at the right time and got a job because my brother referred me to the place he was working at the time. You're in a 5000% better place than I was at that age.

I don't recommend trying to get an apprenticeship at 38 though. I got 3 interviews in 2 years. They only want fresh out of school 17 year old retards who only know how to vape and scroll tiktok. Did it matter I have a genuine interest and dragged myself through the mud to get better? Nah mate sorry we need a kid with a broccoli bitch haircut and can't even read an analogue clock.

might be worth looking at working on the trains, they often have apprenticeship programs for both drivers and people working on the tracks n stuff where you don't have to deal as much with dave the cokey scaffolder or whatever. if you live in a city they're basically always looking for bus/tram drivers as well
also dealing with tradies n getting in with the banter kinda comes with time don't stress with being a bit spergy at first. im a chef and its basically the same thing, done my time and have a pretty cosy head chef job for a private members club

>I don't do anything but work, plan on working, brainstorm potential paths for future work, and work towards getting better work.
You're clearly capable of learning and putting forth great effort. The financial markets are your ticket towards not just earning, but multiplying your earnings.
It's just another form of learning. The same way you learn how to do tasks at different jobs you learn what a company/project is about and invest in it. Just gotta put in the time.
It's entirely feasible, most people around your age are just too busy blowing money on "treats" and even when told about options for savings accounts/compound interest they go "too lazy". So it's not that multiplying your earnings is a herculean task, it's just that most people never even get into it. You can do this.

>>84670923
heh. I'm 24 and haven't gotten shit since graduating 2 years ago. enjoy the ride.

I'm 30 and I'm a lonely failure
It only gets worse
Life is torture
You were only born out of the selfishness of your parents

you're probably naturally handsome. I know at the age of 39 me working in some unskilled job will be a bit of a red flag to women.

>>84671456
I guess so. I'm not like a chad or anything but a sense of humour and not being a bitter jaded ass goes a long way.
>>
>>84671507
Did you have to settle for an old woman/single mother? I can't imagine there's much choice of good women in your 30s and 40s.

5 years younger than me, slightly autistic and doesn't want kids.

>13 GCSEs
Literally worthless, unfortunately
>College (assuming level 2/3 quals)
Literally worthless unless it's a trade. Degrees are super saturated and how brutal hiring is now you need to be able to do something real and hands on to get reliable work. You have to understand you're not just competing with graduates and randoms, but people transferring/promoting/changing internally in companies, too. It's fucking expensive to self fund tradie stuff and I'm not really sure how to approach this.

If you want a full time bare minimum job get a driving license and go to Royal Mail before they completely gut the new contracts (which will be happening), or if you're willing to make fuck all do it out of your own vehicle via Evri/DPD/Amazon flex. Property is so fucked here if you're anywhere south of Nottingham (or <2hr train to Manchester) that it's not even worth eyeballing unless your home situation is atrocious. I've been doing Prolific on the side as they have AI training shit paying about $20/hr at the moment, I just watch TV/YouTube while grinding those out. It sucks, but if you're not doing anything else, it's a good relaxed secondary income.

For what it's worth, I'm in my 30s and working a dogshit job and can't afford shit right now. I'm probably just going to drop everything and see what my options are for pivoting to tradie shit as those are the only guys hiring constantly around me. Even if it's just a CSCS card and moving shit round until they pay towards actual training, it's better than my current options.

How the hell did you land a WFH job as a (respectfully, from your story) useless-seeming motherfucker? You might be pretty good at dealing with people if you can twist that.
>>
>>84671625
Despite being a NEET loser for almost 20 years I'm still pretty well adjusted and socialised. I don't know how I swung it desu. Despite appearing useless I'm fucking good at my job, handle stress reasonably well and am good at multi tasking.
>>
>>84671655
Genuinely, good for you. I wish I could get a comfy job like that instead of the dogshit I have currently. What kind of thing are you doing, if you don't mind me asking? I've been keeping an eye out for entry level jobs in insurance/banking but they seem to be one of the most contested fields because of WFH appeal.

I work for a company that provides a service to the NHS, so I spend all day either taking calls from doctors, having to call doctors or solving problems.

from the way you type you seem like a normie, not hating. but like im kind of just a spergy autist and id be eaten alive in any apprenticeship job. im good at cooking and id like to do that but i cant see myself ever earning good money doing that. itd just be torture. i think maybe you got lucky and also jsut have the average joe temperament that employers like
