Do you think normies will judge me if I tell them I'm Buddhist instead of Christian like they are? I usually just tell them I'm Christian too

Adopting some foreign religion will always be a larp.

It's just nice that it doesn't have any authority figures and only has two rules (be kind and have fun)
>>
I literally had to make this choice between jewish religion and Buddhism, but it was already made for me.

Yeah that's why I call them christlarpers.

Normies will judge you for being religious. They'll judge you for being irreligious too.
Why should you care about what they think?

Like christianity?

Because I like them and care about them

This is such a kek thing to point out. Alain de Benoist said it best and it makes me chuckle when I recall it:
>it is somewhat comical today to witness the denunciation of the "past" (European) by those who ceaselessly boast of the Judeo-Christian continuity and are always presenting for our edification the "ever relevant" examples of Abraham, Jacob, Isaac, and other proto-historical Bedouins.

You can like them without being affected by what they think. Also perhaps you ought to get better friends if your current ones are judging you.

I wish white people would go back to european religions. The world would be a lot less gay.

Depends on what the ones around you are like and what you're like. I generally end up with "the mature one" or "the good one", because I know how to have fun without demeaning anyone or using crass language.
I'm not hostile to those with different beliefs and life has shown me a lot of people were raised with similar values, but since getting away with ignoring those is often possible and fun they do so. Even so, they recognize the value of those ways so they don't have a problem with someone who adheres to them to a different degree.
I was friends with an atheist or two and I'd sometimes have people asking me how I could be friends with them, because both parties would sometimes end up bickering. They never bickered with me because we just talked about stuff in a civil manner.

If you're from the anglo-sphere or latin America then Christianity has actual cultural relevance.
>b-but 500 years ago my ancestors-
Yes. This is what a larper sounds like.

A non indian/asian trying to be a buddhist just comes off as a cringey hippie.

Judge? No. But you're probably start getting a lot of dumb questions. They won't be dumb at first but you'll get the same question over and over again.

What made you decide to adopt taoism?
>>84682653
Modern Anglospehere Christianity is basically a completely different religion from 500 years ago (in some cases literally like the mormons) so I don't view that as valid criticism.

Except it's foreign to those places. It's tainted with the Original LARP.

Yes because converting to Buddishm in the West is the quintessential way to signal to everyone that you're an annoying faggot, in a similar way veganism and biking everywhere (and making it your personality that you bike everywhere instead of driving) signals that you're insufferable to others.
