I'm very similar, in my case it was a dotting mother who never gave me the though love and I deeply suspect enjoyed having me so close. She's been dead now for 3 years and I have no family and never had any friends in my life. I have never had a job at 36 and am living on my inheritance as her own parents were decently well off and she didn't spend much of it. That said it isn't enough for life, maybe 4 more years barring another inflation spike. I won't do anything unless I have a proverbial gun to my back and will likely see the impending doom and do nothing as usual then scramble to find a way to live.

I'm still a loser, yes, because my personality is not good for making friends and I have low confidence. Thankfully I have a few advantages. I still look quite young, not balding too bad yet, and I'm tall and decent looking. I'm holding out hope I can find a girl one day soon.The biggest problem is having parents that enable this behavior. Often it's out of love and care but it's really not what's best for the person.
