Something I recently realized that people who tend to have good life barely have any internal monologue. My brother is this super normie who's constantly out and about doing stuff and when he's home he can't stand quiet so blares music. I asked him why can't he just day dream or be content with his own voice but he thought I was crazy that I talked to myself in my head. I started asking my co workers this and most women , attractive guys and boomers literally have no internal monologue. More socialized someone is the less sentient they seem anons
>>
>>84701270
I am an attractive man. I am always thinking. It could be because I don't socialize most days. I try to think positively
>>
>>84701270
I have one and I've had a pretty good life. Like I thought girls watching their friend confess or even bringing the guy over for the confession was the stuff of fiction until it happened IRL. But since there are so many people out there it makes sense someone might only encounter ones with limited internal dialogue who also have a good life.
>>
>>84701292
My theory is that voice in your head is using same pathways when talking to others. So if you're constantly socializing the thoughts you know wouldn't exist since you said all that needed to be said. But if your lonely than its opposite since you have no one to direct that voice to but yourself.
>>84701304
Ur lonely enough to respond on r9k stop trying to pass yourself off as some normie
>>
>>84701270
Unironically yeah, i notice this with my relatives as well. Feels as if everyone else constantly needs some kind of loud noise, either playing music on their phone or obnoxiously singing out of tune. They also think it's weird that i talk to myself occasionally and only read books instead of watching TV, and think stuff like drinking and going out to loud events is a waste of my time. They also argue constantly about stupid, mundane shit with each other and with me as well.

Am i just autistic? I mean, i don't like being one of those guys who calls people different from myself "normies" but why does it feel like so many people don't have anything going on inside their heads? I don't even have problems with social interactions, i just find most people incredibly boring to talk with, with the exception of my four close friends
>>
>>84701310
I agree with your theory
>>
>>84701310
I don't think myself what this place considers a "normie" but I've had a good life. Maybe your particular definition of "good life" is different. I found 4chan through a friend showing me it was a fun place for specific interests (boards and generals) compared to how Twitter was back then where you really only had scattered replies
>>
>>84701270
Human consciousness is a defect, we are all supposed to be monologueless NPCs.

Only people on the spectrum have internal dialogue. Normies intuit and cannot introspect
>>
>>84701270
yeah when you're constantly occupied with people who make you feel good, you don't have time to think about yourself
that's why robots suffer, they're stuck in their own heads
>>
>>84701312
>yeah, i notice this with my relatives as well. Feels as if everyone else constantly needs some kind of loud noise, either playing music on their phone or obnoxiously singing out of tune. Is like their minds have never had chance to direct themselves within and if your an adult your brain is just too rigid to do so. Idk how many of us here have had lonely childhoods where we mainly played by ourselves to point we just maybe one day started talking to ourselves. Plus normies are constantly chatting like 20 different people a day on Snapchat or iMessages so all that brain power is directed out instead of within. Busy mind keeps the devil away now totally makes sense. >>84701336
Like can u have internal monologue while talking? I can't I lose awareness of myself moment I start talking
>>84701439
Most great minds were like us >>84701489
I also think its cause you can't do both at same time
>>
>>84701312
every once in a while you will find someone like this who has been made to feel insecure for their behavior by some autists. maybe they work a job with autists, or they are part of some subculture with a lot of autists.

when this happens, and they are in a position where they can't just laugh and walk away, they start to create elaborate theories which villianize the autist.
>>
>>84701831
I think it's not really autism but rather how well socialized you were in your formative years. If your an attractive athletic autist through out your school years than most likely you'll never be diagnosed. However if your some ugly guy with lisp than what's there will just be amplified since you never had chance to be socialized so your bad habits instill themselves into you. It's no coincidence that lot of autistic people have no social awareness since they were kicked out from society in their formative years.
>>
>>84701803
>Like can u have internal monologue while talking? I can't I lose awareness of myself moment I start talking
No it shuts off
>>
>>84701270
This is true, when I was briefly a happy traveling normie ~23, I was just constantly outside, doing something, too busy to have thoughts. I would fall asleep in like 2 minutes.

I guess to be a normie is to have that kind of life since 14. Then you get used to not really living in your thoughts but in the real world

Anyway, now im inside all the time, unemployed and racism maxxing
>>
>>84702204
So internal monologue is voice directed at itself
>>
>>84702378
I think it is. I talk to myself in my mind for alot of reasons. What are your reasons
>>
>>84702472
It makes me hate myself and wanna die
>>
>>84702969
You control your own inner monologue. Think more positive and use it to reflect
>>

LLMs say internal monologue people are low IQ.
Which seems like horse shit.
>t. internal monologuing. I see everyone else do retarded shit all the time, can't even do their job despite spending 40 hours a week on it for years.. I jack off in my big house while working remote 15 hours a week for 6 figures. But apparently I'm the low IQ one.

Troubleshooting.
Keeping track of a process.
Exercising demons. Welcoming love and blessing into my life.
Sometimes I sing little songs about what I'm doing.
Mostly I talk to imaginary cats I don't have.
Had a dream today there was a panther everyone was afraid of - but my ass kept trying to play with it, e.g. peeking over a fence line and ducking under it again.
4ventually it got away from its captors and legit it want to play-fight - not eat me. But I was the exception.
It was a ton of fun.
It then went on a hunt to do its own thing.
I could not have stopped it if I needed, like if it was about to maul a child like pitbulls do...
would love to have a large cat.
But true, don't want to be disemboweled or have that happen to anyone else.
So I talk to my i.aginary cats instead. Sing them silly songs about what I'm doing.

Exorcising*
>>
>>84701270
yes, they are by default closer to the source, "pleroma," most everything they do is intuition based. you can become much more capable/influential than them buts its tricky, many like us just cope with drugs that shut the monologue down instead. you are cursed with a greater amount of free will basically, good luck.
>>
>>84701270
do you guys ever get ragebaited by your own thoughts and start arguing with yourself in your head until you're stressed and have a headache
>>
>>84703523
Yes.
I didn't want to mention it.
I'll hash out arguments and things I said or would say right now.
I try to put cold water on that - don't let it live rent free, OP.
Do not permit evil in your life.
Do not abide evil.
I do try to say out loud what a good day it is, if it's a good or great or nice day.

The whole point of meditation is to relax your mind, or surrender control of your thoughts until thinking just stops on it's own. People who operate from this pure mind state are calmer and happier in everyday life, and thought being human there will be thoughts and emotions coming up and they may be unpleasant this there is this place of enlightenment remains at the same time.

What is it like to be 100% sentient but have zero thoughts?

If I was seriously born 70 years ago, I would be a mechanic or garage scientist.
Likely disappeared by the government by the time I'm 50.
Or a serial entrepreneur like I am.
Experimenting right now actually...
I don't know shit about marketing but I'm learning.
And that's really what business is
>Marketing the fuck out of a product
>Managing people who will do it half assed
>Getting paid, because nobody is doing it better so it just is what it is
seriously.
I spent my life getting good at my craft.
Can't sell it for shit.
Been mistaken by tangential businesses for my biggest competitor - who is competent, and while my product is cheaper, and I'm going to say better, my competition closes enough business to have staff on payroll, an office, and more.
I can't even pay my own bills. I can cover overhead. But not my mortgage etc
I heard one guy, let's say Dave, was asking a tangential business, Dave: "How do I do my job? When do I do X?"
That's... Your job Dave, it's your literal job to know this.
People like Dave are closing business.
My biggest competitors are of course closing business.
I'm starving.
A lot to learn. Marketing.
>Poor people derive aue from skill
>Rich people derive value from people
A lot of self reflection OP.

you should never listen to the voices in your head anon, last time i did i attacked a hobo with an iron baton and i thought i did ok because the voices told me to
>true story
>>
Same fucking thread every day, this internal monologue meme doesn't make you special or extraordinary, it just means you're too stupid to nip meaningless thoughts in the bud before they have a chance to metastasize into posts like these
>>
>>84703299
It sounds spot on to me, intelligence doesn't require active real-time commentary on every mundane event, ideas just process automatically without a need for verbalization
>>
>>84703299
>But apparently I'm the low IQ one
Yeah you can't even keep your brain from ruminating on retarded uncontrollable factors that don't even apply to you in any meaning way, you sound dumb as shit
>>
>>84703992
*meaningful originally
>>
>>84703978
Tell us oh wise one, how do you nip these thoughts in the bud when they keep repeating? Over and over. Its torment. Im being genuine its really bad and I doubt its tied to intelligence since I seem to have no control over it. I can recognize thoughts useful to me and thoughts that are not useful, doesnt matter. I think youre just lucky and dont have to deal with this shit.
>>
>>84701270
I think maybe it's the ideal way to live. People who have achieved happiness easily settle in to the rhythm of day to day life, they only *need* to think when trouble arises, so they can set everything back in to order. I find these sorts of people to often be pleasant to be around.

They do still think too, at least if they haven't been brain fried by social media, about the shows they watch or whatever they have been reading. They just don't constantly think and reformulate their ideas, and sometimes you have to prod them a bit. I think >>84701310 is probably correct. Instead of criticizing and developing the ideas in their head they interact with other people to achieve the same result. Their thoughts might be a little shallow but they are still there.
>>
>>84701465
I think this book is probably wrong in some of its historical claims, but as someone who had psychotic symptoms as a kid I think there's some truth to the idea that people saw the "commands" their inner voice gave them as the voice of a god. The way the ancient people described that experience was almost exactly how I experienced it. It was like there was a separate being speaking to me, not literally through hallucinations, but I interpreted the thoughts in my head as coming from a separate source with an entirely different perspective than my own.
>>
>>84701270
>Something I recently realized that people who tend to have good life barely have any internal monologue.

This shit is cope. Most people know what they are doing. Most people accept reality sucks and stay in their lane. The happiest people ignore most bullshit because there is no point worrying. You are not special, you are just a loser.
>>
>>84704554
>Most people accept reality sucks and stay in their lane
do they? from what i can see most people do whatever they want and have a much easier time in this world than i do.

They're called hylics, anon. Or NPCs in modern vernacular. The secular term is "normie" but "NPC" can also be used in a secular fashion.
>>
>>84704590
>most people do whatever they want

Yes anon. This is involves knowing what you are doing. A lot of people run risk reward analysis and determine the risk is worth the reward. A lot of bad behavior has minimum punishment so if you are ok with the inconvenience you can get away with a lot.
>>
>>84704636
Not necessarily. A hylic is someone who lives an entirely material existence. Someone who is ignorant but still tried to live morally and according to Christian doctrine would be called a pneumatic, according to the Sethian Gnostics.
>>
>>84704654
Ok youre right. I suppose I am bitter since these people have more energy than me, but I get what you mean. You should try looking at life a bit less logically thoughever, I think you could benefit from that.
>>
Everyone can internally monologue, sans extremely rare cases like people deaf from birth. This is a meme.
