If you're not some kind of well-connected nepo or you're some kind of industry undisputed master of protein-folding or something bizarre that they can't get anywhere else, you can't get an entry-level job in your expertise or your interests. I read a grammar book and hopped on the loser-back-home english teacher bandwagon in Asia. This was literally my only option. My hometown in the rural midwest has thousands of Indians in it now. My millennial coworkers are so laid-back it's staggering, they think all is well with the world and that they could do anything if they went back. It's like, buddy, I hope you can do the equivalent of build a house by yourself and have $50,000 in capital laying around.
