Is my ancient Greek ok? I am trying to learn it.

Gpt's response:

>My impression is that the writer is well beyond the beginner stage. They clearly know declensions, participles, and literary narrative techniques. However, the text still reads like someone who has learned Ancient Greek from textbooks and is composing in it, rather than something that could be mistaken for a passage from Xenophon, Polybius, or a Byzantine chronicler.
In other words: competent intermediate-to-advanced learner Greek, not yet fully idiomatic literary Greek.

AI doesn't count.
>>
no one here is smart enough for ancient greek what do you expect
>>
>>84753020
Well maybe you should learn. Bitch.
>>
>>84752446
You'll probably get an actual response on /int/
>>
>>84753113
Already tried
>>
>>84753064
I can only imagine what you would be like in the real world
>>
>>84753135
Why are you mean? Stop being mean.
>>
>>84753734
in a sense, you flexing your language skills is its own manner of being mean. not to mention your general behavior in other posts in this thread
>>
>>84753755
I genuinely want to know if the Greek is okay though. I'm only used to reading it not writing it. I wanted to give a shot at it. I tried asking other boards but no one will engage.
>>
>>84753766
the ai anon engaged with you but you're obviously too good for an accurate analysis that tells everyone just how big your dick is
>>
>>84753775
AI isn't accurate. AI is shit.
>>
>>84753792
oh, but robots are known to be well versed in ancient greek. listen to yourself.
>>
>>84753797
I'd prefer a real human over a robot. I've seen smart anons on here before. I'm sure there is at least one other anon with experience in ancient or Koine Greek. I'm sure there are modern Greek speakers on here who might be able to look at this even if it's a bit archaic for them.
>>
>>84753826
try the classical language thread on /lit/. but you won't because you want to do this on this board
>>
that ai response was pretty spot on

its really textbook greek, which isnt a bad thing, makes it an easier read, but articles in front of nouns feel very spammed
definitely think u're skilled enough to play around more and add a bit more flair construction wise

tho i do have to mention its been about a year since i've actively translated any ancient greek, so my memory is a bit lacking
>>
>>84753872
I said I already did and nobody is fucking engaging.
>>
>>84753938
Well thanks I guess. I'm no Plato or anything. Also the dialect I know best is Koine, so technically not ancient Greek, but Koine is still a dead dialect. Like I said I mainly just read. Taught myself how to read it. To my understanding Koine was the street dialect of 1st century eastern Roman Empire. It's not the classical, high, literary attic of the philosophers. Also from reading the Bible in Greek I'm sure my constructions are littered with Semitisms not found in secular speak of the time cuz I am so used to semitisms from the LXX and NT and stuff.
>>
>>84754169
you're like a little girl who draws well and constantly says she's bad at drawing
>>
>>84754221
I am retarded though. I know I will never ever ever be a master scholar of Greek no matter how much I practice. I want input to get better though.
>>
>>84754240
>I know I will never ever ever be a master scholar of Greek no matter how much I practice.
muh never outshine the master
>>
>>84754258
You're a meanie. You know that?
>>
>>84754302
it's a personal goal of mine to make a website where you can't talk about your personal life or accomplishments.
>>
what is the translation?
>>
>>84754364
As they were proceeding down the mountainous and treacherous path, they seemed to be convinced that the enemies were nowhere near them. But as they lowered their guard, suddenly a fearsome and large boar stood in the middle of their path, and it was unafraid in their presence. Thinking that the presence of their horses would scatter him as they approached, they advanced, but in their astonishment it became as powerful as the sun, rising over the mountains in front of them, it blinded them. And suddenly, there was no boar to be seen, yet a common emotion about what they saw was a sign and a warning of the things about to come.

OP is insufferable. The worst kind of midwit.
>>
>>84752446
I don't know Greek I don't any other languages so I can not judge. You sound smart nerd
>>
>>84754768
Are you gonna bully OP?
