yesterday i was prescribed sertralineand hydroxyzine for anxiety / panic attacks, have any of you had experience with these? what were they like? did they help you?
>>84753543The drugs or anxiety / panic attacks? The only thing that's worked for me are benzos everything else seems like a placebo they won't give me benzos anymore tho
>>84753543Not specifically for anxiety but I would gave killed myself by now if I wasn't on OCD meds. You should give them a try.
>>84753566hmmm, what was your experience like? how did they help you?
>>84753543theres zero point asking this because everyones experiences will be wildly different anything that isnt an SSRI is worth a shot. though benzos tend to be the most effective, heavily addictive howeverwhats the main source of your anxiety?
>>84753543They won't destroy you but they also won't fix all your problems. But if you keep spiraling, I encourage you to try something and give it a chance.
>>84754392I'm still a barely functional retard but at least I've stopped cutting myself
>>84753543i love my zoloft desu. no one will ever take it from me. having said that some people it just turns them into a zombie so idk..
>>84754515It depends on your body's existing chemistry. My lexapro is pretty good, although it does make me tired quicker and I lack motivation. For some people, it does the total opposite of that.
>>84753543I take Alprazolam 2mg, Sertralin and Quetiapin, anti psychotic and stabilizers, but i'm very mentally ill, and hence on disability. Depends on how much you are taking and how youd body takes it, but get used to your brain being fryed, and feeling like you are spectating yourself going on autopilot or hearing an echo in your head when you think, as if it was a large empty room. Also if you are taking high strong doses or you start taking Alprazolam, get used to loosing hours. Just loosing hours to brainfixers turning off your conciousness. Maybe you slept, maybe you just lie awake but it just kinda passed without you noticing. That's how it is for me. I also sometimes get tiredness paralysis, but that is also rooted at my brain which is very defective. Good luck.
>>84754422i don't know, I hope it helps me, I am optimistic because i'm decently normal i'm just constantly stressed and obsessively worry about everything
>>84754829yeah it really is annoying how everything works differently for everyone
>>84754494thats good, self harm is for faggots
>>84753543I have both anxiety and OCD and its like they join together, so I have to take meds for both. Anxiety plus OCD is absolute hell. The meds were a huge help in addition to trying out meditation and the like.
ssris do very little for anxiety. I take sertaline too but thats because it makes the despair go awayif you want to beat anxiety, try pregabalin. totally different class of medication, it works on gaba receptors
>>84753543Neither of these drugs did much of anything for me but of course YMMV. Hydroxyzine is basically a glorified placebo when it comes to preventing panic attacks though.
>>84753543I had anxiety and panic attacks you have to understand you'll die. Anxiety takes root in your fears so moment you stop fearing death it'll weaken
>>84753543I rather pay monies to a really good psychologist and or do journaling and do act, cognitive behavioral and family behavioral psychotherapy than ever get on medication. Medication is unironically bad for you unless you have legitimate schizophrenia, bipolar and I forget what other disorders I was told about that you really do need the medication.
>>84759192Hydroxyzine is a glorified melatonin
