Tell me about your first actual job, and how it went. I'll start with me.>got a job at a shoe store after an aunt I was living with at the time forced me to fill out a paper application while we were standing in line>got hired right there on the spot>fired on Day 2, but hired by Gamestop a couple of hours later
>>84757994It was a pizza place where they paid me below minimum wage and under the table. It was constant work in a sweaty no air conditioning kitchen but I had fun. I made memories
>>84758027It's very nostalgic to me now
>>84758027>>84758031Not looking down on you, but I've been able to avoid working in the food industry.>so far...
>>84757994>overnight convenience store>was edating someone at the time that would constantly blow up my phone while i was work in a bid for attention>got along with two of the guys there, and one old roast who yapped about her Lesbian Relationships (has multiple children) because i'd just listen with nothing better to do on my smoke breaks>quit after 2 months because i am getting forced onto days and two of the roasts on days hate me for no reason + way too many people coming through
>>84757994My first job was wagie at Whataburger when I was 16 which to this day is still the job that I held the longest, for 13 months, I'm 22 now but I did have some funHow did you get fired on day 2 anon? I am curious
>>84758042Work wise it was an okay job. It is definitely not the hardest but it isn't the easiest either. Delivery is piss easy and you can make 20 hourly. If you want low pay low stress always go retail
>>84758046>how I got firedJackass store manager put me in the men's section, and told me to just "stand there and wait for customers." As I did, the other coworkers (women) talked trash about me, and I eventually got into a verbal confrontation with the manager about how I'm really only at that job 'for the time being.' She didn't like that, fired me, had me clock out, and walked me out in front of everyone. I only got one customer the whole time, and he didn't even buy anything.
>27yo neet>Amazon warehouse, night shift, packing orders>temp to hire position over holiday season>I was the most productive employee in the warehouse>got cross-trained in almost every job in three months>nearly got fired on the day I was hired permanently>clocked out for 34 minutes for lunch, max permissible was 33 minutes>the orientation presentation where this policy was explained was after lunch>I had to use 1 minute of PTO to excuse my absence>which meant I couldn't take a full day off laterI thought about that for a couple days, then quit by no call, no show. That place wanted every employee to be afraid of being fired at any time. Abusive bullshit.
>>84758120You get (well, 'got') 33 mins for lunch? At my current job, it's a HARD 30 mins and I get zero PTO being a part-timer. Been there 9 years, and it's going to intensify.
>>84757994I used a machine to measure and cut cable for electrical harnesses. It was boring but easy, and I liked the old woman that worked at my station since she spoke English unlike the rest. I had some difficult coworkers there, one old Chinese man would get mad as hell and yell at me if a cable came through short, and I let one of the other guys at my station push me around a bit too much. I left because my boss started putting me everywhere to make up for a lack of workers and I found the new tasks unfulfilling but very demanding and high pressure
it was a kitchen job and i had to quit because i was obsessed with the only waitress that worked there
>>84757994cleaning a hair salon after hours on my own, was uber comfy.
Got hired at a gas station and quit the first day due to paranoia as being seen as a loser then was neet for 8 years.....
>>84757994factory jobi was pretty much an errand boy at a small electric motor factoryi was hauling produce from machines, sorting it to get picked up by storagecleaning, small maintenance on all the machines, assisting operators from time to time, bringing them supplies to run the line and doing all the bhp workive stayed for the trial 3 month periodminimum wage ofc, no incentive to stay reallythe prospect of getting a better position, with barely a pay rise was in few years, when i talked with a manager he told me that there was a guy that knew every machine at the plant in and out and could do wonders, that got into the engineers department after 6 years or smth, to this day idk if he was trying to encourage me to work harder or wth was going through his mindsince i was an actual engineer at the time, in construction mind you, thats why i went with a low position at first, to learn the basics, i didnt stick aroundespecially since shitter fresh from hs were paid almost double that me, because they got on a technician position, even though the fuckers couldnt even operate any toolsthe only really good thing about that company was providing working clothes, so i didnt have to shit up my own clothes with all the oil and other garbagehad to wait for them for 2 months though
