The current theory now is that the clitoris is a larger and more complex structure than was previously believed, and that the clitoris actually has internal "arms" (or whatever you call them) that extend down near the vagina.

So when a woman is experiencing a "vaginal orgasm", what's really happening is that the motion in her vagina is stimulating the internal "arms" of her clitoris -- so it's actually still a clitoral orgasm.

It's now speculated that the "g-spot" may actually be the specific location inside the vagina that's closest to the internal "arms" of the clitoris, and so it's the most effective spot to stimulate the internal clitoris.
