Why doesn't Twitter allow people to save videos and gifs? I'm more so confused rather than annoyed, like what could possibly be the reason you insist on people not being able to download stuff other people upload? Sure there's Cobalt and Yoink but it's not really about that, i'm wondering why is it even a thing in the first place

they want you to link people to their website instead of taking the content and uploading it elsewhere. use yt-dlp. many anons are retarded and so will just link the thread and give xitter the data they want. this is actually one of the reasons i like this website, things are transparent, you will never have to jump through hoops to download a file that is literally right there.
