I played it after getting out of the hospital from a suicide attempt :/ I enjoyed the visuals, ost, and setting quite a lot. Been playing Katawa Shoujo off and on lately, and it's very enjoyable too.
>>
>>84774093
Haven't played it in a while, but Mount and Blade Warband. The mods and DLCs are brilliant.I hope Bannerlord will have mods as good if not better than 1257 AD and Viking Conquest soon...

Emi's route made me pick up running, as embarrassing as it is to admit. Hanako helped me realize why I feel uncomfortable with some people who definitely care about me. Rin was my favorite as a kid, and I could see why from the start. I wish I was as. Reserved? But her thoughts are really engaging and just the beginning of her route has been. Very mentally engaging.

What's your thoughts on Emi and Hanako's routes? Minimal to no spoilers if possible for the rest.

Planetside2 is awesome.
Janky. But awesome when squadding

Beta Minecraft unironically. It was fun to spelunk and build your fort, monster harvesters, not too much, just enough to have some fun. Getting more efficient at mining by throwing TnT everywhere. Or at least it was more fun.
Doom Eternal with the Mick Gordon soundtrack was kino.
Don't really play vidya anymore
Turns out it was always a coping mechaism for me. Now that I don't need to cope, I'm figuring out what makes me happy. Trying to, anyway.

I liked playing Ocarina of Time for the Nintendo 64 when I was a kid, also liked playing Postal 2 as a teenager. As for multiplayer games, I used to enjoy Overwatch. Shit, normies taste but whatever.

mass effect series. they fucked up the end but the universe and aliens and the story is so immersive. ive replayed it a couple times and whenever i finish a playthrough i get overwhelmed with a feeling of absolute emptiness because its over and im no longer in that universe or story. no other game has ever made me feel like that

I also play a lot of Warthunder because it satisfies collector autism and I've played all the major extraction shooters for awhile, but ARC Raiders never appealed to me that much, Hunt: Showdown got ruined by the devs, Marathon doesn't have much content and Tarkov is a buggy shitshow full of hackers.

The based 2000s GTAs. III, VC, SA, LCS, VCS, IV, TLaD, TBoGT.
It fucking sucks that my fat PS3 suddenly stopped playing them, and that PS ended backwards compatibility.
As a result, I am basically forced to play newer shit like Star Trek Online and Gran Turismo 7.
Modern gaming is so expensive, I don't keep up. I hate that online costs money. PS2 and PS3 era were the best by far for me.

You can emulate PS2 on your phone now. PC based emu is even better. Play through the whole library of released games for free. Modern gaming sucks, retro gaming is what's up. At some point we'll be playing Skyrim on our phones.

>What's your thoughts on Emi
Least favorite and generally most predictable route, basically, Emi is a BPDemon and that explains her entire character more or less. I can see how you might view it as motivational. idk.
>Hanako
IIRC, one of the rougher bad endings even though i didn't find myself that attached/invested in her character. Nothing compares to the gut-wrenching qualities in some of Rin's neutral/bad endings though.
Anyway, i think she and her route are number 2 or 3 for me. She is a very real character, though a bit male-brained we like our fiction and her route was very believable.
>no spoilers for the rest
sure, but shizune is hot but her route is disappointing imo. Lilly... sigh.

Mario Galaxy is special to me
>>
>>84779223
>Emi is a BPDemon
She reminds me of my boyfriend a lot and he's definitely not BPD. She's more on the extreme end of avoidant attachment with a lot of pent up emotions that eventually overflow. Pushing her body to its limits all to avoid ever sitting down to feel them. Full of energy and confidence, when you make them come out? Her inexperience and headstrong attitude make them... a bit extreme.
>How you might view it as motivational
I stole the concept of running to calm mind, as I'm a bit neurotic and certainly could use it. It's been very pleasant.

>Hanako
>One of the rougher bad endings
I misunderstood the option leading to the bad/neutral ending - and it had absolutely no leeway like Emi's did.
>A bit male-brained
It is - making me very agitated at times. Hisao was so stupid about Emi's dad, but manageable. In Hanako's route I felt far far more cognitive disconnect.

Likely going to be one of my least favorite, but I really enjoyed it anyways. Especially appreciative of it's general theme and lesson giving perspective on myself. Only played it 2nd since my partner liked her more and said she reminded him of me.

>Nothing compares to the gut-wrenching qualities in some of Rin's neutral/bad endings though.
She's by far my favorite with such little playtime on her route. She's given so much perceptible depth that isn't expanded upon much yet, with immense potential. Seeing her route chart also shows the writer's passion for developing her and y'all's relationship appropriately. I'm on the edge of my seat for when I find a good moment to immerse myself.
>Shizune... Disappointing. Lilly... Sigh.
Oh no :(
What's your ranking of them all?
>>
>>84779223
Apologies for the wall, this is my first time I've gotten to talk to someone who's also played it.
>>
>>84776688
Honestly? Not really. They're my favorites due to impact and timing. I was a bit of an outcast, so I grew up obsessed with my DS with Cave Story, Pokemon titles, and Lock's Quest say for shovel ware girl games and pet titles.

Also, as I told chuddy buddy I'm so fondly yapping to about Katawa Shoujo. I finally played OneShot immediately after getting out of the hospital legally weaseling out of the mandatory therapy.

Both just cemented themselves into my psyche, while also just having peak gameplay, and writing + gimmicks respectively.

If YOU have any recommendations. I'd love to know. I don't play as much now, but if they catch my eye?
>>
I don't have an all time favorite but the last game I played and was really blown away by was Norco
It has Disco Elysium vibes for context
>>
>>84774093
In regards to the amount of times I've replayed a video game from beginning to end, it's definitely Spyro 3.
>>
castlevania 1 is great so is the shit port of dracula x on the snes
>>
>>84780100
i don't play many games myself, i would say i would recommend lisa the painful and omori. are you doing better these days? why were you in mandatory therapy?
>>
>>84780961
Omori piqued my interest a while ago! If I remember right I wanted some Menhara-chan windbreaker from the company that made it ages ago? That's all I know about it.

Tell me more about both of them if you'd be interested! ^^ I'd love to know what made them impactful for you!

I'm doing better in many ways, still got a bit of an icky brain, but that's ok ^^
I was hospitalized due to an attempt to overdose. It's state law I must be admitted to a mental facility, especially as I was 17 at the time.
>>
>>84781416
well, to be honest i don't know about the whole windbreaker thing, but omori is a good game, so i think you should play it if you ever have some free time. it's an unpredictable game, with a lot of psychological horror. lisa the painful is a game with a dark sense of humor which i enjoy, plus messes with your feelings during the whole gameplay. i don't really wanna talk about what made them impactful, because i'd be spoiling the games and that would ruin the experience for you, were you ever going to play the game.
i mean, the overdose effects go away for the most part, but did the things that trigger the overdose attempt go away too? have you felt like doing it ever again?
>>
>>84781477
maybe i'm asking questions that are too personal. you can ignore those if so
>>
>>84774093
Doom II is a really good game in my opinion, and a classic.
>>
>>84781486
I'm an open book for better or worse, no worries!
The trigger was complete social collapse. Complicated story, and I've talked to them as adults and it was all bullshit, but. I digress.
I've always been and still am chronically suicidal, finding very little to no pleasure in life no matter what I try. Irl I appear extremely outgoing, kind, and like I've got everything figured out / going for me. I push myself to make friends, extend good faith, go places, etc. In a desperate attempt to find meaning.
After my attempt I had nothing, but eventually I had another plan to carry out my shameful urge, and instead forced myself upon the world as I feared my whole life. I thought it'd fix me, but now I'm once again shackled and beholden to being known and loved. Along with the recognition I love others and they deserve that. My death would cause immense pain.

Sometimes I find myself resenting everyone for this, and lately the urge has become quite loud due to having everything I could ever imagine within reason and morals.

I've even gone vegan to try and relieve the pain and guilt I inherently feel for living and how much this world horrifies me. I wish to say, too, that in all my experience. Meeting all walks of life, ages, etc. Talking to people earnestly and giving them my best, since I can't show up for myself. I really do believe the vast vast majority of people are good and mean well deep down. Didn't really help to learn, but. Some people are insane-o black pulled doomers on here.

How's that for too personal? >;3

dragon age origins SPECIFICALLY
everything after it mostly sucks
>>
>>84781736
it's strange, because i'm reading a text i could have typed with my own hands. except, you seem to be going up and doing things for yourself in order to feel better, but i'm doing the opposite. the social pressure has been crushing me down to the point of hating every single fiber of myself. you seem like a nice dude, anon. i really hope you never find solace one day.
do you have friends? people you can rely on? or do you bottle your feelings irl? i'd assume it's the later, given the nature of the facade you seem to project

>>84781830
I'm sorry to hear, your response also feels like something I could've written. Though I have to give myself credit. I'm keeping things held up while also hating every single fiber of myself and feeling crushed. I've got friends I talk to and can rely on along with a boyfriend who is extremely impressive and makes me feel very loved. I don't really see a point in chatting about my innate disinterest and such much due to a lack of a solution. Tried a wide variety of therapy, meds, drugs, etc. I find I feel better leaving this issue unsaid. I talk about others that pile up making me overflow though, and while it's more common than most people, I've got good friends.

I hope you've got good friends and, if you truly do relate... Are able to find your solution and escape. I hope to see you around so to speak. <3
