Why are most people unbothered by advertisements?

>teach friend how to install adblock
>a few months later he's back to getting ads on everything.
>workplace has a break/lunch room with a laptop that plays music from youtube, that's the laptop's only purpose.
>I intervened during a staff meeting teach everybody to open Youtube with a browser that has adblock built in, I made a desktop shortcut to it and installed it in front of everybody.
>"ooh, it's much better now!"
>a few weeks later coworkers were back to hanging out in the break room listening to youtube music with three long unskippable ads between songs, somebody deleted the ad-free browser but nobody asked me to reinstall it.

What's the matter with everyone?
>>
They developed a tolerance to it, you didn't, it's as simple as that.
>>
i think my parents still have adblock on one of their computers. but normies truly don't care. they're on their phones anyway, or if they're old, they've watched ads on television for decades. im glad it's like this so i've never got to worry they'll develop even further intrusive advertising.
>>
I don't understand. Even when you can't skip the ad, you can still mute it. Why would anyone ever willingly listen to an advertisement? Laziness? Retardation?
>>
>I intervened during a staff meeting teach everybody to open Youtube with a browser that has adblock
lmao
imagine still thinking you can change "the ways of the world"
people love ads, slop content, and paying for shit that they don't get to own. you having a problem with any of it, is a sign of being immature and unfit to participate in society. you either adapt and fit in, or withdraw and get shunned. make your choice.

During lunch breaks, after every song ends people get up from the table, walk to the laptop to click on the "skip" button, and walk back to continue eating.
They definitely think it's annoying, but can't remember that I fixed it right in front of them once

- I installed Adblock for foreign teachers, they asked, they love it.
- Adblock often break things. People uninstall adblock because of this
- people are afraid. They know about surveillance. You could argue that adblock means less surveillance, but it's hard to prove
- people don't know what they want and are depressed. They need someone to tell them what to buy, including cars, audiobooks, travels...

>Adblock often breaks things
Like? I use unlock Origin and I've never seen a broken website asset.

People don't always act optimally, and tech just straight up intimidates normies, they might've forgotten what to do and are more embarrassed to ask than they're uncomfortable with ads.
You tried to help, can't help everyone, at least it's not something life-changing.

I wonder too. I sometimes watch football with my dad and I don't understand how he just sits there at half time watching the ads. At least put it on mute

uBo _sometimes_ break things (esp. with my config where I subscribe to many additional block lists).
Also I have a friend who's afraid of losing views on youtube if he blocks ads.

Is there a way to skip that shit on a smart tv?
I wish I could just download a Brave app with insta adblock.

I am watching YouTube on my smart TV, for some reason there are way more adds on the tv than on pc or mobile. It is infuriating and I crashed out a few times because of this.

I will never develop a tolerance for bullshit.

Maybe discuss it with him.

My father is a big fan of automated homes, he has google speakers everywhere (not sure what it's called). Boomer with money. Can't discuss it because we don't talk. As he's very proud of his job (better than his father's) I think he loves surveillance and spying, he's very narcissistic, he must think google speakers are impressed. Also he's a hater, so he loves to buy stuff, to fel beter (the famous "unboxing" orgasm)

These people are so accustomed to awful, constant advertisement that removing it from the equation would break their "hobby" which basically boils down to eating the bread (junk food) and clapping for the circus (entertainment). The average person is just livestock meant for slaughter, as oblivious as cattle feasting on shitty slop their factory is feeding them.
>>
>Be me
>Use Firefox with uBlock Origin + Sponsor Block
>Haven't seen an ad in my web browser for years
>Also use Mullvad VPN set to block ads
>Also use nextdns on my own router to block ads network wide

It's insane how much of this shit creeps into your life. I was at my parent's house yesterday and their "smart" TV basically becomes a big advertising screen when it's idle. How are people okay with that? My "smart" tv has no WIFI and I only use it with a miniPC plugged into HDMI so I can stream from my Jellyfin servers.

FUCK ADS
FUCK CORPOS

normalfags are nigger cattle that deserve their suffering
>somebody deleted the ad-free browser but nobody asked me to reinstall it.
here's probably what happened
>dumb nigger opened laptoped
>saw unrecognized application
>"I don't know what that is, it might be a virus I'll delete it"
>>
normie npc cannot go off script

they will continue eating literal dogshit if that's what expected. when you point out they're eating dogshit they'll get mad at you instead
