President Donald Trump has declared that a framework peace deal to end the war with Iran is "all signed" electronically, with a formal ceremony scheduled for Friday, June 19, 2026, in Geneva.

Key terms of the agreement include:

Cessation of Hostilities: An immediate and permanent termination of military operations on all fronts, including a ceasefire in Lebanon.
Strait of Hormuz: The US will lift its naval blockade, and the strait will be reopened as toll-free for global shipping, though mine clearance may take weeks.
Nuclear Program: Iran agreed not to possess a nuclear weapon, with 60 days of technical negotiations to follow regarding enrichment and sanctions relief.
Signatories: The memorandum of understanding was signed electronically by Trump, Vice President JD Vance, and Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf.

Russians are based hackers and anti-LGBT western culture.

>After days of dealing with 1,500+ packages in the Arch Linux AUR containing malware, the latest headache in the Arch Linux User Repository is Russian spam and offensive messages.

feels too late to make an alternative edish.

sorry lads, the trollers have won ;_;

Yes Debian is more stable. It's the sane man's choice.
>>
>>84835485
I don't get into all the distro shit-flinging nonsense, I just chose arch because I wanted a lightweight distro, didn't want forced updates, liked pacman and thought the AUR was a decent thing prior to being maliciously fucked over, so arch fit the bill.

Debian seems like the next best thing so I'll give it a shot. Always a ballache to get used to a new distro though.

Someone should have got in first with the previous image + some background images. Ah well.

None of this AUR virus nonsense on ZorinOS.

Might be wrong but, you are only affected if are running old packages that have not been updated or edited in years?

ITT: newhomos posting in the wrong thread.

very embarrassing for you all.

No the guy(s) snuck a malicious update into a bunch of packages relatively recently, you're way more protected if you haven't been keeping up to date, like me. I can't find any trace of atomic-lockfile on my system, but cba to check every single thing every time I want a package. Will just change desu.

If you use the netinstall (default iso), then you can deselect the desktop environment and only select standard system utilities. After it's installed and rebooted you can install a minimal version of a desktop using apt, then reboot again.

If you don't mind LibreOffice, Firefox ESR and a media player, then the easiest way is to just select the desktop in the installer (full desktop task). Chromium is also a maintained browser by Debian. You can select to have updates installed automatically in the installer or just run apt update and apt upgrade every so often. apt autoremove to get rid of old kernels using up space.

Upgrading to the next version every few years is easy but you should check the release notes for the instructions. It won't change to the next version unless you change your suite name in the repo sources files. The only real different is using apt over pacman.

If you are like me and hate updating Debian or Devuan is a good option.
>>
>>84835592
Network Manager by the way won't be the default for managing network interfaces if you install a minimal desktop. So you'll have to comment out the interfaces in /etc/network/interfaces to hand priority over to Network Manager.
>>

Devuan is good but I have no grudges with SystemD. They could do with some better spread mirrors to be honest. Debian has nailed it with their cdn url/geographically close mirrors.

I was using Ubuntu 16.04 until its support ended a few months ago. If you hate upgrading and don't mind snaps, Ubuntu is the way. Shit on them all you like but they have good long-term support.

Day SEVEN of waiting for my Evri parcel. As of yesterday morning the status has been 'We're processing your parcel at our hub'. That was the first movement in six days after the first 'We've got it' update. It must be a massive warehouse crawling with jeets and pakis flinging parcels everywhere, utter chaos from start to finish, pure luck of the draw when your parcel finally gets fished out of the ever-growing pile of parcels that Nitesh and Noor Mohammed are stepping all over with their shit stained feet. Fucking waste of space is Evri.
