i got lasik eye surgery today, any questions?
>>
why didnt you just use glasses or contacts?
>>
>>84864271
Did they give you your eye balls back when they were done?
>>
How was the smell. I had it done 20 years ago and the smell is what I remember. That and them telling me not to over exert myself or the eyeball flap might fall off.

had glasses since i was 5, i'm 26 now and i wanted to get rid of them
i don't like wearing glasses and i can't wear contacts because 1) my eyes are too sensitive and 2) my hypermetropia was so strong they're too thick to even hold onto my eyes
>>

yeah but they make you pay an extra fee for that, a fee you can't even see until they guve you your eyeballs back, cheeky bastards
>>84864302
some family emmebrs did it like 20 years ago and they told me you could smell burnt eye, always thought they were joking but i literally smelled this "ant burning under a lens", shocked me a little but my mind was in fight or flight mode the whole time so it was the least of my concerns tbdesu
>>
how much was it
any difficulties yet? dry eyes maybe still getting used to it etc
how come you didn't decide to do it when you were younger or did it take you until 26 for your vision to stop changing
why lasik specifically? did you explore your other options like smile

why are you dumb, lasik is a scam that often only lasts a few years and has a chance of going catastrophically wrong in an assortment of different ways. all you had to do was figure out what glasses complement your fact

>how much was it
for two eyes : about 3000 euros in France
some of it is covered by my insurance but it's only a small chunk of it
>any difficulties yet?
no dry eyes, the opposite : lots of tears
right after the surgery there were two hours of excruciating pain from the drops they gave me, now it's gone and a small grain of sand like sensation remains in my right eye, which is a common side effect and should subside by tomorrow
>why now?
i always told myself i'd never do it, shit scared me to death and despite the fact i always hated wearing glasses i just couldn't see myself doing it
then last year i had a dream in which i had done the surgery and felt so incredibly happy to be able to see without glasses, this dream singlehandedly convinced me to start the proceedings, i'm not joking it all started from a dream. my vision hadn't changed in 2-3 years so i was eligible directly
>why lasik?
the surgeon i chose specializes in lasik, doesn't do smile or pkr, he's renowned in the region and people drive hours just to get treated by him, granted the delays are unending but with this guy i jnew i was in good hands. also i asked why not smile procedure a while ago (there are other surgeons in the same building specializing in the other types of eye surgery) and he said my specific case would be perfectly handled by lasik

light sensitivity will happen no matter what, it goes away with weeks or months but some cases will keep it for life. these cases usually are people who shouldn't have undergone eye surgery in the first place, some unscrupulous practitioners will accept people who have non-negliegeable chances or reacting badly to the procedure, hence why i went with one of the best eye surgeon around, long career with a spotless track record
>>
>>84864747
thank you for the response! i hope you a speedy recovery and happy vision
>>
>>84864514
you could've at least tried to make you bait believable, nonny
>>
>>84864773
thanks fren, i gotta get my drops in then i'm off to bed, this day has exhausted me both mentally and physically
>>
>>84864290
fpbp
lasik is retarded, you will eventually go back to the glasses whether you like it or not
>>
>>84864779
>m-muh bait
Only half of lasik patients are 20/20 after 10 years, because your eye keeps changing and deteriorating. When my prescription changes, I get a new pair of glasses. When you prescription changes, you either get glasses anyway or need a new surgery. All the while you have to face the risks of shit like striae for your entire life. Great job, retard
>>
>>84864271
weren't eye niggas working on an injection that corrected vision? maybe that wouldn't work for whatever problem you had with your eyes.
well hopefully it's all good now. personally i love glasses they're a cool accessory i specially love round glasses.

Why burn your eyes with a laser instead of getting "permanent" contacts implanted that can be removed or changed out if something happens down the line?
