Like, I genuinely think that most regular women are more attractive than celebrities, and it's not just a "you don't know what regular women look like" thing, I've never got to date women but have known plenty of women IRL and online growing up and now, and have gotten to see what mid and below average/"ugly" women look like without makeup or other beauty efforts, and I just think it looks better than all these celebrities women compare themselves toThe point is, it's more than just "I'd accept a regular woman", it's that I genuinely prefer them vs the "beauty ideal"And it makes me sad because I've never met a woman who feels the same way about men. I've known plenty who are ok with at least somewhat average (usually still above average, but not top 20%) men, but their mindset is always something like "of course I'd rather be with a super hot celebrity ideal type guy if I could, bit of course men are the same way with women and also I'd be perfectly content with a regular guy too, don't act like our preferences are crazy lol". But not any who genuinely LIKE the way regular men look or prefer it over "ideal" celebrity types and suchJust shows how much more diverse men's tastes are vs women's (Of course I'm outright unattractive, not just "regular", so it doesn't change things for me either way, but still)
>>84871931This is the first time I have heard someone on 4chan say something I mildly agree with, congratulations.
>>84871931popping off until u started generalising all women id hate dating a guy for their (good) looks
>>84872009We live in a society. Cultural norms exist. I'm not saying women are inherently like this. But just like feminists make criticisms of men in general in society (and are right to do so), incels are right to criticize things that are normalized among women tooAnd you may not want to date a guy specifically BECAUSE of his good looks... but you'd still rather date a guy with ideal looks, than date an otherwise equivalent man whose looks were further from the societal ideal.
>>84871931>I genuinely think that most regular women are more attractive than celebritiesnot that I disagree, but a lot of it is pheromones doing the heavy lifting, if in person.Sometimes I'll bump into a 4/10 at a store and immediately feel an intense inexplicable attraction to her. Not a sexual attraction, but like we were always meant to be together and that I want to grow old and experience life and die together with her. And then later I might learn more about her and realize that we wouldn't even be compatible at all. Aka "afterglow".
>>84872031>you'd still rather date a guy with ideal looksdont assume shit about me lmaoagain... looks are a negligible factor to me>Just shows how much more diverse men's tastes are vs women'ssure, its fine to criticise shallow thinking, but dont frame it as some corny "guys vs girls" battle
i like so called ugly guys but im a gay man
>>84872084>looks are a negligible factor to meA negligible factor is still a factorIf you had two guys who were exactly alike in every single way... except looks. Then you are almost certainly going to prefer the one whose appearance more closely matches societal "ideals", while more of us men are not merely apathetic about it and don't care about looks but actively prefer someone who looks more "normal" vs someone who looks more ideal. Again, it's not about mere tolerance of the non ideal, plenty of women have that. It's about active preference for the normal. You wouldn't choose the more normal vs the more ideal when everything else is equal. Don't pretend otherwise. Hell, you still probably wouldn't date an ugly guy who is shorter than you at all
>>84872123Greater male diversity in taste strikes again, I suppose
>>84872141anons and their strawmen...>You wouldn't choose the more normal vs the more ideal when everything else is equalbut, fyi i literally wouldI'm trying to get where you're coming from, and I'm sorry if you were ever hurt by whatever standards people have held for you. I don't know how else to say this, but amongst the 8 billion people alive, there's gonna be people with tastes that fully exclude looks and height.
>>84872206No women have ever settled for me and given me a chance, and it seems like none ever will. You can keep saying that but you'd never give me a chance because I won't make the effort to be the "high value" man you want, no women want undesirables like me and it's not fucking fair. Your standards are just too high.
celebrities are selected for being ugly ugliness is supposedly relatable even though lots of women are hot
>>84872082>a lot of it is pheromones doing the heavy lifting, if in person. No it's the fact that real life women often sexmaxx their bodies while celebs are Olive Oyls and Miss Piggies
