Gangle's feelings are motivated by Jax being abstracted, that's worse than anything he ever did to her. She just wanted Jax to stop hurting her, not die.

Zooble feels guilty because she didn't even consider Jax was a person who was also a victim of the circus, and that he was lashing out as a defence mechanism. It was only at the end she realized Jax was really not coping and needed help.

Ragatha is much more honest from the start at least
