Tattoos correlate very highly with poor impulse control and poor life outcomes (due to the former). My hatred of them is largely due to actually being used by terrible people. If, by some odd cultural change, the only people who had them or were allowed to have them were academics who made successful contributions to the arts and sciences, I would perhaps reverse my opinion on them.
