Literally what the fuck is up with Euros and their aversion to air conditioning? Can one of you explain to me why you are so opposed to something that improves quality of life so much? The benefit to cost ratio is massive. You have electric utility, water utility, heating, lighting, and most other modern comforts but NO AIR CONDITIONING? WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU.

Renewable energy isn't free and also you can't just slap an ac unit on the outside wall of a building. Writing this from 35 C outside with no ac :(

Not only is renewable energy free, even non-renewable energy tends to be free during the summer on spot markets due to solar overproduction. In fact, at some times of the day the producers might pay YOU to take energy from the grid. Only that you don't have spot pricing because you're a peasant.

You do realise that this kind of short sighted selfishness is why we are having a climate catastrophe? Right?
>>

Its because their politicians are absolute dirt bags against their own people. This stems from the British monarchy, which still controls more than people think, all over the world.

We're not really averse to it we are just broke

Most of them can't afford it and or live in places where a window a/c doesn't fit because they have those weird windows that pivot, so their only option is to cope and seethe

If only you knew that a decentralized energy production comes with an immense infrastructure cost. They don't and will never give you electricity for free at any point.

Europe typically uses minisplit ACs that can be mounted just about anywhere. Poorfags may use portable ACs. The usual burger window ACs are very rare.

Even with higher energy costs it is well worth it. Again, it is a massive improvement to quality of life.
>you cant just slap an ac unit on the outside wall of a building
Get a window unit. They are a few hundred USD and last years.

>>84922263
There is no climate catastrophe dumb fuck. Out of all the reasons to not have AC, the idea that its somehow bad for the environment is by far the most retarded reason of them all.
>>

I know literally everything about the economics of energy production as far as any small/residential consumer is concerned, thankyouberrymuch.

they are just poor

There are only huge portable ones that are not efficient, this is the closest one you can get to these window ACs. And it's almost sold out, cheapest offer 1500 euro. For something where you have to have your windows opened. A proper AC will require so much more money and effort, thats why no one has one.

>so much more
A cheap minisplit is like 600 euros. At most 200 more for tools and a vacuum pump and you can install it yourself. 1000-1500 including install if you are too stupid to /diy/.
