If one parent is not disabled and the other parent has a parent that is not aswell there is good change the child will not. If both have the disability they shouldn't. Is that still leaving it up to chance yes is it on the parents if the child is disabled yes but genetic flukes happen all the time even with perfectly healthy couples.
