I save stuff here and there, but keep it separate from the rest of your collection and then curate it afterward to decide what goes in and what doesn't. Also using something like hydrus to even simply rate your pictures helps a lot, even if you don't even tag stuff. It helps you see what should probably be deleted.I recommend the 1-7 rating system.
