At what point will the boredom push me to change, rather than sit all day and refresh threads and watch videos and play a round of game day after day year after year
never?
has long term consumption locked my brain into this mode forever?

You will never, NEVER, change unless you take the first step. Just like in FLCL, you have to "swing the bat"
>>
>>84930014
What do you need changed? You can't just rewire your brains.

nothing

there's nothing out there

>wasting time on hobbies no one cares about
>faking relationships with hollow people
>wageslaving for psychotic p*do billionaires who eat k*ds in weird islands

wow such a great planet
>>

creative pursuits
making things
developing skills
anything but this

So you're just depressed. Anhedonic, probably. You won't start doing something untill you get enough joy out of it. And for that you have to try. Do you draw? Do you learn languages? Everything has it's own approach.

i want to do many things
learn music, the piano, make music, make things for games, all stuff i've already engaged with before, but it takes effort, and i've spent 10+ years in low effort consumption mode. if i start to make something after 5 minutes i'll be back watching a video or something.
>>

You wouldn't have that with ADHD. So your brains are just rotted. You need to get inspired and get yourself in the mood, set up time you want to do your stuff, prepare for it. You should get yourself doing things for at least an hour.
>>
>>84930208
what about ADHD? what would be the difference?
>>
>>84930160
No this is all a waste of time that won't change the fact you are a poor
Just get a job and consumptionmaxx
Get a degree if you want actual skills
>>
>>84930244
i have a job
i don't want to consume, i don't want to spend my weekends scrolling
>>
>>84930265
Just take classes at your local community college in useful shit like welding or coding. Then at least you'll be held to baseline standards so you don't create some dogshit music or pixel art.
>>
>>84930237
ADHD would give you an out. You would be able to do something while very focused. You don't seem to have anything you can just do. Even games.
>>
>>84930278
i can focus in games it's just i know they're a waste of time.
>>
>>84930291
Well, games aren't that crucial here. And if you had ADHD you would find something you can do. You might have some other conditions.
>>
>>84930314
what do you mean by find something i can do?
i know things i want to do that i'm interested in and even want to do because the process of doing them keeps me occupied
>>
>>84930348
There are things you "want" to do which your ego tells you. There are things your brain gets focused on doing and you don't stop doing them. You need the latter. If you have trouble even with that then you need to change something you CAN actually change. Set everything up, get your material to study, get it in your schedule.
>>
>>84930363
okay thanks. yes the things i want are somewhat ego driven, but i don't see that as a bad thing if i end up making something.
problem is it involves computers and if i have a computer i also have access to this site and youtube... but thanks for advice anyway.

Try spending one day in home as usual but without any electricity. Just toggle breaker and spend one day like that. Could be your first step
>>

You could meditate by sitting naked under the sun for 10 ~ 20 minutes and reevaluate all the things you want to accomplish, find an easy one to start from and do it. Worked for me.

>At what point will the boredom push me to change
Never bro. I just had to delete a game yesterday because I know I am fully addicted. Been playing it every day for years. Problem is I still enjoy playing it. I had to recognize ok I should probably try someone new and delete this shit or I will just never stop.
