Would you date someone who liked to dumpster dive?
why the fuck are you rooting around in the garbage?
>>84949993Woah, another doll poster. Dumpster diving is super gross so no I would not.
>>84950029To save money by getting the valuables others throw away :3 helps my wallet and the environment
>>84949993I love these style of dolls. I wish I could have a custom one of my own so badly.I've been wanting to try dumpster diving but I'm really strict with cleanliness. If I even so much as go outside, I have to shower and wash my hair before touching anything in my room.I also worry if I'd get in trouble for it where I live, canada.
>>84950046what valuables are you even finding in the rubbish?
>>84949993Depends. I mean i dumpster dive on the low to get cool shit (work at a dump). It definitely has its pay offs, you find alot of cool shit. My friend is into retro games and shit, recently found a gameboy advanced with a mario game for him.People really just throw away perfectly fine things, its fucking ridiculous. I have literally found a whole ass silver cup (93%) and other things that could be sold for couple hundred bucks. Not to mention how people throw away items from dead loved ones. Really makes you think, people really dispose of us when we die. I found this guys military plaque shields (you hang them on a wall) he was a fucking general. I quite litteraly couldn't believe they would wanna get rid of that. Taking things from dead people and using them feels like imortalising them in a way. Now I have his plaques and im gonna hang them on my own wall. You also save a fuck ton of money and like you said in another reply it saves the environment.
>>84949993Yes, is this an offer I can take you up on? Because I would
>>84950054I doubt you'd get in trouble, and also, you can just take the things you're sure you can clean well enough. And if you still have doubts after collecting, toss it anyway. It was gonna go in the trash regardlessUnless you're making a huge mess and not putting things back, there's no incentive for anyone to get you in trouble. At least where I live and have before, sometimes people actually put the best things outside the dumpster itself or on top because they know others might use the stuff (and I've done the same before)
>>84949993if i found a girl that did it honestly i wouldnt bat an eye. my friend found some nice ass things from these college apartments near him. the highest lick he ever got was 4000$ painting. like the retards didnt know the value of it and he went to take it to be checked out. 4000$ off of 2 minutes of dumpster diving. and that was just for a fucking painting. dont let me get started with the amount of actual name brand clothes he finds. if anyone wants to do it. Do it at apartments that are primarily housed by university students. they are by far the biggest materialistic fucks who will throw away so much as opposed to going down a regular apartment. even luxury ones too didnt spew out as much stuff to sell.
I mean if she's taking proper precautions then she's eventually gonna find some cool shit so yeah
>>84950061Most of the clothes either fit well or are big on me. (Oversized is comfy and in style.) Oftentimes kitchen gadgets come up too. I found a really awesome almost fully stocked spice rack for example. Electric ones you have to clean and test but might be good roi. Sometimes there are shoes that are close enough to my size too, nice quality tote bags for shopping/holding stuff, etc.
>>84949993Even if it makes sense I think I'd be pretty embarrassed to be associated with someone who dumpster dives.
I knew someone who did this and I did it with them, I think some sanity hit them and they realized it was cringe later.
>>84949993yes it sounds sorta fun actuallysome time soon I guess head down to a junkyard and try to find some treasure there What's the most interesting thing you've ever found in there?
>>84950061I got an almost new condition working dishwasher, a microwave, a working chainsaw that just needed a new bar and chain, and a bunch of other stuff, legitimately a couple grand worth of stuff overall. People treat everything like it's disposable these days.
>>84950054>wishing to have a custom doll instead of making your own yourselfNGMI
>>84950062All of that is wild, and yeah, the roi can be high. I wonder why they tossed the general's stuff out, wonder if it was a disaffected adult kid or something :/
Bump cause I want to reply but I dont want the thread to die
>>84951866>I wonder why they tossed the general's stuff out, wonder if it was a disaffected adult kid or something :/They did at least put it in a container where we take eligible items and sell them. But i still found it weird, since its such a personal item. And generally speaking its kinda eye opening to see people just buy and throw items such frivolously. Consumerism is way more of a problem than alot would realise. When i say people throw perfectly fine things I mean like they throw items that litteraly looks or are brand new. Unopened. And that costs alot too. Thing that hits the hardest for me are items of sentimental value like kids drawings and photos and things that were well loved by the owner. I understand they ought to declutter, but its a constant reminder that we will be forgotten.
>>84950046>helps my walletI feel like this will be my future.
>>84949993I grew up doing it but now they've put fucking wire fences with a motorized gate, security cameras and a personal guard at all trash dumps in my area. I live in the middle of no where too.I wish I could get one of those guard jobs. He just sits in his hut and watches TV all day and makes sure rednecks don't throw dead horses in the apple sauce only bin.
>>84949993If she was under 30, fit, and obviously wet for me? Yes. I'd mask and glove up and dig for precious, precious trash-treasures with my raccoon girlfriend.
>>84949993If it was to find cool, valuable, or at least truly interesting shit, then sure, whatever. If you were dumpster diving for half-rotten food regularly and ratting out for weird consumables, it would give me serious questions as for your well-being and general stability. Not that I want to promote waste at all, but if you're doing it out of destitute necessity/survival, I'd be wary. It should be fun and done casually, not dire.
