Personally "How to Talk to Anyone: 92 Little Tricks for Big Success in Relationships" by Leil Lowndes helped a bunch when I was actually trying, the problem was that it's a consistent momentum and there are plenty of social dynamics involved, I got oneitis from a coworker I was seeing and she cut it off eventually and I went back to my old ways of solitude and it's so much more comfortable. Now I have to get back there again after 2 years of not trying and it's pretty rough.
