wow is cool because 80% of players have 5000 hours minimum invested, whereas overwatch is 70% people with less than 10 hours gametime across all characters (one weekend for me)i literally got junkerqueen to level 20 in 2 days lmao, 95% of players are below level 20 on their most playedits actually sickening, i always just say "isnt there something else you could be doing right now"

the community is terrible even in classic now. the spillover from retail is noticeable, the speedrun attitude, whining after any mistake (even when someone in the group is new), the transactional atmosphere in the overworld where no one chats too long, gotta get that xp. oh yeah, fuck the "world" part in particular, we just grind dungeons as spellcleave now. gotta stay efficient, no time to waste or i might actually have fun or make friends. can you tell i hate the game now?

idk why wow is so kino to me. ive dumped tens of thousands of hours into this game (stopped playing retail at the end of WoD though), nothinf else compares. i know every nook and cranny of wow vanilla thru wrath by heart, even though i havent played in a few years.

I've tried getting into Classic for years, usually waiting for fresh servers etc. but I never felt like playing. I used to no life the hell out of the game 20 years ago, but I was too ADHD to reach max level. Maybe I just need to find people to play with, which is something I could do on 4chan 14-15 years ago. But now many people here are insufferable zoomers.

Plus they have poz shit like the cross-realm dungeon finder. Long Fucking Gone are the days of just wandering around exploring towns or questing or grinding for whatever while trying to get a run together for the local dungeon. People may be off-levels by a bit, but whatever we got our 5 guys. Maybe we're lucky and get one over-leveled bro who will basically power run us through it. Mostly though it's everybody's first to third time through, nobody knows what the fuck so even a typical 5 man is an adventure but we stick it out together. Maybe you'll see one of the lads from this run again in 10 levels at another dungeon, or even just chilling in town. Now it's a speedrun every time, click a button to instantly warp into a dungeon with a group of random nobodies who all appear to have the entire game memorized and will rage at anyone who does not. The "chilling in town" factor is completely dead, cross-realm BGs mean there's no terrifying foes of the opposing faction who you instantly recognize and dread seeing in the gulch, not even recognizable guild tags. The NPCs are now more real than the other players.Funny enough I actually like Retail just fine. It's perfectly enjoyable to shell out $15-30 and run a new character to the level cap over a month or two then stop. It's a completely solid singleplayer RPG with a fat amount of content for that price.

Classic+ can be good but it's highly doubtful it will be, especially in the hands of private server russonigs.
I thought Turtle WoW was excellent. I think every idea they had for what classic+ should be was correct, even if i didnt necessarily agree with their exact implementation of that idea. theres zero percent chance blizzard will get it as right, and the servers will have more bots and less community. the real classic+ died with turtle wow.
