For anyone with a job here, what would you want to change to if you could? Assuming you have to do 'something'.For me, I'm trying to get out of healthcare. Anyone got ideas? I'm thinking corporate law but I don't know how I could negotiate with clients. My grades are pretty good and I plan to apply in the next few months. Healthcare is fucking garbage. Also, any tips on changing careers in your early 30's? What's the outlook like?
>>85086278Honestly I'd be careful leaving healthcare. it's one of the only careers that isn't getting ass fucked and actually has jobs and shit. I'm thinking about going into it because I work in tech and people are being laid off by my employer regularly. I guess something like teaching would have a lot of job available.
I went from lab assistant to web developer when I was 30.Best advice I can give you is work hard and be disciplined. Also don't fall for the "it's too late" bullshit. Companies don't give a shit about your age because no one expects you to stay in the same job for life.I'm 37 now and I'm considering changing jobs in the near future because AI has killed any interest I once had in this field.
how did it feel turning 30
>>85086294It's a good job I have right now (MRI Tech), but I don't want to do this in my 50s. Plus, my pay is determined by insurance companies. If I go into law which is what I want, I can bill my own hours working with insurance companies.Yeah, it's kind of evil being a part of the problem. I just don't give a shit anymore and want to get into a job that makes enough money to have a great life in. I don't want just a 'good' life.
I'm a translator, and my days are probably numbered because AI is getting better and better at doing my job. Basically I'm fucked, but I haven't come up with any ideas to secure my career or pivot. Job searching feels worse than having a bad job.I shouldn't really be giving career advice to anyone, so the best I can do is posting my personal experience and giving you a bump.
>>85086333Honestly Law is probably a pretty safe field to go into. I wouldn't even worry about good or evil at this point, job market is fucked do what you gotta do. A lot of people go into law later in life too so not that unheard of. I'd say do it if it's really what you want to do, if you got the time and money to get a law degree why not?
>>85086278just work at a pharmacy store frieren faggotdo NOT go into law it will be miserable learning of the system of humanity's enslavement
>>85086355Thanks. I originally wanted to try and be some sort of 'change in the world' and be a doctor for low income people. Working in healthcare you quickly see the evils of working in it (I'm American, no idea if it's similar to your country). All the Jewish behavior of extracting the most profit off of the dying was eye opening to me. Yeah people say the American healthcare system is broken, it's something different to see it all happen right in front of you though.Law ironically is far more honest in that it doesn't try to hide that they work for money. Healthcare tries to hide behind a: "I just want to help the patients!" mentality while administration and doctors collect most of the money from the dying and grieving. Lawyers don't try to hide that they're in it for money.>>85086370I'm already fully aware of how we're enslaved. The Koreans have a saying: "If you're going to be a slave, might as well be for a rich man". My plan is to go into corporate law for a quick was to a six figure job and then get a nice house away from niggers nearby. I already have a few nice areas in my state's countryside picked out.
>>85086350I can only give my personal story in return in how I was close to going into CompSci right out of highschool. Even got a scholarship that didn't pay for everything, but was tempting.Turns out, that school was predatory, and only got you in the door for basic jobs that AI is already replacing as we speak. I dodged a fucking bullet going away from CompSci.
>>85086333Im thinking of going into MRI tech myself desu, how much do you get paid and what is making you want to leave? Healthcare is basically the only industry where I live.Do NOT listen to this retard >>85086370 pharmacy is what I do now and if you work retail pharmacy you will deal with the most fucking retarded scum of the earth boomers of all time day in-day out and get paid dick. If you work non-retail as I am lucky enough to now its unbelievably boring and pay still isnt great.
>>85086278>what would you want to change to if you could? Assuming you have to do 'something'.SWAT officer, Delta Force operator, or PMC contractor.Unfortunately I need to lose a lot of weight because am fat. Also I have a kid so I can't really do the latter two.
>>85086562I'm a Traveler MRI Tech, so I get paid about 1.6k weekly right now. It's decent pay but I know it'll eventually dry up and go back to full time, where you get paid 30-50 an hour. Hence why I'm trying to leave healthcare. The biggest reason why I'm trying to leave healthcare is that I have less control over my life. It's clear that healthcare isn't valued since we're paid terribly compared to people that handle money and law. There's also the fact I can bill clients myself instead of relying on the admins and insurance companies to determine how much I'm worth. I also am tired of all the fake culture around helping people. Everyone in healthcare is out for themselves, and do this just as a job. Sure some will come in bright-eyed like I did straight out of school, but everyone gets broken down by the out of touch admins and the retarded doctors. I choose law cause it's "honest". Find me a lawyer that actually wants to "just help the clients" and there's a fake culture around helping people pro bono. There isn't one. I appreciate how honest the law career is in that aspect.
>>85086596based, in another life I could've been under your command
>>85086596What do you do now desu?
>>85086622I appreciate the response and I agree rhat people in healthcare are legit retards and many of them are evil, pay seems pretty damn good though considering how much training is required. Did you go through an associates program? Thats what im prob going to do and should take 2 years if even.
>>85086636Used to be a fireteam lead. I was okay at it.>>85086646Armed security, trying to transfer into Law Enforcement. Had shit luck so far (to include shattering my fucking leg in the middle of an application cycle)
>>85086677There's many different ways to medical imaging. I did an Associate's Program into X-ray, worked there for a bit, then crosstrained into MRI. Some people go straight into MRI, but that means you have less skills under your belt for your resume. It's decent pay honestly, and I'm not barely scraping by to where I'm able to go on vacations and shit. Just prepare to deal with out of touch administration, doctors that think they're god, doctors that think you're the doctor, nigger patients that just fucking hate you sometimes for no reason other than they want to make others miserable, white karen patients that want to be treated like it's a fucking spa, coworkers that are the most consumerist NPCs you will ever meet, jeets, and hippie liberal white men.
