A courier company in my country requires the customer to download an app to get their own package from a parcel locker.I bought an iPhone Pro Max so I could do that, and now I demand that they pay for the phone.I will take this to court if I have to.
If it works it'll be because they don't have time to fuck around, not because of legal merit. It's like saying "I had to buy a car to go get my package, you owe me the money for the car". I hope you win, though, since forcing you to install apps when a website would have worked fine is bullshit, and only done so they can spy on you more.
>>85092068>t's like saying "I had to buy a car to go get my package, you owe me the money for the car".OP here. I dont think it's the same at all.But that sort of straw man / bastardization is exactly what the company will try to pull in court.
>>85093257It's not the same for these reasons:1. I don't have to go to the post office in a car. I could walk or bike. I have options. With the app, I have no alternatives. They literally won't give me my stuff unless I get the app. Cant even use a laptop or a website to do it.2. A normal person can EXPECT that if they have a package, they will need to have a way of physically travelling to the post office.I could in no way expect that I'd have to download an app. It's not mentioned in their website or anywhere. They're omitting the information on purpose.3. Because they're knowingly scamming the customer, it's not unreasonable for me to make them pay for the phone.
>>85092068>forcing you to install apps when a website would have worked fine is bullshitAs someone who owns an expensive laptop, this pisses me off so much.Like, they totally could of made their service work on a desktop, but they just didn't. I mean they coded the fucking thing on a desktop pc but they make it not work on one.
