do you believe in comeback stories? do you think people can change their nature?
>>85093031I think their can change their attitude but have little control over their nature.
>>85093031I believe in a true story in which I come on your back
>>85093031I used to. But the more time passes, the less I believe in it I think, because of how little I've managed to change. But perhaps I shouldn't project my own failings onto everyone. I do for some reason believe it's possible for you to have a comeback story, Anon. I mean, you were sort of already on one until it ended prematurely... there'll be another one, I'm sure of it. And I don't think you really need to change anything about your nature for it, your nature is good as it is. You just have some issues but I don't think those are your true self or anything. At least that's one way to think about it, but I guess the line is kind of blurry between whether something can be said to be your true nature or not.Although I do believe one's nature can be changed *to some extent*. You are never going to, say, become a complete extrovert if you were born an introvert, but you can get part of the way there with enough work. Neuroplasticity is a thing, after all, even in adults. It's definitely very hard though, and perhaps most people will never make any such big changes. I think you need some kind of really big reality check for most people to have enough motivation to undergo the painful process of change. If your life is as cushy as mine, you are probably doomed to rot in mediocrity forever.
Can people change? Yes. Can everyone change? No. Should you still try? Yes, because trying is ultimately more important changing itself.
none of the stories you hear as a kid are true. they are merely lies to keep you stuck in the loop. to keep you working and to keep you from achieving freedom. the only way out is by not playing.
