Why were videogames so much more enjoyable back then? Is it really just nostalgia goggles and getting older? Or were they objectively better?
Here's a hint: you couldn't just get any game on demand whenever you wanted for free.
>>85094029Because they are better. Replay some old games with modern modifications. They destroy modern games.
they were made for FUN and the developers had passion for a new mediumgames nowadays are made by overworked jeets and corporate checklistsit's like eating a free range chicken and a miserable chicken that lived in a cage
>>85094029they were made by white men + less hardware power so you have to get innovative
>>85094037In that era of the OP's screenshot? Yes you could
>>85094029They were developed and programmed by Japs and Whites, not jeets and DEIs
>>85094242I'm talking about actually old games. Not the ones you experienced during your childhood last year.
>>85094277They were not only made by whites, but also made for whites, not for rainbow clothed people as today
I think the oldest game I've played and enjoyed is mother 1
>>85094029Vidya used to be an art form, people who made it were passionate about vidya and wanted to make something amazing for people to enjoy.Vidya nowadays is treated like a product, the people making it are overworked and the game is a piece of shit on release because the people who are putting it out don't give a shit about vidya, they only want to make money.
>>85094333I enjoy playing games with your mother too AHUEHUEHUHAEUHEUHEUHUAEHUAHEUHEUE
>>85094029Unlike today, the devs put actual effort into them. Most of the time, anyway.>>85094333>>85094358Put me in the screenshot, faggots!
>>85094029I think it's a three-fold problem:First, I think you used to have a lot more higher level programming talent in the gaming industry; but computing, both professional and consumer, has exploded into so many other, more profitable avenues, that people with those skills usually go for instead of gamedev.Second, modern AAA games are incredibly expensive because of constantly ballooning graphical expectations and basically require large teams and sometimes outsourcing, and everything just has a "too many cooks", smoothed over feel to it as a result.Third, modern audiences are getting more and more retarded and we are unironically approaching Idiocracy IRL so there is simply a higher tolerance for middling slop.
>>85094029>Or were they objectively better?Yes.No DEI and SBBM
>>85094521>Second, modern AAA games are incredibly expensive because of Because they hire jeets instead of white men.
>>85094029>Is it really just nostalgia goggles and getting older?Yes. Kids are easily impressionable. And I guess we didn't knew better. Play those old games now and you'll see how often they feel clunky to play and how much QoL they lack. Only thing that changed for worse is monetization schemes and forced propaganda like trannies and nigs on eastern front.
