I can read Shakespeare fluently.

So, a high-school reading level.

Shakespeare is actually harder and more sophisticated than people give him credit for.
Just because they read him in high school doesn't mean the students actually have a comprehensive understanding of Shakespeare. I think they mostly just get the broad strokes if that. I'm sure most high schoolers these days just use chatbots and don't read anything at all.

Not really, the only reason his work may seem hard to understand is because he wrote in early modern English. Try reading Beowulf, which highschoolers also have to read, and you'll rip your hair out.

Is having to write essays on character dynamics and syntax analysis not specific enough for you?
>I'm sure most high schoolers these days just use chatbots
True, but with modern AI-detecting tools most people get caught and absolutely raped for plagiarism.
>I can read Shakespeare fluently.
Good for you, but it isn't much of a talent. Try translating a book or something.

Did you read the original text or a translation? Because in schools where you are held to a minimum standard you often have to read it in the original language, Old English, and it becomes a nightmare to read.
