I'm on a plane traveling with this boy here, he was alone and he's 13 years old. It's going to be a very long flight, and talking to him impressed me. He's a genius and competed in the first phase of the Mathematical Olympiad on June 9th. He explained some of the problems on the test to me and solved calculations mentally with an ease that seems unbelievable.We're now talking about books, science, and technology. He's also very humble; we talked about what he intends to do in the future. His maturity and the way he sees the world are surprising. This is better than talking about politics or soccer the whole flight (although we did talk about soccer too, he complained about our national team's performance).Truly, these talents can be sitting right next to us, completely anonymous. Sometimes, all it takes is to start a conversation to discover these truly inspiring stories.
