Why haven't we bred a species of miniature elephants that stay the same size as a baby elephant? I want one as a pet, but regular elephants are too big.
the point of elephants is that they're huge transportation/war animals (at least traditionally)this is like breeding a slow cheetah

Not to mention the unholy costs of housing and caring for an entire herd of elephants being astronomically high even for royalty.
