Naw I quit video games for a while and got a girlfriend and it was the most miserable I've ever been. Might be different for others but never doing that shit again. Only way i'd get into a relationship again is if the chick was into video games too. Pretending to be into boring shit to attract a boring girl was awful, actually told her i enjoyed reading books and then sat around for hours with her reading and wanted to kill myself.

Are they really into books? My ex claimed to be into books and she had many and actively read them when I met her, but while together she stopped doing it and her pastimes devolved into watching series and doing increasingly harsher drugs. Personally I think they performatively read books when single so that they can pretend to be smart and interesting for a guy and when the guy just doesn't give a fuck about it they instantly drop the facade.

This chick was actually into reading. She would have quiet time where she would turn off the tv and everything and just make us sit in her living room reading. Couldn't get out of it either because she would do this "but I like just being here with you" shit if I said I was going to go for a walk. First couple of weeks were ok because I'd just read Bukowski which wasn't bad but then it just happened every god damn day 7 days a week. Honestly I would have preferred if this chick did drugs. It's my fault though, shouldn't have pretended to be some hipster ass book loving bohemian on my dating profile.
