I think the worse thing about getting rejected by a girl isn't the rejection itself, its the blow to your social status. The more upset she is about you hitting on her, the more people adopt her version of events and view you as a creep.

One of the weirdest modern trends has been young men being worried about what girls or other people think, and on the flip side the trend of women being absolute cunts to men instead of a polite rejection. I would say rejection is irrelevant. If anything she did you a favor because if she had said yes and didn't really mean it then you could've wasted your time and gotten hurt worse than a simple no. One final thing: other people don't actually give a shit. What seems like a big deal now will be a faint whisper of a memory in the future. Everyone is really just worried about themselves. And that's okay. But it also means this social status bullshit is total nonsense.
