I enjoy thinking back to when I was younger and I thought that things existed independently from each other and that some things are truly unique. Now I recognize that all things exist in relation to each other and all things exist according to the same laws, and it's somewhat killed the magic of living for me.
>>85097599The more you lose the magic of separation, the more you have to embrace the magic of oneness. Read Jung. The concept of Unus Mundus. One World. As above, so below. If everything is connected, then change comes from everywhere.
>>85097643This framing of reality honestly makes me uncomfortable. I don't like to think that this is the one truth of this world. I would like to think that there is something higher, an exception which we can strive to, instead of being damned to this lowly world where you are just as in control of yourself as you are subject to the whims of the world, all the pain it entails. At least, I would like to think there are possibilities we haven't fathomed, metaphysical concepts that escape the typical notions of reality, after all, all we know is only what we think we know.

It contains thoughts but it also contains matter, so it's where thoughts meet matter. You can watch thoughts arise as sensations, and sensations arise as thoughts, and realize they are one.People try to influence reality by thinking, but that's backwards. One can influence reality by moving matter through moving objects, which causes thoughts, which then causes sensations, which is an event in your body, thus closing the feedback loop to matter. And that change in matter causes sensations, which causes thoughts, and so forth.Once you step back as a witness and observe the feedback loop, you learn how concepts are created, and you can create them yourself if you wish.
>>85097599How does that kill the magic? If anything it makes our existence that much more meaningful. The very act of existing causes an immeasurable effect on the rest of the world. Everything we experience is a byproduct of infinite permutations leading up until that very moment. You're completely missing the fact that being alive and sentient enough to appreciate it is is a cosmically freak accident. You can't talk about how everything is connected and then completely discount just how magical it all really is
>>85097599But that's literally the magic.
